I took my 5 year old daughter and my 6 year old niece, it was there first time at the circus. We arrived 1 hour earlier to see the backstage animals and a small pre-show. They couldn't wait to be seated and the show to start. It was priceless when I kept seen their face expressions, their big smiles and when the circus was on break they couldn't stop talking about it.
I know I haven't been to the circus in probably 30 years, but it certainly has changed a lot. Although my 5 1/2-yr old daughter was largely impressed (and my 86-yr old grandmother as well), I found it to be a little weak on the animal entertainment and what was "promised" by the souvenirs and program. Before the show started, we were inundated with overpriced sides - photo shoot, bouncy train, clown face painting - and tacky souvenirs. I guess this was to be expected. What was dismaying, though, was that one of the biggest features of the souvenir stands never appeared in the show. Stuffed white tigers were available in all shapes and sizes, the smallest and cheapest being $15. But no tigers featured in the show, not even brown ones. It's good that my daughter failed to notice this omission, or she might have been disappointed. We did buy her a souvenir program, probably the cheapest souvenir you could get, but sadly the majority of the content in it did not match the show we saw. The acrobats and contortionists were good, and we all enjoyed the trampoline and high wire acts. I found most of the show to be a loud, overblown musical show that had more clown antics than contortionists.
Although we enjoyed our day at the circus, we were surprised at how small it was! We missed the opening parade, the wild animal trainer (lions and tigers) and the many clowns. This definitely was not the circus of the past! The performers were wonderful, especially "Anton."
The theme and the performers were good and fun for the kids. They had a good time. The only thing that did not meet my expectation was that the show was alot smaller than I expected(1 ring vs a three ring circus. Based on the layout I would have went for $20 seats vs $30 seats. Why no lions or tigers?
Althought the acts were good, I was disappointed overall - not enough animals or animal acts to keep the children entertained. I was restless and bored by the end and so were many of the children around us.
I have been to the circus many times. This is the first that had only 1 clown. No big cats. I know PETA gives them a hard time.
I thought this would be good for my grandson that was turning three. However it was not I thought that there would be more circus animals!! I bought 10 tickets and was not happy with the show!!
NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. NOT A TIGER IN SIGHT. TOO MANY JUGLERS AND STRONG MAN ACTS. NOT ENOUGHT CLOWNS. COLE BROTHERS SURE HAS THIS BEAT.
The show was filled with excitements !!! My girls enjoyed the performances, especially the dogs, elephants, and the camels. The interactions from the ringmaster and the others were entertaining !! I'm looking forward to next year, great show!!
Our family was disappointed that the circus was only one ring.. It took away from the amazing memories I had from childhood. It was lacking animals. Tigers and Lions specifically. They also seemed to have a new way of presentation that we thought was a little overkill with constant singing between acts. And there was only ONE clown and no clown car! The children seeing it for the first time loved it as they didn't know any different! And there was nothing holiday related in the show.
My kids had never been to the circus and were not disappointed. Maybe not a three ring circus anymore but one ring was perfect. Small, intimate, not a bad seat in the house.
Great show even with small space. You can watch better if you are in front of the ring.
Wonderful performance! Fantastically entertaining! Performers were amazing! Clean and healthy looking and happy animals too!
The all around circus was very good. But is a circus without lions and tigers. It was the first time my daughter had ever seen a circus, but I'm 55 and have seen my share. It should advertised letting people know that the only animals see are some dogs and pretty small elephants. I was very sad
Absolutely fabulous! Lived up to motto "Greatest Show on Earth"!
The hour before the show was interactive with performers and children. Cute and fun! The rest of the performance was downhill all the way! Certainly not like when I was a youngster. One clown! Two Elephants!! Some horses and dogs and camels. Big deal!! Most of the show was jugglers and acrobats. Don't waste your money on this disappointment!!!!!!
The kids (2 and 5) had a great time and were in awe for 2 hours...
After taking my children to the circus years ago, this event was a total disappointment! Only one ring, not enough animals and almost no clowns. My grandson's first circus (and his Mom's also) was actually depressing. I wouldn't go again.
I've been to this circus for at least 7 years and this year the acts were not interesting. No tigers and only one clown! I've seen better street performers. Sorry and sad to see Ringling Bros. be so uninteresting. What's happened?
