    Ringling Bros.

by Kiener on 1/1/12Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

The circus was fantastic! The problem was with the family sitting in front of us who were not sitting in the seats they purchased. The usher told them they were in the wrong seats, they knew it , and refused to move. The performance had already started and their ignorance ruined the first 15 minutes of the show. The woman also used vulgar words in a family environment & it was upsetting because we paid for the tickets we were sitting in and wanted to enjoy the ENTIRE performance. The woman should have been escorted out of the building for her inappropriate behavior and the rest of the family should have been escorted to the seats they purchased.

    just not the same

by Anonymous on 1/1/12Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

Don't get me wrong change is good, but touch change is not. Where are the lions, tigers, tight ropes and clowns?? This is not the circus that we know and LOVE!! Bring it back!!

    It was ok.

by Boyntonier on 1/1/12Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

I've been to many circuses since I was a little kid and I have to say this one was one of the smallest in every aspect. The venue was big enough for a bigger show, more acts, more animals, more clowns perhaps?. Dated acts, the same you see at a small town fair. I expected much more from a signature circus like this. The Oohs and Aahs didn't sound a lot. Good for kids tough or for someone never to a circus before. I still recommended it cause you don't have too many options around to take the family to.

    Short on animals

by docsbp on 12/31/11Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

Lots of excellent acrobatics, but animals were mostly dogs. Elephants, camels and horses also appeared. No cats (lions, tigers) appeared, and all events were in one ring, not the three rings shown on the seating chart.

    circus

by alanchm on 12/31/11Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

Go back stage before show like going to a petting zoo, nothing interesting. The Show, what ever happened to Clowns? What ever happened to Lions and Tigers? Kids were looking foward to that, very dissapointing.

While the overall show was good. It seemed to be lacking. No lions and tigers, only 1 ring and 1 clown. Dissappointing from circuses in the past.

    Greatest Show

by Redhourse on 12/31/11Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

You know even being 64 and seeing the Circus for the first time in person, it was just like being a kid again. It was fun, exciting and most enjoyable to share with my wife and son. Before the 29th of December 2011 I had only seen the show on TV and always thought it was great. Thanks.

    Bash was disappointing

by NanaLin on 12/31/11Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

I've seen five holiday programs of the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus in West Palm Beach and a few in Chicago and I found this to be the only one that was very disappointing for the following reasons: 1. The overuse of that skinny guy with glasses who I assume was a clown of sorts. The act with the glasses of water and the rings was way too long and became boring. When he kept coming out to the ring for 'new' performances, all I could hear around me was "not him again!" and I felt the same way. 2. Although clearly there was a picture of a tiger act in their promotions for Bash, this is the first of the circuses I've seen with no tiger act. This was very, very disappointing, especially for the children. Animal acts are always the most popular acts. 3. Other than one announcer who was dressed as a clown, there were absolutely no clowns ever in the ring. The children look forward to clowns dressed like clowns (not that somewhat talented skinny guy in glasses, a white shirt and pants). 4. There were no high wire acts in this show and that too was a staple in previous circuses put on by Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey. 5. There was very little humor in this show that addressed the children. Only the ridiculous and over-used acts of that skinny guy made attempts at humor. It worked once or twice, but after ten or twelve times we wanted to get 'the hook' and drag him out of the ring. 6. The "strongman" became boring after his first performance. He, too, was over-used. 7. The grey haired guy who worked with the skinny guy in black slacks was a waste of time and boring...where did he come from and what are his skills? We saw him do the water glass and ring thing 3 times and once was more than enough...his 'partner' had already done it five times! I think the circus planners and promoters lost sight this year of the fact that this shortened circus is geared towards younger children, perhaps 3-10 years in age and some of these acts were not appealing to them. Some were not even appropriate for them, like that staged 'fight' in the boxing ring with that skinny guy again. When they say, "Mom, is that supposed to be funny?", it kind of says it all, doesn't it? On the positive side: 1. The dog act was wonderful and should have been longer. 2. The pony, horse and camel performance was excellent. 3. The motorcycle act was excellent, but too long. 4. The daredevels on the spinning wheel were amazing, but it too was too long. 5. As always, the elephant act was good and well received. 6. The singing female trio was new this year, but they too were over-used. It seemed as if an attempt was made to use them as announcers like in an old vaudeville or burlesque show and it didn't work. They were there too much and did too little.

    Circus was Disappointing

by jolouy on 12/31/11Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

I was so excited to be able to take my grandson who is 3 and my daughter. I was expecting to see a Circus show not dancers, dog show, singing etc. Where were the animals, the smells of the circus. My grandson asked if we could leave, the only thing that attracted his attention was the motorcylces and the elephants when they finally came out to a disappointing performance.

I thought the show was excellent and moved at a good steady pace...the live music made it a better performance. This isthe second show I have seen and was different than two years ago...I think that is good.

Disappointed, the kids and I was not happy with not seeing enough animal acts. The circus should be more animal events for me to come again or remmend friends.

    Barnum Bash.. or Barnum Bust.

by TVo561 on 12/30/11Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

Overall, the Barnum Bash was not what I expected it to be. Don't get me wrong, there were some pretty amazing parts in the show, but there were very few of them. The parts that I enjoyed very well were the animal tricks and the crazy stunts on the spinning hamster wheel contraption. I was VERY disappointed when a heavy weight lifter was brought into the show. At first, it was alright, but he just kept coming back. I felt like they just added him in just to fill in time. Also, the interaction between the young male and the older gentlemen was a little drawn out. That felt like it was a time-killer presentation too. I expected more from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

    Circus with only one clown

by delraymama on 12/30/11Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

We were very dissapointed that there was only one clown and no highwire act. We loved the dog act as well as the horses, camels and elephants. But there wes no tigers or lions. This was not the circus I remembered.

    Don't waste your money

by Crys425 on 12/30/11Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

This by far was not the circus I remember. Lack of animals , no real clowns , small setting , it was long and mostly uneventful. The main attraction was the strongman who kept doing tricks- we get it your strong! No lions, tigers, exotic animals other than elephants. At 22.00 a person plus 20.00 for popcorn and cotton candy it was a total waste of money. Becware

Fun nite out for the familly. Most of the entertainment has been over played . Seen stronger performances and acts from much smaller venues . Expected Ringling Brothers to be the best .Value for the money was ok. The pre party befor the show was fun and the souveniers were well made at a fair price.

Low budget show but at a ridiculous price!

by MomOf2GoodKids on 12/30/11Palm Beach County Convention Center - West Palm Beach

I'd gone to the Ringling Bros show as a kid and the show has changed drastically! It has gotten much smaller and the Palm Beach Convention Center is not a good venue for it either. The was the first time my kids (ages 9&6) had been to a circus. They did enjoy but it is not something we would visit again. I purchased our tickets very early in advanced and got a reasonable price, otherwise I would have felt ripped off! Very few animals: 3 elephants, a horse & pony show, a dog show, and 2 camels. That's it, no tigers! And not one clown! Snow cones & popcorn were $10!! Light up souvenirs (which I did NOT buy) were $22! Eat before you go.
