About Rogers Cup - WTA Women's Tennis
Many of the world's greatest tennis players will come to Toronto on August 3-11 for the 2019 Rogers Cup women's tournament, the premier event in Canadian tennis. The event is designated as a Premier 5 tournament by the Women's Tennis Association, with the winner receiving $2,369,000 and earning 900 points in the WTA scoring system.
Founded in 1881 as the Canadian Championships, the Rogers Cup is third to only Wimbledon and the U.S. Open as the oldest major tennis tournament. Women's competition began in 1892, with women's doubles debuting in 1968, the same year the Canadian Championships became known as the Canadian Open. The women's tournament has been sponsored by Rogers Communications since 2001, and the men's and women's tournaments have been collectively known as the Rogers Cup since 2005.
There are two separate but concurrent events that make up the Rogers Cup, which alternate between Toronto and Montreal every year. For 2019, the Rogers Cup WTA event will take place at Toronto's Aviva Centre, a 12,500-seat venue on the campus of York University. The 8,000-seat IGA Stadium in Montreal will host the men's tournament in 2019 and 2021 and the women's tournament in 2020 and 2022. Opened in 2004, the Aviva Centre was known as the Rexall Centre until 2015 and was the tennis venue for the 2015 Pan American Games.
Romanian Simona Halep won the Rogers Cup in 2016 and 2018, joining such noted multiple tournament champions as Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Monica Seles, and Justine Henin. The record for singles titles in this event is a whopping 10 by Canadian athlete Lois Moyes Bickle, who dominated what was then known as the Canadian Championships in the early 20th century. Martina Navratilova is close behind with six Canadian doubles and three Canadian singles titles.

Well organized event, convenient parking and efficient shuttles to and from venue. Overall i had enjoyed a great day of tennis!
This is a cozy tennis venue that's not too crowded. Tickets were relatively inexpensive. I would go back again. Alcohol is expensive though and food was lacking.
It was a great venue! Easy to navigate and view the game.
Been waiting a long time to experience the Rogers cup in Toronto. Was not disappointed from all the top players and all of the action going on around the stadiums it was great. Had fun participating in the fun zones, and enjoying the various foods and drinks looking forward to going again. Oh and not to forget the great shopping at the Sportlife store.
Everything was amazing, from the staff at the event to the games and Serena won :)
Great experience! Wonderfully organized!! Enjoyed the smaller venue. Felt more up-close and personal. Staff were very helpful.
The Rogers Cup is an excellent opportunity to watch many of the top stars of tennis in an intimate venue which is relatively inexpensive to the Majors. There is not a bad seat in the IGA stadium.
Not enough parking. I am handicap and it was full. Then got a $61.00 parking ticket.,
