About

The RZA (born Robert Fitzgerald Diggs) is one of the legendary staples of hip-hop mucis. The de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan produced most of the collective's body of work, which also included rappers Method Man, GZA, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah. Following the death of member Ol' Dirty Bastard, Wu-Tang Clan started to branch out, and RZA turned his attention to numerous solo projects while also breaking into film. While the Wu-Tang Clan rarely performs together anymore (they did reunite for the 2013 Coachella Festival), it hasn't prevented RZA from playing concerts with his numerous side projects, though he has personally stated more of an interest in acting and directing as of late.

Since the group's inception in 1992, performances have been notorious for high-energy rapping, gritty instrumentals and flawless chemistry. As a result, tickets to RZA or Wu-Tang Clan concerts sell out fast. Along with five Wu-Tang albums (and a rumored sixth), RZA has also released four solo albums, with the latest being "Digi Snacks" in 2008. RZA goes by several aliases and has also worked with horrorcore group Gravediggaz and Achozen (with Shavo Odadjian from System of a Down).

Arguably the greatest hip-hop group of all-time, Wu-Tang Clan was established by RZA in the early 1990s, along with Staten Island friend Ol' Dirty Bastard. The platinum-selling "Enter the Wu-Tang Clan (36 Chambers)" celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2013. Wu-Tang Clan trademark singles include "Protect Ya Neck," "C.R.E.A.M.," "Reunited" and "Gravel Pit." Classic RZA solo tracks include "You Can't Stop Me Now" and "Kiss of a Black Widow." He has also appeared in over ten films and made his directorial debut in 2012. RZA is the epitome of an 'entertainer.' He has done it all from producing to rapping, acting to directing, marketing to management -- making him a hot commodity on tour.

    The RZA

by JHOV on 4/21/18Warner Theatre - Washington

This was awesome! Had no idea what to expect. RZA scored the entire movie on stage. My only wish was that he gave us a bar or two over the score. Well worth it! Great show! Bong, Bong ZUUUUUU

    Supernatural stole the show

by Anonymous on 10/6/12Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

they brought out a white guy from New Hampshire who spit ultra fast lyrics...pretty skilled but no one was into it. second guy: jewish rapper from brooklyn, he was ok, but again no one really into him. supernatural: fantastic as usual, this guy is so talented it's ridiculous! best part of the show. U-god: played like 4 or 5 songs, but just his verses from wu-songs and then he did a few of his Dopium songs (hips, and some other) Rza: he was cool at first, passing around bottles of grey goose and patron, throwing champagne around, but he let 2 guys that were on stage rap for like 10 min... I don't think he even said their names... but again no one into them since nobody knows them or their lyrics... and then he played a portion of another song and left... it felt like he was there for 20min... I'm sure it was more, but it seemed like the show should be more like: Rza presents a bunch of unknowns. I enjoyed it, and was happy to only pay $25 for it. I was front row which was cool.

    Absolutely classic!

    by Soy11 on 10/6/12Royale Boston - Boston

The RZA has a deep spot in heart. My whole life music has been a guiding light. The truth in the lyrics and the emotions involved with the truth has helped me through some tough times. The RZA is real talent and shows that on stage and throughout his career. I wish there was more love for him! The openings acts were great too! Definitely would like to see more of Kosha Dillz in the area.

    by HOVA3677 on 10/6/12Royale Boston - Boston

The show was unbelievable,RZA is one of my favorite artists and his performance was great. There wasn't a lot of people at the venue but that just Made it even better because the whole crowd got to be up close and personal with the performers. I hope he comes back to Boston soon I'd love to see him again and can't wait to see his movie THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS!!!

    Peace to the Abbot

by REALSOUND on 8/16/10Key Club - Los Angeles

I just gotta say one thing true HIP HOP will never let me done, a real m.c. will never let you down. The show was one of the best I seen, I mean the RZA's set was one of the best I seen. Once heads started movin and people started slam dancing thats the type of energy thats needed at a Hip Hop event. Enough of these lame rappers. Peace.
