RL GRIME IN CONCERT:

In just a few short years, LA-based trap producer RL Grime has gone from bedroom hobbyist to breakout sensation with his massive, floor-shattering remixes of artists like Kanye West and Benny Benassi. Indeed, the young producer is a master of both the buildup and the drop, slaying eardrums around the country with his bass-heavy original productions and epic live sets. Fans of hip-hop, trap, and even acid house have a new hero in RL Grimes, and they'll get the chance to have their minds blown in the flesh as he hits the road for his latest tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Harry Steinway, a.k.a. RL Grime, was born in Los Angeles in 1991. After studying music business at universities in Boston and New York, he returned to LA and joined the WeDidIt collective with fellow producers Shlomo, Groundislava, and D33J. In 2012 he released the Grapes EP on the WeDidIt label, garnering attention later in the year for his acclaimed remix of Kanye West's "Mercy," which The Fader described "as if hail and tsunami waves were both byproducts of bass." His 2013 EP High Beams, a collaboration with producer Slava and California rapper Problem, debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Electronic Chart, further boosting his popularity with fans around the world. On his latest tour, RL Grime will treat fans to more epic buildups, breakdowns, and never-before-heard cuts from his ever-growing catalog.

  • Mediocre

by RaveBae on 10/31/23Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 2 out of 5

I expected a lot from this artist as I’ve heard great things about his sets however the set was short. It barely went on for 2 hours. In addition, the music was subpar. Crowd energy was low. I like more dubstep,DNB , and riddim. I guess I’ll just stick to that.

  • The BEST artist to ever see

by CJ on 10/31/23Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

RL Grime is hands down my favorite artist and to finally see him again changed my life!! This is my fourth time seeing him and it only gets better every time. One of the best and most unique artist to ever be on stage for EDM and I will continue to support and see him at every venue near me that he is at. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience and I pray that you’re at a festivals this year to attend!!

  • Could be better

by Jp on 10/31/23Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

Why did the show end so early? We paid a good amount of money to only see the headliner for only 1.5 hrs? It wasn’t even midnight. The music was also catered for mainstream audience and not as creative as the second sky set last year… a bit disappointed

  • Plastic cups

by Grime fan on 10/31/23Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

Show was great but I definitely didn’t like that they had to pour out canned waters into PLASTIC CUPS. The whole point of those cans is to PREVENT plastic waste! Very upset about that.

  • Great show!!

by Josh on 10/31/23Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed RL Grime and the opening DJs. The style of music is new to me and it very well reflects the world we live in today. I'm still trying to identify a genre, though it's EDM but to me it's a collaboration of all sub-genres of EDM. Very creative to bring it all together! The crowd was a good vibe; Non-violent, non-pretencious, and responsible; the way it should be! SF bay area crowds are the best! Sound system and lighting was amazing! Bill Graham has much improved since the almost 20 years I've attended a rave held at the venue . Thank you for the great show!!

  • This is NOT a bias review

by HENRYTHEGOAT on 10/31/22Kia Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

RL GRIME IS A GOAT! THIS GUY A LITERALLY TOUCH WATER AND TURN IT INTO WINE. IN THIS SHOW RL WOULD LITERALLY TOUCH WATER AND TURN IT INTO WINE. HIS HE JESUS? IDK MAYBE? THE CROWD JUST WENT INSANE. LIKE ALL THE OPENERS WERE INSANE + RL JUST WENT IN TO THE SANE. RL GRIME IS TRULY A GOAT.

  • Great Venue and even greater show.

by ErickT on 10/31/22Kia Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

RL has got to be one of the best DJs in history with these shows. He is drop-dead scary good with those Halloween mixes. Please keep making those amazing mixes and shows. The venue staff were super friendly and was super accommodating.

  • Disgustingly over sold

by Katie on 11/9/21Echostage - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

Echostage is often oversold, but it continues to get worse and worse. There was no where to go. Absolutely no space to move around or go anywhere. There’s no way that would pass a fire safety check.

  • Absolute Magic

by Wes on 11/9/21Echostage - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Glad I went to this. First time going to echostage and it was worth it by a mile. Definitely coming back for Illenium

  • Amazing

by Cerialmonkeyman on 11/9/21Echostage - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

What a fantastic concert at echo stage Rossy, Juelz, 2099, and RL Grime all did amazing. Rossys light show was so fun having butterfly wing behind her looked like it was apart of her and all the colors. Juelz had like a fast and furious vibe and it was awesome. 2099 bass was insane. RL Grime played his hits so i was so happy "Tell Me" and "UCLA". Definitely go to an RL Grime concert if you can.

  • Too crowded

by ALW on 11/9/21Echostage - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Great music, great light show, way too many people at the show.

  • Great show but venues water policy is terrible

by Gerardo on 11/1/21Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

the event was great but pouring every drink into cups had everyone spilling liquid over everyone.

  • Small pool for a big party

by Alfalasi on 5/30/18The Pool at Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 1 out of 5

Release Pool Parties are selling 2,000 to 4,000 ticket and the pool can’t accommodate even 50 person. I really don’t recommend this series of release parties.
