Roberto Carlos Live in Concert
Brazilian pop-rock trailblazer Roberto Carlos is known to many as "the King of Latin Music." With a career spanning more than half a century, Carlos has sold more than 140 million albums globally and is considered one of the most influential pop artists in Brazil and the world. With the help of co-writer and frequent collaborator Erasmo Carlos, Roberto Carlos has written more than three dozen Top 10-charting singles.
Born to a lower middle-class family in 1941, Carlos began playing the guitar and piano as a child. At just 9 years old, he performed for the first time at a children's show broadcast by Rádio Cachoeiro, where he won first prize and became a regular performer.
As a teenager, Carlos moved to Rio de Janeiro and formed a band originally called the Snacks, which was later renamed the Sputniks. In the late '50s, Carlos went solo and performed bossa nova in the style of Brazilian singer João Gilberto. When his first full-length album, 1961's Louco Por Você (Crazy for You), failed to achieve commercial success, Carlos switched back to rock music.
As a pop/rock musician, Carlos drew influence from then-popular American and British acts such as Little Richard, Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, and The Beatles. He eventually became the face of "Jovem Guarda" (Young Guard), which started as a TV show hosted by Carlos but eventually became a catchphrase for a Brazilian musical movement influenced by the Western midcentury rock and roll wave. Carlos' 1964 album, É Proibido Fumar, especially exemplified this upbeat sound and style, also known in Brazil as iê-iê-iê ("yeah-yeah-yeah").
In the late '60s, Carlos began to pivot his artistry to specialize more in love songs. Along with close collaborator Erasmo Carlos, Roberto Carlos penned now-famous hits such as "Detalhes," "Sua Estupidez," "Jesus Cristo," and "Debaixo dos Caracóis dos Seus Cabelos," earning him Grammy accolades and top chart placements in Latin America. Carlos' love songs became especially popular in neighboring Argentina, and by the '70s, he had become the best-selling Brazilian musician in history.
In 1988, Carlos won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Performance, plus several Latin Grammys in the early 2000s. In 2015, the Latin Recording Academy honored him with the prestigious Person of the Year award. In 2009, Carlos celebrated his 50th anniversary as a performer, touring through North and South America to honor the achievement alongside fans. More recently, Carlos released his 2018 Spanish-language album Amor Sin Límite, which featured duets with Jennifer Lopez ("Llegaste") and Alejandro Sanz ("Esa Mujer").

I spent very nice night with my singer Roberto Carlos .. although they bothered big lights on his face complicated photos but it was very well organized 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🎉🎉🎉
Nonstop entertainment with all his greatest hits, loved Roberto Carlos!
I’m deducting a star because he mostly sang in Spanish rather than his native Portuguese. I wanted to hear him not his Mexican counterpart.
Great show and proud to see so many happy people and singing together during the presentation of Roberto Carlos
Very entertaining. The light show was impressive, although a bit much sometimes. The musicians were top notch. Roberto Carlos, as always, excellent, funny, and the selection of songs could just have been better if the show was longer. Speaking of which, it was a long show...in a good way. Totally satisfying.
I was able to score front row seats thanks to Ticketmaster. Roberto Carlos is my wife's idol since she was a kid. On a few different occasions he smiled and directed his conversations directly to my wife. She was able to receive 3 roses he gives away at the end of the show. My wife melted! I was very pleased to see my wife so happy! Happy wife, happy life! Thank you Ticketmaster.
Nice I love me encanto volvería a berlo lo recomiendo
He was very charismatic and gave a great show/performance. He hasn’t lost his touch!
Very very good show. Upstanding band and beautiful songs
While I couldn't understand anything the man was singing I very much enjoyed the show. He was a very good singer. Very classy. My overall experience was wonderful.
The show was fantastic. Roberto Carlos was just simply divine.
Great as always! Engaging the public and singing all the gems i Spanish and Portuguese
Concert was good but he spoke way too much Spanish. He should stick to just Portuguese or English (which all educated people in the U.S. speak). Mixing Portuguese and Spanish is annoying, even though I speak both. He sings much better in Portuguese anyway.
The sound was great, not too loud, I got to hear my favorite song, Roberto Carlos did not disappoint! He still has that wonderful voice, I love the words to his songs. I never thought I would have the opportunity to be in the same room - it was amazing!
Unbelievable! Roberto Carlos is an A+ world class performer. What a concert! Great orchestra, light show, venue, and entertainment.
I love Roberto Carlos and his show is great, I just wish he would have sung more songs in Portuguese, it was too much in Spanish. I guess having him here for two nights would be better, one he would sing just in Portuguese and the other one in Spanish. By the way, the concert was poorly advertised, a lot of Brazilians had no idea he was here. Overall, because I love him, I’d go back in a heart bit.
O just loved it. Exert thing was perfect. I loved Roberto Carlos and the orchestra is the best what a wonderful musicians 👍👍
