About

Rihanna is nothing if not prolific. Since her 2005 debut, the 25-year-old singer has released seven albums and racked up twelve No. 1 singles, setting a record in the process as the solo artist with the fastest accumulation of ten chart-topping singles – a feat she accomplished in just under five years. A quick scroll through the radio dial will confirm that Rihanna is the most ubiquitous figure in Top 40 airplay, and considering her rapid-fire release schedule, it’s hardly a surprise that she recently edged out her idol Whitney Houston to become the artist with the ninth most Top 10 singles ever (24 in total). After hugely successful collaborations with Eminem in 2010 (“Love the Way You Lie”) and Drake in 2012 (Take Care), Rihanna scored her first U.S. No. 1 album with 2012’s Unapologetic, which includes the hugely successful “Diamonds” and “Stay.” Rihanna is shining bright in concert on the 2013 Diamonds World Tour -- opening acts 2 Chainz and A$AP Rocky are worth the ticket price alone.

Born in Barbados in 1988, Rihanna grew up listening to reggae and began singing at age seven. As a teen, her Caribbean-influenced demos attracted the attention of label execs, and in 2005 she auditioned for Jay-Z, signing a six-album record deal with Def Jam Recordings the same day. Her first two albums, Mother of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006), spawned hit singles “Pon De Replay” and chart-topper “S.O.S.,” but it wasn’t until “Umbrella,” from third album Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), that she cemented her place as a serious contender to the pop throne. Originally written for Britney Spears, “Umbrella” peaked at No. 1 and earned Rihanna her first Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. A string of platinum-selling albums would follow, including Loud (2010) and Talk That Talk (2011), both of which featured an increasingly dance-oriented sound, including chart-topping club anthems “Only Girl (In the World)” and “We Found Love.” After terminating her tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship with rapper Chris Brown, Rihanna released Unapologetic in 2013 to positive reviews – and a No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.

  • Really Rih RIh

by LizACo on 5/9/16oakland oracle - OaklandRating: 2 out of 5

I was sincerely disappointed! I am a Rihanna fan, have been since her first debut. However, this concert had to have been one of the worst shows I have ever been to. She didn't perform. She would sing a line or two and then mouth through the rest of the show. I felt like I was at a bad Trap Karaoke event ....She didn't sing not one song in its entirety and didn't engage the crowd, so much so that crowds of people begin to sit down and two people fell asleep. Wasn't worth my money. Please improve your stage performances. Like really, Joseline Hernandez would have been more entertaining.

  • Rihanna forgot what WORK means..

    by bridge1021 on 5/9/16The Forum - InglewoodRating: 2 out of 5

Let me begin by mentioning that I have paid to see Rihanna live many times. I've seen her in Dallas, The Staples Center, The Pasadena Rose Bowl, and now the Forum. She arrived extremely late, beginning her scheduled performance of 730pm at 945pm and it ended about an hour and 15 minutes later. She USED to put a hell of a performance and a show, and now it seemed like a tribute of songs one jumping into another making me wonder when she was going to complete a full song. Eventually she did, but if the shortage of her performances came from her delayed entrance, she is too blame and should have kept the show rolling.. All in all, she doesn't get down like she used to both in the dancing, the singing, and performing. This will be the last time i waste money on her "live" performances.

  • Could have done something else

by AliKaya on 5/9/16SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 2 out of 5

The opening act never showed up. We had to wait a couple hours for Rihanna to show up. We were getting impatient and frustrated and I missed my friends senior nights for their sports. I would have rather seen them play. Then Rihanna played for just over an hour which did not compensate for the tardiness. There was no ancore either. I was disappointed.

  • Rihanna was smoking but...

by NikkiFromDixon on 5/9/16SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 3 out of 5

Because Travis Scott was a no show, we had to wait for 2.5 hrs. for Rihanna to take the stage. It was nice they had a local DJ come in and try to help pass the time, but he only played for about 20 min. & then we waited another hour with the momentum quickly fading until Rihanna took the stage & she was awesome and looked absolutely beautiful! She rocked the stage!! When she was singing, she was spot on & sounded incredible! There were two bummers...1. If she wasn't singing, they had her pre-recorded songs playing in the background which happened frequently and 2. when Rihanna apologized for Travis Scott, she said she hoped to make it up to us. We took that as "great! Maybe she will play longer". Unfortunately, she only played for 1 hr. 10 min. with no encore. Kind of disappointing as we wanted more. Overall, we realized it wasn't her fault Travis Scott flaked, but please Rihanna, play a little longer we came to see you.

