About

El-P and Killer Mike, two of the most distinctive and celebrated names in rap, might have seemed like an unlikely pairing on paper, but the duo subverted and pulverized all expectations with their critically lauded Run The Jewels collaborative LP. Tapping into the creative synergy they'd discovered in 2012 on Mike's R.A.P. Music album (produced by El-P) and El's Cancer 4 Cure album (featuring Mike), Run The Jewels cemented their musical alliance with a set of uncompromisingly raw, forward thinking hip-hop, garnering limitless critical accolades including the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, XXL, SPIN, New York Times, and many more.

    Spot on performance.

by TheWakingEye on 1/19/17EXPRESS LIVE! - Columbus

Killer Mike and El-P know how to work the crowd. I had a great time and the energy was through the roof. Perfect performances complimented by great stage presence. I can't wait to see them again.

    High energy but lousy sound

by PittRTJ on 1/16/17STAGE AE - Pittsburgh

The opening acts sounded fine, but when RTJ came on stage, the sound engineer seems to have put the bass up to eleven and then mentally checked out.

The MOST Lit Show of 2017

    by JMurr92 on 1/14/17Electric Factory - Philadelphia

This was my 2nd time seeing RTJ and they did not disappoint. One of the best duos you could hope for. Vocals and sound on point, and they feed off of each other's energies. You HAVE TO go.

    holy christ on a cracker...

by TheColdestAugust on 1/14/17Electric Factory - Philadelphia

to preface: i'm not typically a rap fan. i came across RTJ's music from an ex of mine and was completely hooked. so when it came time to see them live, i jumped at the opportunity. i've been to many a rock/metal show in my day, so i expected it to not be my scene... i was skeptical due to the fact that my idea of rap shows meant standing around and bobbing your head to the music while a rapper stands there and just spits bars. i was pleasantly surprised. killer mike and el-p have more energy than a bunny rabbit on red bull. and the crowd... my goodness. when the first song hit, everyone started bouncing up and down and rapping along to a song from an album (i believe they opened with "talk to me"?) that was only released 3 weeks prior. it was almost a spiritual experience seeing these two. they're funny, charismatic, and incredibly talented. their live energy is unmatched, and is entertaining to both the hardcore hip-hop head, and the casual listener (like myself). if you get a chance (and the show isn't sold out already)... go. GOGOGOGO.

    RTJ are back

by Andrethegreat on 1/14/17Electric Factory - Philadelphia

Loved the energy throughout the show, they did every song I wanted them too, and most of all the crowd was great, couldn't have asked for a better experience with my favorite rap duo

The hour and a half wait of the DJ and his "friend" was terrible. Once Run The Jewels actually came on, it was awesome. 45 minute show for 1.5 hours of filler though! I would have finished the show at Boston Calling, finished my drink at the bar, THEN come to see RTD had I known they would go on so late!

    Runnin Jewels Fast

    by BroccoliRob1 on 12/3/14Stage 48 - New York

The concert was insane, but honestly it was too loud for my taste. It was honestly pretty painful. My ears were ringing for 2 days. It really was amazing though. Run the Jewels had a ton of energy and were a lot of fun. I'd go back any day.

They killed it, plain and simple

by VictoryLow on 12/2/14Stage 48 - New York

Venue is interesting because it is small but because it is Killer Mike and El-P, they made the place explode. People there were awesome, sound was great (borderline too loud), good times were had by all.

Run the Jewels Blew the house down

by Filz on 12/1/14Paradise Rock Club - Boston

After pretty good opening performances by Despot and Ratking, not a soul could truly grasp the energy that was to come from the crowd when the beat for Run the Jewels dropped. From then on it was a tremendous performance from some serious entertainers who knew how to get a crowd going.
