Count your lucky starrs, Ringo Starr & His All Starr band are on tour, bringing Beatles classics and the best of Ringo's solo material to fans around the country. The latest incarnation of the supergroup features yet another stellar lineup of musicians, including Toto's Steve Lukather on guitar, Santana's Gregg Rolie on keys, and Todd Rundgren on, well, just about everything. Covering a variety of contemporary and classic hits alongside beloved favorites by the Fab Four, the band has hordes of eager fans awaiting their 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Ringo Starr, beloved drummer of The Beatles, has been touring the world with his All Starr Band since 1989. Over the last two decades, Ringo has played with 12 variations of the band, always sharing the stage with members who are veritable stars in their own right. Past All Starr Band players include Joe Walsh of the Eagles, Peter Frampton, and Sheila E., and the ever-humble Ringo always gives his fellow performers equal stage time to perform hits from their respective catalogs.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"He played old classics from his solo career and Beatles, and plenty of other favorites from bands of our era. He is a true showman!"
"Ringo is a great emcee and performer. He is funny, down-to-earth, and obviously loves to perform — he was having lots of fun, and so were we. The musicians he brought along this time were fantastic..."
"People of all ages (kids to seniors) all dancing, cheering, clapping, laughing and singing together. I'm not sure I have ever seen anything quite like it. Incredible show & incredible talent."
Great show with a true all star line up. They played a high energy show from start to finish.
Was an unbelievable experience to see such great talents working together....
This was a great group of musicians! They started on time and played for 2 hours straight! There wasn't a song I didn't sing to except for one new release and that was certainly a toe-tapper!
The concert was just great and kept me smiling throughout. We got to hear Ringo, The Beatles, Mister Mister, Santana, and Toto - what's not to love? I would definitely recommend and look forward to seeing next summer's lineup.
Ringo and company played an amazing set of songs. The concert lasted an hour and a half. He played Don't pass me by, Boys, A Little Help From My Friends, Photograph, It Don't Come easy, With Band Mates Tod Rundgren, the lead player from toto, Organ player from Santana, The concert and selections of songs was amazing - We had a great time - We would go again!
Excellant show, would go again if i had the chance
Ringo and his All Starr Band was phenomenal!!! They sounded great! A must see show! Took my father for his birthday! I know it will be a show I'll never forget:)
I was wonderfully amazingly blown away with every member of the all Starr band. Every musician took a turn MC ing his songs, telling stories, and playing their songs. Ringo was a fab leader, very entertaining, funny, love able, and talented: he played the drums very well all night. Tonight's music featured Toto, Todd Rundgren, Santana, & Mr.Mister. Every song was a surprise and played very well. Bravo!!
Ringo did all of his standard supported be has All Starr band. Being the Pro that he is, he allowed all of the members of the band to shine one there own. Hearing songs from The Beatles, Santana, Toto, Mr Mister, and Todd Rundgren, made for a great evening.
What a fantastic show! Weather was gorgeous, and not only were we treated to Ringo and his songs, but there were mini concerts as well, with a few Toto songs, and also Mr. Mister, Santana and Todd Rundgren, thanks to Ringo's All Star Band! My wife, daughter and I got to see a Beatle!!!
Awesome Awesome Awesome everyone played for 2 hours
This was a great concert! Everyone sounded fantastic vocally and musically. I love it when you hear one chord and you immediately recognize the song. That was the whole concert! My husband and I both loved it and highly recommend seeing it if you're a fan of the groups represented.
Come again next year, I'll be there! Love you, Ringo!
Concert was ok. I expected more beatles kind of music. Got alot of love songs that when I hear them on the radio I turn the station. But all in all it was good to see a great performer.
As always a very entertaining show. The individuals of the band add amazing music to Ringo's standards.
Ringo.....man doesn't need the money and you see how much he does this for the sheer, pure joy of music! His "all stars" are awesome -all for the love of their music and in such great support of RINGO!
All-Starr musicians, All-Starr singers, All-Starr show. Great array of Classic Rock. Wish that there were a few more notable songs sung by Ringo & Todd.
I loved that this concert wasn't just Ringo singing his songs. There are so many different band leaders in the All Starr Band that you get to hear other bands' songs as well. Everyone had equal time on stage and the fact that they all played back-up for each other was a testament that they just love music - no egos involved.
Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band came rockin' thru town, as they do every other year or so, and were certainly up to the "All-Starr" billing. Even though this is the fourth, or maybe it's the fifth, incarnation of the band I've seen, it is always fun to travel back in time with these guys as they recreate their hits from the past. Most tunes had some crankin' solos, some multiple solos, so we weren't listening to a radio replay of greatest hits. Everything sounded fresh. Ringo has begun to show his age a bit, as he fumbled the lyrics on a couple of tunes (the band members picked him up nicely, though) and his rendition of Don't Pass Me By was restarted three times as he was playing the opening piano riffs but singing lyrics from elsewhere in the tune. He caught himself, though, and finally said "oh fuck it" as he moved from the raised piano stand to center stage to get the song going again, full throttle, from start to finish. The band members were exactly the All-Starrs they were made out to be. Todd Rundgren was his inimitable self. Greg Rolie was a force on keyboards and three Santana tunes. Steve Lukather was amazing on guitar and lead the way on four Toto numbers. Richard Page's bass guitar was thumping and his voice spot-on for his three tunes (two from Mr. Mister and one new tune). And Greg Bissonette's drumming was nothing short of stupendous. Ringo played a couple of his newer tunes to go along with his older hits and Beatle's tunes. In comparison to past All-Starr Band concerts I've seen, the All-Starrs are now playing three (and even four) of their own hits instead of just two each....and Ringo carrying the rest. That's not necessarily a bad thing. At 74 years old and doing jumping jacks on stage at the end of the show, Ringo deserves to slow down a bit. He has nothing he needs to prove. Peace and Love rules.
My daughter Rachel is a huge Beatles fan. When she heard Ringo was coming to town. We knew we all(4 of us) had to go see him and his friends. So glad we did. For years Ringo was a drummer with the Beatles. To see him out there singing was such fun. He was so happy to be center stage. He loved working the crowd. It was enjoyable to see him up front. . And I must say he looks great for his age. The rest of the group were just as awesome and entertaining to hear. Santana songs. Wow!!! The whole night was a treat. So glad we as a family were able to share in it.
