About

Sabrina Claudio on Tour

Sabrina Claudio is an impossibly captivating force on an album — her lightly experimental and deeply affecting R&B is an intoxicating swirl of emotional connection, vocal seduction and all-around intimacy. Naturally, all of those qualities are intensified in a live setting, where the Miami-born singer and songwriter surrounds herself with a small band capable of creating a powerful groove. Claudio's music has occasionally been called "nü-quiet storm," referencing the moody but cool, enveloping atmosphere of her music, which plays like a mix of Sade's mellow, Maxwell's neo-soul sincerity and FKA twigs' avant tendencies swirled up with small doses of bossa nova, trip-hop, jazz and modern pop production. But Claudio herself is the primary source of slow-burning magic — when the show strips down to just voice and guitar, the minimalism only enhances her ability to hold audiences rapt. It's no wonder she sparkles as a guest on songs by EDM producers (Chainsmokers, Kaskade) and rappers alike (A$AP Rocky, Wale), not to mention alongside seasoned smooth-talker ZAYN, formerly of One Direction, who appears on Claudio's 2019 album, Truth Is. While A-list collaborations speak to Claudio's immense talent, her artistry talks loudest, even (especially) during her hushed performances.

Sabrina Claudio History

Sabrina Claudio grew up in Fort Lauderdale, the daughter of a Cuban mother and Puerto Rican father. Early immersion in local Latin-influenced dance music eventually transformed into an obsession with the R&B her folks listened to — artists like Mariah Carey and Destiny's Child — while her initial interest in dancing and modeling evolved into the desire to become a fully fledged music artist herself. She first took to YouTube, sharing covers of songs by Amy Winehouse, Beyoncé and Rihanna. She also made the move to Los Angeles to be closer to the music business and, in 2016, began self-releasing her aching, '90s-inspired R&B songs on SoundCloud. Claudio smartly parlayed her rising fame — millions of plays racked up over mere months — into 2017's independent Confidently Lost EP, a gorgeous set of sultry ballads that not only positioned her as the next most exciting voice in R&B, but also scored her a deal with Atlantic. Her About Time mixtape, released before the end of the year, proved that she could transfix listeners across an album's worth of rich, inventive, modern soul. It also paved the way to a spot on the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, and 2018's especially intimate No Rain, No Flowers LP. In late 2019, Claudio returned with Truth Is, an album that found her stepping up her pop chops by working with hitmakers like Julia Michaels and Sir Nolan, while at the same time deepening and darkening her groove-heavy sound and heartrending lyrics.

Previously, Sabrina Claudio has sold out venues to capacity, like Tabernacle (Atlanta) and the House of Blues.

    Sabrina was and is amazing!!!!!

by LULUandBELLA on 10/17/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

My wife and I saw her in Boston last year at a smaller venue and she was amazing!! Voice, music and her interaction with the crowd (we were right by the stage) she really makes you feel a part of her performance. This time at House of Blues in Boston, the show was incredible!!! She gave us an extra song at the end TRUTH IS accompanied by her guitarist (acoustic) and it was such a special moment. Sabrina Claudio is just an amazing artist all around. Such a beautiful performance!!!

SABRINA IS GREAT- VENUE WAS NOT

by Cat on 10/15/19Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

Sabrina is amazing-- I am so surprised more people were not there to support her in Detroit. I did not like the the venue. The set up was not good and the fact it was not stadium set up made it hard to see her with everyone's hands and phones in front of your face.

    Good show

by Jane on 10/11/19Varsity Theater - Minneapolis

The wait to see her was long, because we got there at 6:30pm and she didn’t have anyone opening the show for her. She didn’t get on stage until 8pm. One other thing.. the instrument was a lot louder than her. But she was amazing!

    Night Vibe

    by B. M. on 10/8/19Ace of Spades - Sacramento

The performance was great and there was a great vibe from Sabrina and the crowd. My minor grip is that the meet and great was short. Overall the venue was nice to give a luxury and classical feel with this hint intensity. I advise anyone to go see Sabrina Claudio live as she is a great artist and I love the changes she did in her songs as well.

