About

SADIE & THE HOTHEADS IN CONCERT:

The multitalented Elizabeth McGovern is just as entrancing onstage as the frontwoman for folk rock collective Sadie & The Hotheads as she is on the screen in numerous film and TV roles. Her charming stage presence, dramatic delivery, and sultry Joni Mitchell-esque voice always captivate fans at her live shows, where she and her six-piece backing band whip up folksy rock tunes influenced by '60s pop, country, and jazz. They transition seamlessly between quirky original songs and dreamy covers of bands like The Rolling Stones and The Bee Gees, giving ticket buyers an utterly enchanting live experience.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Elizabeth McGovern leads a double life as the frontwoman for British folk rock band Sadie & The Hotheads and as the Academy Award-, Golden Globe-, and Emmy-nominated actress best known for her role in "Downton Abbey". McGovern formed the group in 2007 with her guitar teacher Steve Nelson, and the band now boasts a six-member lineup of seasoned instrumentalists: Nelson's guitar-playing brother Simon Nelson, drummer Terl Bryant, keyboardist Nick Lacey, bassist Ron Knights, and backup vocalist Danica Chapman. The group has released three studio albums: 2007's I Can Wait, 2012's How Not To Lose Things, and 2014's Still Waiting, and they've earned a glowing reputation on the live circuit. They've appeared at the Isle of Wright Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, opened for Sting at the Montreux Jazz Festival, and headlined their first U.S. tour in 2014.

Unfortunately I haven't seen them live but I do own all their CDs. Elizabeth has a rich sultry tone the lyrics, se says are written as a reflection of her life. The mix of genres is light and fun
