    Bruno Mars rock!

by gabrielnj38 on 5/24/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

the event was really awesome, i highly recommend. But the singers that they brought that was not really great. I know rock in rio for years and I really expected more. Bottom of the line? Money was not worth it! Not so many available choices for drinks Food WAY EXPENSIVE! I paid $45 for 2 chicken balls (coxinhas) and 2 pasteis and 1 guarana. My second day there I couldn't spend anything else, so I ate outside and went back to the show.

    All around amazing venue

by Auburnmoon on 5/23/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

Rock in Rio was a blast, I went for May the 9th and traveled all the way from Texas just to go. The venue was extremely organized, all info was up front and not hidden about where it was located, what was allowed, and how to pick up tickets. Crowds where absolutely huge, this being my first concert(s) was a little overwhelming. We stayed the entire day from 3:00pm until 2:00am. We watched Of mice and men ( actually first time hearing them, now going to see them in SA on the 27th) all the way to the end of Metallica. Water is really high here and you will definately need if you plan on staying all day we paid 16 dollars for just 4 bottles for all day(2 per person) they don't let you bring your own water in unless it's sealed upon arrival but with that being said you can only bring one. We where front and center when Metallica hit the stage, so we had an amazing view but had to stay there an hour before Rise Against in order to get spots. So by the time metallica came out we had been standing there since 6pm. So we where extremely fatigued by the time metallica came out, crowd rushed the stage so hard our feet where off the ground at times. But was still amazing none the less, if we had not got there before rise against we would've wound up wat in the back for metallica. We ended up catching a pick and one of the balls Metallica throws out. Other then overpricing ( which is the case for most venues) we had a great time. If you plan to buy merchandise however you got to make sure to buy at 3 as soon as the gate opens, because after that the lines only get longer and where quite long at 3!

Jessie J & Bruno Mars Rocked The Place!!!!!

by 2ularbell on 5/22/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

Fantastic concert, Thought the entry could have been better we were segregated in to make and female in lines which I found a bit uneasy not been with my husband for at least an hour in the queue. James Bay was the first act we saw and he was great, there was a bit of a lull then until thr next act so we walked around and saw the rest of the ground, we are from the UK but found the street boring, Ida was fantastic with the street dancers and Brazil was quite lively too. Drinks and food I found to be quite expensive and the pre loaded wrist band was a bit of a con I think, as they charged $3.50 for the refund, I also got sick of the attendants at the bars asking constantly did I want to add gratuity!!?? These people were only handing me a can of beer!!! On one occasion one girl replied when I said no thank you said " oh!!! How am I going to feed my children!!!! To which I replied, you will probably earn more in one night than I earn in a month, the tipping has got out of reality. We had a 2 day pass and the rest of the concert went fantastic I think the organisation was terrific I never once waited for the loos, the AstroTurf was a great idea we a lot of people sat, I couldn't understand how a lot of people managed to bring blankets in to sit on as it stated in the rules they wasnt aloud. Sniffer dogs were used on entry but the place stunk of weed??? Exit on the last evening was poor as we walked around and the walk was quite long as we got to the SLS people had been let out on the side exit. Having said all this I'm sure they will get it right for next time. All in all a resounding success Fantastic concert thank you, Jessie, Ed, Bruno, James shone !! Unfortunately we missed Taylor as it was freezing and we left early.

No Doubt, Mana, and Metallica... rocked my soul!

by jazzyjay13 on 5/22/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

I wish every Thursday night now that I'm packing to drive to Vegas for rock in Rio. I want to go back every weekend and do it all over again! I'm so sad it came to an end in just one weekend. I was able to be front row for both nights and I don't regret the wait in the sun or the leg pain of not moving all day! I can't wait for the next rock in rio. Bring back Metallica!!!

    Wasted $600

by ChickandMom on 5/22/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

The place was like a ghost town. We came from New Orleans for Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars. We watched Jesse J Friday night then waited around for a couple of hours for Taylor to perform - she wasn't scheduled till 11:10 (1:10 a.m. New Orleans time) - we still had an hour to go and we were freezing and bored so we left. Saturday night we planned to get there late, in time to see Bruno Mars, again at 11:10, but we went to our comfy cozy hotel room and ended up not wanted to venture out that late again. The trip was a total, EXPENSIVE bust.