    AWESOME

by twistedPimp on 10/1/19Ace of Spades - Sacramento

The venue is small but they admit the perfect amount of people. Three bars so there isn't too much movement for drinks. The music was amazing! Gallant is a beast; such a performer. Sabrina is a sultry diva that captivates your attention and leaves you wanting more. I would see her and Gallant again any chance i get.

    Best concert ever

by ONauta on 10/1/19Ace of Spades - Sacramento

I’ve been to a lot of concerts and festivals and this one was by far the best. She has great vocals and the venue had lots of leg room. I had a cold and there were tissue, napkins and water cups within 5 FEET of me!! We chose the corner next to the bar had lots of room to dance and sing. Yet we were still close to the stage and could see her perfectly. The bathroom was clean. Amenities were on point and she was amazing.

    Filled expectations!

    by S. W. on 9/30/19The Wiltern - Los Angeles

There's nothing more disappointing than waiting forever to see one of your favorite artists and then have them sound horrible live. Well that was NOT the case with Sabrina Claudio...she was dynamite! Near the end, her in-ear even stopped working and she still hit every note perfectly. The crowd was totally into it and it was a treat to hear her do a couple of songs acoustically. If I could change anything, it'd be great to have had a monitor or two so those of us up on the balcony could see her face but I know the venue doesn't have any. Looking forward to seeing her again, for sure!

Can’t blame the venue for the crowd

by Etho on 9/30/19House of Blues Anaheim presented by Cricket Wireless - Anaheim

Honestly I had such a blast. I’ve always dreamed of going to see Sabrina Claudio live and it was FINALLY happening. I prepped weeks before the concert by checking Google Maps to see where the different parking structures were, and how far they were from the House of Blues. It’s not all that far! Got a bit lost on the way up there but you eventually figure it out by looking at the directory and asking around. The staff that night was friendly. The women’s restroom attendant was patient and sweet; she didn’t speak a word of English but we got the message: she had candy and gum for us. I was afraid that since the venue was a bit smaller than say the Staple Center in LA for example, I thought my friend and I would have a horrible experience and wouldn’t be able to see Sabrina or the stage at all. But turns out, even if we didn’t get the “best” spots, we still were able to get pretty close and they weren’t horrible. Unfortunately it is standing room only, meaning no assigned seating and you can only get seats if you upgrade to VIP. But for what it’s worth, I’d say having to stand the entire 3-ish hours wasn’t bad. Just make sure to stretch your legs and move around as best you can without hitting the people around you. Speaking of people, some of the concert goers did get pretty annoying since they kept jostling us whenever they wanted to grab drinks or what have you. Eventually my friend and I ended up getting pushed back a little from our previous position when it got closer to Sabrina getting up on stage. That was to be expected though. We had to deal with a couple of drunk folks but again—to be expected—and one of them even dropped their drink on the ground. My poor friend had to make sure to stay away from the spill. The people were annoying and kind of took away from the experience because it was distracting but eh what can you do? It still wasn’t SO BAD to the point where it ruined my whole experience. I’d suggest to really stand your ground once you get a spot and make sure to not let anyone try to scootch their way to get closer. It felt like some people made it seem like they originally had a spot they were trying to return to when really they just were trying to get closer.

Loved it she was amazing! However, I had a good seat but had to move because her side lighting blinded me. Really wish I could have watched her from my original seat but she was still amazing!

Great Way to Spend a Thursday Evening!

by MimiRJ on 9/29/19The Masonic - San Francisco

Gallant and Sabrina Claudio on one stage - it was magic from start to finish! The show started promptly at 8p (THANK YOU so much for that), Gallant’s falsetto is RIDICULOUS, and Sabrina’s voice is so sultry! The only thing was them singing together.

    Beautiful performance. Horrible wait.

by Ken on 9/28/19House of Blues Anaheim presented by Cricket Wireless - Anaheim

Event was set to start at 7. We didn’t see her until 10, after her opener Gallant, who was pretty entertaining but not my type of music. Sabrina took maybe 40 minutes after Gallant to finally appear, but when she did holy cow. The crowd went wild and she was stunning to look at and her voice was amazing. Made it ALMOST worth the obnoxious wait time that totally put a dampen on everyone’s energy while waiting (people were audibly complaining)
