    Great Show!

by Anonymous on 11/12/13Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

I'm not sure who enjoyed the show more - my wife and I or my son! We hadn't been to a circus in years and wasn't sure what to expect. Very professional, clean, entertaining show. Some might say they expected more, but for the population size in our area it was above and beyond what we were hoping for. We certainly hope this show returns next year so we can attend again.

    Fully Charged - Fun

by 8isEnough2 on 11/12/13Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

Overall a really great time. Brought 6 kids, ages 5-14, and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves! There was variety for everyone. All the animals seemed happy and well maintained, and that's a biggie in our book!

    Great Circus

by Whateveryouwant on 11/11/13Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

The Fully Circus was wonderful. We have not had many of the larger circuses visit Maine, and we looked forward to this one's coming. We were not disappointed. Great time for grandparents and children.

    Ringling Brothers Circus Fully Charged

by notwitty on 11/11/13Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

We saw the Ringling Brothers circus in Bangor Maine, Nov. 2013, I thought it was excellent. Granted, it was much smaller than I thought it would be, this was NOT the three-ring extravaganza of my youth. And there was only 1 clown. ONE clown! However, my six about-to-be-seven year old and her friends had a BLAST. The pre-show, at first I thought was not so wonderful, until I saw the faces of the kids, they were OVER THE TOP excited. Trying on costumes, seeing the animals up close. But you must get to the show way early to be in those doors right away, the pre show is only 1 hour. In Bangor the venue is smaller than I imagine it would be in bigger cities, we arrived half an hour before the doors opened, which was an hour and a half total before the circus began. 10 minutes was wasted trying to find the correct aisle at the venue to get us to the bottom of the arena, as no signs pointed the way, but still, we had time to do everything we wanted to do at the preshow. Without the preshow the circus would have still been fun, it is choreographed to keep kids attention from start to finish. It was not at all shabby. Not grand either, but the performers were all very good. Looking through adult eyes, they were just people making a living doing what they enjoy, but through the children's eyes, they were MAGICAL people performing feats no one else could do! A great night. We paid $22.50 per ticket and were in the second row, (not on the floor which was folding chairs, but in the venue seats). I think I would have been pleased if I'd had to pay $35 or $40 a seat, but not more. Then again, we live in a remote area 2 hours from Bangor, and had to stay overnight and get meals too, perhaps I would have been willing to pay more if I lived locally. Anyway, my child will remember the night forever. WELL worth the price we paid, even with hotel and meals!

    Child Again

by Bodecfr4 on 11/11/13Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

Live in Maine and hadn't been to Ringling Brothers for over thirty years when my parents took me!. Took our three grandchildren, 6, 7 and 8 yrs old, sat in second row on floor. Got the toilet paper on us and loved that! Everything we all saw from dogs to camels, horses, ponies, high wire, trampoline, heavyweight lifting, knife throwing, funny guy getting in on everything, elephants, music, master of ceremonies, dancers, every single part of everything.....never had the best here in Bangor, Me. until you came to town! THANK YOU for letting us experience that again and showing a new generation. You ARE the greatest show on earth! What a team you all are!

    circus

by JackMay on 11/10/13Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

Very good in a cheesy sort of way. Definitely geared toward little children. Stage could've been bigger and had lights around it more. All in all, a very good show except for the arial man flyer on the mattress, this was a little too icky how he kept poking himself in and out of the ribbons of the mattress/trampoline. Really thot the crowd was going to boo him at one point.

    Not Good

by Thunderlipz on 11/10/13Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

I was very disappointed with this event. The seats were all very good, but the circus acts were sub par. I was always under the impression that the Ringling Brothers was the premier circus. The Anah Shrine Circus has this beat on so many levels. There was no flying trapeze, a disappointing tight rope, no tigers or lions, 2 elephants 3 horses, 2 camels, and 10 dogs. The show was not about the circus but about some stupid song and dance routine that was for infants. We were very disappointed. Do not waste your money!

RIngling Bros. should focus on the acts

by Montadita on 11/10/13Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

We went to the circus on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in Bangor, ME. The acts were fantastic. Truly skilled artists including the show's signature multitalented "clown" who appeared frequently, the horse/ dog trainer, the aerialists, the motorcyclists, jugglers, gymnast, strong man (and knife thrower to scare you to death), and the elephant trainer . However, the multiple hokey "song and dance routines" were plain silly and added nothing. If the thought was that they somehow pulled the show together, they didn't. The show also suffered from a sound system that ate the words of the ringmaster and made the live music sound canned. The acts were all a 5+ but the overall experience was a 2.

    Great show, super pricey.

by Dededbird on 11/10/13Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

I took my 4 year old son and he loved it. After tickets, popcorn, a bottle of water, a snow cone and two souvenir toys (one for his little brother), it was $100. I would not be able to bring my entire family of 4, but it was a good show and a nice mommy and son date.

Fully Charged, Gold Edition was very enjoyable

by grammjh on 11/4/13US Cellular Center - Cedar Rapids

I took my daughter/son-in-law and their boys, 6 and 8 yrs. old. We had a fabulous time. The performances moved very fast--there wasn't any time for the boys to get bored. They loved it. I had almost as much fun watching my family's expressions as I did watching the show. We couldn't believe how fast the 2 hours went by.

by segka on 10/31/13US Cellular Center - Cedar Rapids

Really enjoyed the circus. Was concerned about the welfare of the elephants as there were protesters out side. They said the elephants are treated cruly in the process of being trained. I pray this is not the case.

This was the first circus that my nephews and niece (and 2 of the other adults) had ever seen. The "mini show" before the live was a great way to entertain the kids, and adults, before the action started. Getting parking and to your seats usually leaves you with 30-60 minutes to entertain the kids. Running and being active on the circus floor gave us something to do and a chance for the kids to move around so they could sit for the show. Also, the intermission was another chance for everyone to get up, stretch, move around. We were all disappointed that there weren't more animal acts. The dogs were good, energetic and full of action to keep your attention. The horses and camels were good, but their tricks were basic. I would have liked to see the handler actually ride and touch the animals besides feeding treats to them. Try to find stunt riders for the horses. (Another act with minimal added expense.) The elephants were great. The kids loved them. My niece did ask where the lions and tigers were. She thought that "circus" was synonymous with lions and tigers. I didn't know what to tell her. The high wire act was very good. The rest of the aerial acts were basic. (I taught gymnastics and some of our kids could do what the performers were doing.) The final act with the laser light was amazing. I would have liked to have that on for a little longer. I have been to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus twice in the past. The first time was when I was a little girl and they still had three rings of action. That must be a thing of the past. This is understandable, but sad. The other time was when I was an adult and then there was only one ring. At this time there was still more variety and entertainment then this show had. Overall, for the first timers to a circus this is a good start. I miss the full on action and variety of acts from the past.

    The circus has grown up.

by zmeyers on 10/30/13US Cellular Center - Cedar Rapids

I begrudgingly attended this show recently, and was very pleasantly surprised. It was so much better that the circus performances of my youth. The did a fantastic job of engaging the kids and audience, while putting on some very impressive displays of strength and acrobatic skill you'd expect. All in all, this was a fantastic experience.
