a May Day at the Park

by Tahoe Pat on 5/9/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

Got there early for some batting practice, got the infield grooming instead, but a nice walk around the park to see everything, it's been years as I live in South Dakota now. Enjoyed the atmosphere at the park, everybody friendly, bought a hat (later saw a better one - dang!). Had some food and the Bogle wine and a really good fireworks show after. All in all, a pretty good deal and there are no bad seats in the park.

As good as minor league baseball gets

by Phil on 5/9/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

Everyone my wife and I interacted with at the ballpark-- from parking attendants to concession staff through ushers to Dinger, the mascot -- was super-friendly. We had fish and chips and taquitos and cotton candy, and it all was, well, quite edible and not worse than most Major League ballpark fare I've had. The ballpark itself is a gem, with impeccably-groomed grass and infield. \ And the baseball was entertaining. The major difference I've noticed between AAA and the majors is the pitching. AAA fastballs tend to be around 93 and 94, rather than 95 and up -- and there is a lot more wildness.

Game was fun, food not so good

by Rocklin George on 5/8/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

Cats lost but that’s baseball. We order taquitos which were ok; but the loaded nachos weren’t worth the money. Small portion of pork, inadequate amount of cheese. Won’t purchase at that concession again.

    You’ll leave hungry

by JacqE on 4/27/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

Parking was easy. Security to get in was quick. Lines for concessions were insane. ALL lines. We stood in line until the 6th inning to get food and water. By then they’d run out of hot dogs, beer, pasta salad, (other things too according to those in the stands) and all condiments were empty- no ketchup, mustard, relish, mayo. This was the complaint of all of the people seated adjacent to us. If you can’t bring food and drinks in, make food and drink purchase accessible. We won’t go back until they figure things out.

    Great venue /long lines

by Sue B on 4/26/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

Seating is great for baseball game. Good/drink lines were long and slow missed half the game getting ice cream. Also clear bag policy was a joke. Wanted me to buy a clear bag and then put my small purse inside? But beach chairs, blankets, diaper bags are all good?

    Horrible

by Mel on 4/26/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

Severely understaffed, tan out of food/drinks, the man at the food counter we chose was yelling/cussing at his coworkers and guests, by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a riversats game.

    Eat before going

by Big Daddy on 4/26/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

We got to the game running a little later than expected but the traffic getting off the freeway and into parking took 40 minutes. We couldn’t believe it! Long line to get your tickets scanned for entry. Glad we ate before going as we would have spent 3 innings in line for food. When we went to get a beer about the 5th inning I was CC in line 15 minutes and they ran out of Hazy 3 people in front of me! Way too expensive!

My husband missed 4 and a half innings waiting in line for our hot dogs. Literally half the game!

You have to be a computer genuis

by Tim on 4/25/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

You have to be a computer genuis to understand of how to get your tickets that you've purchased. I had to go to a friend to get my ticket so I could get in the stadium to see the game.

    It’s the little stuff.

by Baseball fan on 4/24/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

I use to go to River Cats games fairly regularly, about 5-6 games a season. This was my first time back post COVID. It was ok. Staff are always 5 star. What I didn’t like was 1. It was cashless. When it comes to entertainment, that’s how budget myself, use cash. 2. There was no MPH to chart pitches. As a HUGE baseball fan, I love examining the variations of speed for different pitches. EVERY ballpark that I’ve been to, and I’ve been to many, displays MPH. 3. Forcing my wife to buy a clear bag if she wants to bring in her usual purse. We aren’t talking one of those giant Le bag purses, a medium size purse, or should I say handbag. 4. Food selection isn’t what it use to be. I can look past this a little because of light attendance, but River Cats games were known to offer diverse selection of good food.

The ambassadors at the park are amazing. It starts in the parking lot and continues through every part of our visit.

    Great Bang for Your Buck

by Zack on 4/23/22Sutter Health Park - West Sacramento

Good, tight game, 9-8 with OKC Dodgers overcoming the consistent hitting of the River Cats. Awesome seats for $44 each; front row next to dugout, adjacent to 3rd base. Tons of foul balls for the kids.
