  • Ron Carter Trio

What can you say about a Living Legend? I would have liked some reaching back to his more experimental days w/ Miles & Dolphy, but it is what it is and traditional jazz doesn't get much better than this. His bandmates were all up to his level too.

Wonderful sound and it looked like they were enjoying each other on the stage and the audience. Gave an encore.

  • Ron Carter Trio - outstanding Jazz

These three guys were amazing. All did things with their instruments that I didn't know were possible. Together, they made great smooth jazz. They played some old standards and a few cuts from their upcoming release. It was very interesting to see the discussions between the instruments and how much fun the performers were having. Definitely worth seeing/hearing if they come to your area.

Ron Carter is so cool you need a parka to watch his set. 75 years old, 2500 albums and still the best bassist in the world. The Carter trio was magnificent.

  • Ron Carter was outstanding.

by EyBA on 10/16/10Berklee Performance Center - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Ron Carter was extraordinary. But all of the components of the set, the music arrangements by Eric Gould, his piano performance, and the music transcribe for the strings section, were all outstanding. Even the students from the Berklee World Strings showed a feel for the music, which enhanced its presentation. It was a great show.