  • Rihanna was amazing

by Kingmeg on 5/9/16SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 4 out of 5

Very disappointed that the opening act Travis Scott didn't show up. Waited 2 1/2 hours before Rihanna's performance. They could have announced that he wasn't performing instead of every one just wondering and searching on Twitter or his instagram page that he wasn't showing up. This concert was also a reschedule from February which also added to the frustrations of the fans that the show just didn't go as planned. Rihanna delivered a great performance despite the mishaps.

  • Rhihanna it was alright!!!

by Audreesant on 5/9/16SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 3 out of 5

It was really a long wait! Travis Scott was her opening act didn't perform I am not sure what reason. Although, the seats we have were all the way on top the view was worth the price. Luckily we were upgraded to floor seats and was ecstatic. At 9:30 pm, Rihanna came out and performed. It was a good show but will not wait three hours for it.

  • Re-scheduled and then lame show!!

by donna75 on 5/9/16SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 1 out of 5

The Rihanna show was scheduled for February 28, 2016, was going to be the opening show for the tour - the show was rescheduled for May 6th, 2016 - thought since the show was rescheduled Rihanna would put on an amazing show for us - WRONG - Travis Scott did NOT even show up - Rihanna was TOTALLY LATE and played for an hour and a half - we payed $300.00 for 2 tickets - $200.00 for hotel - drove 4 hours each way. Most of the show was lip synked.

  • Rihanna was great, but show was not amazing

by pmyster on 5/9/16SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 3 out of 5

Rihanna was fantastic as always but the entire show was just ok. Not great to any effect as her previous concerts were better. Although I did like the opening song and dancing on the moving platform to bring her to the main stage...that was cool but that was it.

  • by EsotericEric on 5/9/16SAP Center at San Jose - San JoseRating: 5 out of 5

Tremendous! I haven't gotten the Anti album yet, but having heard what I did from the album at the show, I'm going to get it. It's great to see the way Rihanna continues to evolve as an artist.

  • Rihanna was worth every penny!!

by wildsetfree on 5/8/16Oracle Arena - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

GIRL, SHE IS A MUST. Her voice is very angelic and the performance overall was just fantastic!

  • Rihanna is everything!

by NTCertified on 5/7/16Royal Farms Arena - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

Rihanna has grown so much as an artist and she has so much fun on stage. This tour is unique because it doesn't follow the norms. The stage was white and wide open. She stripped all of the big theatrics and went for something simple and that's cool. She's been using this thing that creates foam and it rolls down the curtain behind her. Besides that it was all eyes on her and that is the way it should be. Her entrance from the back of the arena was very cool. Often people toward the back suffer from not being able to see their favorite star up close. Rihanna was confident, fun, and she sang for 1.5 hours. She didn't take a lot of time in between costumes and she talked just a little bit. Rihanna just has hits for days and there was never a reason to sit. Not many people did. Awesome!

  • Rihanna Is My Fave but This Wasn't A Great Show

by ChelsBattle on 5/7/16The Forum - InglewoodRating: 3 out of 5

I'm a huge Rihanna fan. I went to her Diamonds tour about 2 years ago and it exceeded my expectations. Great staging, great costumes and she killed it vocally. This show was nothing like that and it was at the forum so the seating was very tight. You also had to wait in line outside and go through a metal detector outside before entering the building. No fun. I did like that she brought Drake out to perform. That was a hilight however I wouldn't recommend this show. I was disappointed. Perhaps I came into the building with my expectations too high based on her last show, however Rihanna is a Rockstar, rocking out is typically what she does...just not this time.

  • LIT AF

  • Rihanna rocked it

Rihanna's Anti World Tour was great. The show, dancers, musicians and Drake was amazing. Rihanna was sexy and did not disappoint.

  • Rihanna was Refreshing!

by MarsAlmondBar on 5/7/16The Forum - InglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

I liked the show very well. I can not say it was outstanding because (1) I didnt hear a few songs I would have liked to hear and (2) the short playing of many songs was a little irritating. I summed it up though to her promoting her new album; and so I respect that. I enjoyed the stage and rapid clothing changes - I don't like waiting long in-between sets. All in all I had a very good time!!!

  • by LeenaBoo on 5/7/16The Forum - InglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

Overall the concert was amazing!!! She brought out Drake and the crowd went wild. RIHANNA IS AMAZING LIVE. HER VOICE IS ANGELIC.

  • Rihanna best concert yet!!!

    by Deebest87 on 5/7/16The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

One of my best experience. She's such a great performer and I love her even more now! She brings so much sexappeal to every song and Drake surprised appearance was the icing to the cake! Thanks Rihanna for the great show!

  • Awesome

She was better than I expected and sounded great vocally.
