  • The Amerks look great!

    by Zetaman1 on 10/19/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

My son wanted to see the Amerks for his birthday. We requested happy bday wishes for the scoreboard and got them on the board between periods. One of the penalty box attendants gave my son a puck from the warm up, which he loved! The game was a great Amerks victory. The store was nice. The Arena was nice. The bathrooms were nice and very clean even though there had been an event the night before. If I lived closer to Rochester i would be season ticket holder!

  • The Amerks Experience is Back!

by PenguinChica on 10/16/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

After the past few pathetic seasons at the War Memorial, Opening Night was like Amerks games of old! Though the team does have a way to go as far as performance and getting back to the top of the league (as we all remember them) the environment was back to the way I remember it from before when the Sabres were our parent team. The one major downfall was that the concessions were extremely slow everywhere in the arena, they have a lot to do as far as being able to deal with crowds of 9,000+ so that fans don't have to miss half of the first period just to get a couple hot dogs and fries. The variety also has something to be desired as it seems that EVERY stand offers the same thing (hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, popcorn, soda). Overall the HOCKEY experience is back, it feels like a hockey game again, not some pathetic school event where just the kids parents show up to give half-hearted support in an oversized space for the event.

  • program

    by PAT16 on 10/16/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 3 out of 5

Would have liked a better program.. Paid $2.00 for a picture of Ryan Miller??? Wanted to get some info on the Amerks players.. Pictures..stats...draft info...anything... Would have rather paid $5.00 for a real program Take a look at RIT'S program from Saturday's game I bought and enjoyed that program very much

  • Amerks Home Opener

by MarkDec on 10/15/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

Great crowd. Good pregame ceremony. Bad result. Amerks have a young team and will get better.

  • by greeneyedmnky on 10/15/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

I had a great time even though the concession lines were long and the team lost.

  • Great start to hockey season!

Seats were great! The new video scoreboard is very nice. We enjoyed the game even though they lost.

  • Amerks Opener

    by kennycap1 on 10/15/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 2 out of 5

Sound system requires updating. There are no shots on goal display. Concessions were a disaster. Horrendous waits in line. Running out of items. Overpriced compared to Red Wings.

  • Amerks came this close....

by Ringers on 4/12/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

It went into an overtime shootout. What more could you ask for (except maybe a win).

  • Amerks Night

by Skizzard on 3/14/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Friday nights game Rochester Americans vs. Toronto Marlies will be a memorable one for my family. Although Amerks went down 6-0 they fought their way back scoring 5 straight. With a little more than 1 min to go they went into a powerplay which made it real exciting and the fans were pumped. Unfortunatly they did not score. I rated our experience 5 stars because of the Amerks no die attitude. Also, I was able to catch a puck that made my 8 year old son's night.

  • Sweet!

Great value for your entertainment dollar...quite the show!

  • Gotta Love the Amerks!

by Tinahawaii on 3/2/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great game. The Amerks won in overtime. The other fans were enjoying the game as well. There is always a lot to watch even if you are not always watching the ice action. They had some young kids play on the ice in between the periods. They are so cute!

  • Amerks were awsome

    by REDLY1 on 2/28/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Excellant, the boys beat the Moose, the beer was cold and it was alot of fun.

We had a wonderful family outing. We were sitting behind the Amerks bench. At one point a hockey puck flew into the bench and a player (Taylor) tunred around and tossed the puck to my seven year old. It made her day. The game was great, they won and it was a memorable night for our family.

  • Fast Action

    by jortola1 on 2/19/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Hockey is so much more exciting in person! Hearing the blades scrape the ice, and the hits against the boards can't be captured on TV. Give it a try!!

  • One loudmouth

    by dlb10 on 2/14/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

The game itself, and our seats, were great. However, right behind us we did have one loudmouth Rochester "fan" who did nothing but yell very negatively all night to and at the Rochester players. In the third period he got real sarcastic. My thought: If he so disliked the quality of play from "his" team.....then why was he even there. Maybe if his name was (is) Crosby, Orr, Hull, or Malkin he would have been a bit more tolerable. But, as a loudmouth he became a bit of a "show" (a bad show, but a show) himself....and maybe that was his point (?). One telling observation.....he sat alone all night.

  • Amerks game

by TommyRoch on 2/14/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 2 out of 5

Entertaining but a tough year this year for the Amerks. Not many scoring opportunities during the game. Attendance was low but since breaking away from the Buffalo Sabres that seems to be par for the course. Ticket selection on line was misleading. I wanted to be lower level near red line. Choice given was in the right section but did not realize that behind the players bench the rows start at row C. I was expecting to be up 3 rows higher than we actually were. It is difficult to see past the standing coaches and trainers when seated directly behind them. Since it wasn't crowded we moved back a few rows so we could see better. Next time I will know better.

  • Great venue!

by Anonymous on 2/7/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

We had great seats and the venue was much nicer than anticipated...now, if only Rochester had played a little better!

  • My nephews first game, an unforgettable night.

    by Rick2011 on 1/18/11Blue Cross Arena - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

I took 2 of my nephews out for my birthday (ages 5 and 8) and couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable evening. We didn't win the game but we won the night!

Too expensive - Poor play Wonderful place if you are 15-23, emotionally stunted, and not ready to act appropriately DO NOT BRING KIDS OR YOUR WIFE/DATE Actually if given a choice between this and a root canal - head to the dentist
