    What talent!

by Getngrey on 11/24/15Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

What a talented group of musicians. Some of the song sounded repetitive but each one was played to the fullest with a lot of spirit and heart. I wish these guys all the luck in the world.

    Great concert

by SandiSchatz on 11/23/15Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

I was in the front row center and my seat was worth every penny for this fantastic evening. Julian Bliss and the members of his group are all incredible musicians and they played many of the Goodman favorites including "Sing, Sing, Sing." In the second half they veered away from Goodman and were equally well enjoyed by everyone. This is their first U.S. tour and Rockford was their first stop. I think we gave them a rousing American welcome.

    Outstanding musicians

by BAfh on 11/23/15Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

This was an amazing experience. All seven musicians are masters of their instruments. The music was upbeat and enormously fun to hear. The narrative of Benny Goodman's career was informative and enhanced the performance. Loved every minute!

    Moscow Ballet Festival excellent performance

by Tiggrr on 5/7/14Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

The Coronado Theatre is a perfect venue for this event. Excellent seating, acoustics and viewing anywhere in the theatre. We sat in the upper balcony middle section second row. The ballet was well performed, costumes were good. Overall a good performance, but a bit long, 2-1/2 hours. Music and dance in second and third acts very repetitive of the first act. This should be a two hour performance. Tiggrr RUV

This performance of Sleeping Beauty was breathtaking. From the first entrance of the dancers to the last curtain call, I was mesmerized. The dancers were on point, impeccable and elegant. It is a performance I will never forget and would see 100 times if possible.

by CricketNo4 on 4/6/14Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

Chamber music is my favorite and right now the Lysander quartet is my favorite group. Really beautiful! I especially appreciated the variety of styles in the programing. I can't wait until they have a recording available.

    E. von Trapp and Brass - a warm winter's evening

by Debralice on 12/13/13Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

The only thing that would make the evening better would be a comfortable couch, a blanket and a cup of hot cocoa. The entertainment was warm and inviting. Elisabeth puts an avant garde spin on the familiar songs of the season. Intriguing! The Carolian Brass was amazing -- I could listen to them all night. Outstanding arrangements. The trombone player from Madison was a standout. The humor and good feelings the members had for each other spilled out over the audience.

Yamato --- The Drummers of Japan --- OUTSTANDING!!

by Anonymous on 11/11/13Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! This group brought dance, music, and athleticism together in a manner I have never witnessed before! The authentic Japanese drums ranged from "small" to over 1,000 pounds. The drummers performed in perfect synchronism. Although they did not "talk" with the audience, the communication between the two was extensive, clear, and thoroughly enjoyed by the entire audience. I cannot give too much praise for the qualitiy and entertainment value fo this performance and hope that they return to Rockford.

It was truly the best concert we have been too. Music, just drums, does cross language and cultural barriers. Amazing group of young men and women. Would love to see it again. It was indescribable.

    Yamato went beyond my expectaions!!!!!

by CFO1951 on 11/4/13Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

Talent fused with musical ability and ignited with physicality during the Yamato performance. The artists pounded on the drums and played with the enthusiastic audience. I have been to many types of concerts at the Coronado, and I must say that the drummers appealed to all ages, and cheers were offered up throughout the performance.

    Incredible, amazing, mesmerizing and FUN!

by Pettine on 11/4/13Coronado Performing Arts Center - Rockford

Anyone who has a chance to see these guys in action needs to go! I've been following them since I first saw them overseas in what must have been one of their very first tours in the mid 90s. Whenever I see that they're coming close to us, we're going and have never been disappointed. The music is a completely different experience and paired with their passion for it, this is just an awe inspiring performance. The members of the group go all out, every single time. You can see it on their faces, the joy of performing for an audience what they live and breathe every day. The Coronado theater was the perfect location - its uniqueness giving you an idea of what a great evening it would become. 5 stars is not enough to rate this event...
