About

Rob Zombie has mastered all angles of shock rock’s horror theatrics as both the frontman of his own “spookshow” solo act and the writer, director and music supervisor for nightmare-fueling films like 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects and the 2009 remake of Halloween. Zombie broke into the New York underground scene in 1985 as the co-founder and vocalist of White Zombie. By combining a childhood obsession for classic horror movies with musical interests that ranged from industrial rock to dance music, he cemented the band as one of the most influential alternative-metal acts ever by the time they disbanded in 1998. Rob Zombie continued his experimentation as a solo artist with his 1998 debut album Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside the Spookshow International, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and went triple-platinum behind his two highest-charting singles on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, “Dragula” and “Living Dead Girl.” After directing many of the music videos for White Zombie and his self-titled act, Zombie took his terrifying performance aesthetics to the big screen with his feature directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses (2003). He’s simultaneously pursued both artistic outlets ever since, releasing his seventh solo album The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy in 2021 while directing the film adaptation of The Munsters in 2022.

    Zombie Brought Halloween To Anaheim

by Starmanz on 11/3/09Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Well for starters the Grove of Anaheim is a great place for an intimate evening with a favorite artist. It was great to see Zombie up close. It was a chill post Halloween crowd on November 1st as Zombie kicked it into gear with some favorite tunes from Hellbilly, starting off with Super Beast. There were three screens blazing clips from old horror movies, cartoon and lyric syncronizations which was almost a show by themselves. Kudos to whoever put that together. The band was awesome and the mix was totally solid. Great sound. The drummer was particularly impressive in tone, stage prescence and playing ability. John 5 is a superb guitarist and showman and I particularly enjoyed his playing, including his solo spot. I know they had just played the night before at the Palladium and I was wondering how Rob Zombie's voice would hold up. He was in top form and sounded great and provided a high energy performance. I expected it to be a good show but it exceeded my expectations. The perfect Halloween Rock event. Love ya Rob!!!

    Zombie cannot wake dead crowd

by Spikedude on 11/3/09Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Despite the best efforts of Rob Zombie to get the crowd going-the uptight OC fans only added to their reputation of being "too cool to be there". What a shame...

    Rob Zombie is the man!!!

by zombie01 on 11/2/09Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

We actually got seated right next to his table at Little Buddha's before the show for dinner. He took a moment to come say hi and shake our hands. That made the evening just in itself. We were in the front on the floor at the show, the closest I've ever been to see him. To be that close, and on Halloween eve was frickin' amazing.

by Lilsubmsv1 on 11/2/09Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

The show was awesome! He played everything that I was hoping to hear. He even played some of his White Zombie music, and though he may have been a bit hungover from the night before he is still a great performer! I had a blast!!!

    Rob Zombie Rocked the House!

by Paganrjg on 11/2/09Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

I saw White Zombie once, many years ago and was not impressed. I took a date to the Grove to see him last night and was completely blown away. Great sound, great visual effects, the band looked awesome and seemed to be having a great time. The place was full but not packed so getting a drink and moving around the theater was easy, the staff was nice and efficient and while there was some drama going on around us (guys fighting) security handled it quickly and quietly. All and all one of the best shows I've been to.

Rob Zombie returns with a vengence!!!

by BMCHARDCORE on 11/2/09Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Rob Zombie's two year hiatus from touring was not seen at all last night. From the moment he hit the stage until the usual Dragula finale, he and his band were right on target. He played a nice collection of songs from both White Zombie albums, his three solo albums, and 2 new songs from his upcoming Hellbilly Deluxe 2 Album. As usual, great visuals during the show and killer lighting. All in all, the show was the best I have seen this year. Can't wait for round 2.

Zombie & Crew Rocked The Grove

by RetroSister on 11/2/09Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

I've been a Zombie fan since '98, and this was my third time seeing him. I liked the venue because we were able to have room to move around and still see what was going on onstage. I liked the opening act with the heavy bass and guitars. Love the slap base. Overall, I enjoyed the show, especially when Zombie and the guys did the classics. I think he has an awesome team with him, especially J5, who likes to play the guitar with his teeth. Very nice. Clufetos is an insane drummer. I wish Mr. Z would've talked less and played more. Don't get me wrong, he adds humor to the night, but the fans want music and not so many chat breaks. I thought the fans behind me were going to tear the place up when he started teasing us with the riff of Thunderkiss '65. I liked the visuals, but they became a distraction after the fourth or fifth song. If you ask us what songs we want to hear, don't play someone else's stuff. I like Ted Nugent, but I didn't pay to hear his songs. I want YOUR music. Meet the Creeper—something classic! I'm a big metal fan, and the Hellbilly will always have a special place in my heart when it comes to industrial. Who else will glorify Herman Munster and his dragster in such a kick ass way?

    H*ll*y*h

by RSIS on 11/2/09Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

RZ gave a high energy performance. Great video and stage presence in small arena except too many references of murder toward women only, Manson worship. Would have been better to stick to the Eddie and Herman Munster Flicks.
