    Great night in Reading.

by michaelo on 6/7/15The Santander Performing Arts Center - Reading

I never expected to be as entertained as I was at this show. The openers were very good and then the Wailers got us to lively up ourselves. Rusted Root took every bit of energy left and left the crowd very satisfied.

As usual, another awesome set from Rusted Root!

by Stoobz on 6/5/15State Theatre - New Brunswick

When I bought the tickets for this event, I was totally convinced that Rusted Root was the main act, so I was disappointed to learn that the were on before the Wailers. But, they were given the same amount of time as the Wailers and once again, they put on a fantastic spirited set. Drawing songs mostly from When I Woke, the band had me up and dancing, (which is something I just cannot refrain from doing when RR is playing). The crowd was predominately Wailers fans, so we actually moved to the side section so we could get up and dance without disturbing the sitting Wailers fans. The venue itself was very nice. I had attending Rutgers from 82 to 86 and I don't really remember knowing about this historic theater. I was told it went through a "dark" period so perhaps that was during my time there. The theater is beautiful, comfortable and the sound was great. The staff there was helpful and very friendly. My only complaint is the $10 12oz cans of beer. I understand the theater is a non-profit, so I guess I can just mark that down as a donation.

    Worse Than Awful

by AuthorizedUser on 3/14/15Uptown Theater - Kansas City

The acoustics of the Uptown Theater are generally great. This group had some serious audio production problems. Mixing was worse than awful.

    Good Value

by ILBallet on 3/10/15Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

I went to this because of Rusted Root, and ended up enjoying the second half of the concert with The Wailers more. Maybe it was our location (mezzanine) but, for my taste, Rusted Root seemed to have way too much amplification. The instruments overwhelmed the vocals and my husband said he felt the sound was distorted. I wondered whether that was somewhat intentional,as it seemed the vocal range of the lead was diminished, when it was able to be heard (sore throat? Illness?). I found myself marvelling at techinically visual things, such how the songs flowed into each other without a full break for applause and how the drummer never got to stop at all. I felt the drummer did not get as full an applause at the end of the RR part of the concert as he was due. The volume for The Wailers was less problematic --you could actually pick up most of the lyrics -- and they had a more theatrical presence. I just enjoyed the music. You cannot beat this for value, though: almost 3 hours of professional music for $33, without having to haul into Chicago.

Great seeing Rusted Root at the Genesee!

by froggiiii on 3/9/15Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Rusted Root opened, probably my 4th time seeing them live. One of my top ten fave bands! High energy set, with a pretty high energy audience for mostly older crowd. New & older material done. Great to hear them in a venue with good acoustics. The Wailers were good also. Almost everyone in the fist 20 rows stood up, and remained standing, with the 1st note of the first song. So we moved to empty seats toward the back of the theater. Sound was actually better toward the back, under the balcony. A couple unfamiliar to me songs at the start of the set, then they played most of Legends. Not a lot of spontaneity, it seemed pretty much like a canned set. But I'm not a rabid Wailers fan, and there were most certainly a good number of these folks at the show. I love the Genesee. Just wish there were a good really good eating options within a couple blocks of the theater.

Great show - Great double bill

by Mikebongo on 3/9/15Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

I just saw Rusted Root & Wailers @ The Genesee Theater, and what a great show this was. Rusted Root opened the night - started with Welcome to my Party, and then kept running through several songs from their catalog. They played lots of songs from their debut CD, including lost in the crowd, drum trip, ecstasy, Martyr, and encoring with send me on my way. They played with great energy. The Wailers came on second, and pretty much kept the momentum going. People were on their feet dancing the whole time as they ran through all the hits, and more. Songs included Jammin', could you be loved, redemption song, I shot the sheriff, and many more. All in all a great time. One note - I strongly recommend that The Genesee Theater do more shows there. Easy parking, good sound, good sight lines, and fairly easy to get to. I would like to see more events at this venue.

    Great show but.....................

by MrWonderfultoo on 3/9/15Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Overall the show was great but it was very disappointing that they switched up who was the opening band last minute and Rusted Root went on first. Unfortunately I was late thinking I had plenty of time to see the headliner.

Both new stuff, and their classics, they rocked it better than ever. Albums don't do this band any justice...seeing is believing.

    Still Got It!

by amylovesmusic on 2/23/15Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Amazing show, as expected! I first saw RR at a college show 20 years ago and the magic & chemistry of the band has only gotten better. They are truly gifted musicians who still know how to kick ass. The setlist spans the generations and you will be so sorry if you miss this tour!

    Rusted Root Amazing

by psychoangie on 2/17/15Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

I saw this band 10 years ago and they are always a great time. At 49 years old i felt like a college kid dancing and feeling great. They are real musicians, not some band that creates their music on a computer. They flow together like a band from the 70s, they harmonize. I would highly recommend this bands and their good vibe, the same happy vibe that i feel when see Michael Franti live.

    Rusted Roots

by Geechie on 2/17/15Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

We really enjoyed seeing this band live! The instrumentation was vibrant and the lead singer has a wonderful voice and presence. He even sang an Elvis song which he sang with Rusted Roots style. The percussions take you away. The drummer, although looking like a kid, was wonderful and exciting. Opening act, Larkin and Poe was a totally different vibe. It was very dark music in stark contrast to Rusted Roots and couldn't wait to get to the band we came to see.

Seen them many times but like i said their sound was great! Only downfall; seats? Wish they had a standing room only in front of the stage but it was still great! Thanks
