I'm still Buzzzzzzing from meeting Rupaul. He is so welcoming and sweet. Ru is so engaging with his audience and we could have listened to him aaaaaalllllll night! We all wanted more. Tell him to go longer next time. And maybe an outfit change once in awhile. He know he has all those amazing suits. Hahaha
The talk was about an hour and the fact I wanted it to be longer is a compliment. Ru talked about his childhood and journey through his career and personal life. And also his path to a more fully formed human. I was a distant fan but after hearing his interview on NPR and seeing him live I’m an even bigger fan. Can’t wait to read his book!
What an amazing show. Rupaul is a gifted speaker. He radiates warmth and it draws you in like a magnet. Wonderful.
The afternoon with RuPaul Charles was a delight as it seemed as if I was in the company of an old friend. His stories about the timeframe, when he was 16-26 yrs. old, living in Atlanta was very relatable to my own experience at that age. This wisdom shared and laughs were worth the trip!
As always, the Tabernacle is a great experience and Rupaul was absolutely amazing. I bought these tickets for my sisters 50th birthday because she is in love with Rupaul and has been for years. We buried our mom the day before and I knew we both needed a pick me up after that and of course Rupaul delivered. My sister started crying happy tears as soon as he came on stage. She held onto his every word and her spirit was raised. The Tabernacle is an old church and I felt like we were in the church of Rupaul and he was teaching positivity and to love everyone. Thank you Rupaul for loving everyone, especially my sister! It was like you gave us a big hug on a day we really needed it. You spoke eloquently and from the heart. You laugh is infectious and you are a wonderful mentor to our City. Congrats on getting Rupaul day!!! You deserve it!
The RuPaul show was amazing. He was so personable and provided such inspiration to all of us. I am an even bigger fan now.
RuPaul was phenomenal! He is the kindest, sweetest, & just genuinely nice. I could listen to him talk all day. He was wonderful! He talked about serious things, funny things, emotional things, but everything he said was just perfect! Highly recommend seeing him live! 14 out of 10!!
Rupaul is a class act, and that is exactly what you will get with this show - something classy. Imagine being on Drag Race and Rupaul comes to your station to ask you how you are preparing for the next challenge. Got it? You've observed this exchange many times... The show is kind of like that for an hour... feels like Rupaul is providing guidance of how to succeed in the upcoming challenge. That's it... that's the show. While Rupaul is bigger than his drag persona, he is also synonymous with drag. This show completely omits drag and is not mentioned. Just a smidge of the fierce Rupaul we see on his show would be welcomed in this show. But, was not to be.
Wonderful experience. RuPaul is a mixture of guru, comedian and coach. I learned, I laughed, I cried. Love love love RuPaul!
The show and experience were great. RuPaul was wonderful. The communication about the VIP experience was almost non-existent. Finally received an email ~24 hours in advance (little time to make plans). They told us we had to be in line by 6pm. Kept us waiting outside in the cold for 50 minutes. Confusion over how to get our photos. Once we got in, the experience was well organized.
