I had never been to see Rooney before, and I didn't know what to expect. The Intersection in Grand Rapids isn't a large venue, so I didn't think it would be that crazy. It wasn't too packed, which gave me mixed feelings. A) I was happy about it because I don't like feeling I'm in a pack of sardines. B) I was a little unhappy about it because I feel like everyone in Grand Rapids should be in on how amazing Rooney is. They have been my favorite band since 2003, they are still really amazing. They played a mix of songs from all of their albums, and that made me really happy because I was a little bummed that I missed out on past concerts... but they quickly remedied that for me. The crowd was hype and very into all of the songs. Robert has a really great stage presence and I was so happy to get this show crossed of my to-do-before-I-die list. I met several girls there and now we are good friends. After the show, we waited in the very cold Michigan weather with the hopes that the band will come outside. It was only me and the group of girls waiting, but I don't know what it was like inside. If you weren't buying merch, you had to get out. Eventually Robert came outside. He was nice, and sweet, and seemed pleased to have a new face in the crowd. He was seemed nice enough to take a picture with me, which I was excited about but try not to show I was too geeked. I would have loved to chat longer with him, but it was really, really cold outside so we all said our goodbyes and departed. It was the best night of my life so far... More Rooney shows to come! I hope he remembers me. :D