My 4th Rock in Rio in the 4th country (Lisboa, Madrid, Rio and Vegas)! It was awesome, the organization better than in Brazil (the host county of the event) and like Lisbon and Madrid! I can tell this because i am from Brazil and we have to improve in Rio for this year. The cashless event was the best idea!

Rock In Rio was an experience i wont forget

by MJnLeo on 5/21/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

The event was amazing. The lines to get through security were a bit long but that was expected. I liked that the event was cashless so it was something I didn't have to worry about. They had plenty of food and drink options. The stages were incredible and fit the artist very well. I would definitely attend again if this show comes back. It was awesome. Zip lining was a big bonus and just made the whole thing even more awesome.

    Taylor Swift

by Cocoabluff on 5/21/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

First, the event grounds were poorly laid out and staff had no idea of answers to questions. No one after two hours could guess at will call. No signs or knowledgeable to help. I will never return to this venue. I an disabled, riding a four wheel power chair. Taylor, who I have loved for years, acted like she just wanted to get the night over didn't relate at all to her Vegas Fans. She simply every song on 1989. She did play 2 from Red which reproduced to match her new cool style. I Applaud her new music, but she can't toss out 80% of the music that got her here I'm 62 years old and could have sung along to every previous album. But in this instance no one sang along. I'm glad I got a chance to see her, but if she is going to keep her wide spread fan base, let het not forget that 10,000' people were disappointed. Never again. In fact most everyone I spoke with said the same.

    Closing Day 2- Pop Weekend

by Vegas4U on 5/21/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

I guess there were complaints earlier about how the event wristbands allowed 1-entry only per day. Because on the 2nd day event staff were telling fans they can Enter 2x each day. Rather than the original 1x entry only policy when fans picked Up their wristbands @ Will Call. Anyhow the ladies who performed ruled the night. Jesse J. & Sydney of Echosmith . As for the men, Empire of The Sun & Bruno Mars made the long night wait worth it.

    Day 1-Pop Weekend

by Vegas4U on 5/21/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

Taylor Swift as expected put on a great show, as the last artist to play the main stage. She was though 30 mins late. Which wasn't good for the fans who've been waiting most of the evening in chilly & windy weather. When I got there Tove Lo just got on the mercedes Stage. To get the crowd excited ect. The Rock City was okay, there was hip hop dance crew & assorted street performers working the street. The venue had some nice but over priced food vendors etc.

My baby (Bruno to you) was incredible!!!!

by Shoe44 on 5/20/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

My experience at Rock in Rio was bittersweet! Let's talk "bitter" first. I paid $1,098.00 for two VIP wristbands ($499.00 each). Although the wristbands gave us access to the VIP tent that was catered and facing the stage, we were LIGHT YEARS away from the stage. I couldn't breast-feed my baby that far away! For that kind of money, I want to be ON the stage. My daughter and I tried to go into the general admission area to get closer to the stage but it was impossible. To make matters worse, we returned to the VIP tent to get as close as we could but we were turned away from entering the "sky box" type seats because they were "reserved" for corporate sponsors. In addition, that catered food might fly in Europe but in the good 'ol US, we need REAL food. Needless to say, I was not happy with the food! As a matter of fact, for the amount of money I spent on the wristbands, airfare, baggage and hotel charges, I feel like we should have been served steak and lobster! Now for the "sweet" side of this story....Since we could see nothing, I asked to speak with the manager. Long story short, "Young Lee" saved the day and we ultimately had a GREAT time! Thanks Young! :)

the weekend was a surreal blur

by humbera on 5/20/15Rock in Rio - MGM Resorts Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

Performances were definitely not scheduled so that all attractions at rock in rio were able to be enjoyed as was advertised. Had to run from one stage to the next to catch certain acts that were on separate stages back to back. Loved the majority of the acts that were scheduled. A little disappointed that one of the main acts I bought tickets for ended up canceling and was not replaced with someone equally as awesome. Enjoyed the nonperformance related attractions. Wish there were more vegan friendly options available for food. Performers were not able to be viewed from any angle as was advertised.
