About

RIFF RAFF IN CONCERT:

Although new to the rap game, Texas-based freestyler Riff Raff has already made a name for himself with his intricate cornrows and swagged-out style. At his live shows the eccentric rapper flaunts his signature look as he moves around the stage, spitting hits like "Real Boyz" and  "Dolce and Gabbana" as the audience gets their twerk on. Back on the road, Riff Raff and his entourage will treat fans to an exciting string of tour dates in support of his sophomore album Neon Icon.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Horst Christian Simco got his start under the stage name Riff Raff, recording his flows and passing out demos in Houston malls. Influenced at the time by other rising hip-hop artists Chamillionaire and Slim Thug, he started sporting gold-plated grills and long cornrows, buliding a reputation as a style maverick that has played a major role in his breakout success. His debut album The Golden Age was released in 2012, and led to collaborations with Skrillex, Diplo, and Action Bronson. Riff Raff will have fans hyped on his expressive rhymes and infectious energy as he heads out for his upcoming shows.

    Going down hill

by RapFan202020 on 7/17/15Brighton Music Hall - Boston

Third time seeing Riff Raff in three years. Three years ago, he was excellent - huge energy - great crowd. A year and a half ago, he let his hype men do 50% of the rapping while he focused on posing. This time, he phoned in the performance giving 40 minutes of a lackluster set while it being obvious that the backing track was doing nearly all the work - the mic comes away from his mouth and there's no detectable difference in the vocal levels. Weak sauce.

    NOT worth it!

by KimberlySC on 2/17/15North Park Theatre - San Diego

Probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a concert-goer. Doors opened at 7PM, RiFF RaFF did not come to the stage until 1030. 3.5 hours??? WestCoast Chanel performed prior and I must admit, she outperformed his by a long shot. RiFF RaFF abruptly left the stage about 40 mins after. His live rapping skills were disappointing. His onstage posse passed out freebies, which was ok. I didn't even know it ended until people started walking away from the stage. I was a fan of RiFF RaFF and was excited to him - no longer the case. He must of been on lean/MJ/whatever, there must be some stupid reason for his crappy performance.

    Wasted night.

by Anonymous on 2/12/15The Sinclair - Cambridge

Suffered through the bubblegum rap Barbie opening act. Waited almost an hour for Riff Raff to come out. When he did, he spent the whole time walking around, checking his phone(s), talking to his people on stage. He only played for 30 minutes. We waited to see him longer than he played!!! Booooooo! Shame on Riff Raff and his diva tendencies.

    Bout Half

    by LITTLEDREAMER420 on 2/9/15Mercury Ballroom - Louisville

Riff Raff's set was to short for a headliner. Chanel West Coast ran out of merchandise. I went to purchase a beanie Chanel had at her table, and they were sold out. I was directed to her website for purchase which charges a $15 shipping fee for a $25 beanie with no working email address, and no phone number for orders. I attend many live music events, and this event was lacking, even though I had a good time.

    Not what I expected

by JiffJaff on 2/8/15Mercury Ballroom - Louisville

For one there was a bunch of young kids there. Riff Raff took forever to come out on stage. My friend and I left after 4 hours of being there.

Riff Raff wasnt bad, but not incredible

    by joeyg543 on 2/1/15The Sinclair - Cambridge

It was a very fun show, and he is a character... But the show was too quick , waited hours for him to come on, and he just abruptly leaves in the middle of his last song without saying "thanks for coming out " or anything like that.

It was a really bad show the opening artist had to longer than he was suppose to, Riff Raff's DJ, had to do the same, then when Riff Raff came on he only completed two songs, sang half songs, and wasn't as "hype" as he seems, I will never see one of his shows again.

Played for about 15 minutes then just left the stage. Worst show I've seen in years.

    Amazing

by Anonymous on 11/4/14House of Blues Sunset - Los Angeles

Probably best performance I've seen crowd was more involved here than any other concert I've been too. Performed at the House of Blues Sunset, and everything was performed in a timely fashion. Definitely recommend for a good time.

    Riff Raff...Ridiculous & Fun

by avsweetielv on 5/13/14House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

While I hate to admit it, there is something that I love about Riff Raff. The show was a really good time...full of energy. Only a few complaints and/or suggestions: - I wish the show would've been 21+ instead of 18+. There were so many skanky 18 year olds running around bombed out of their mind that it was annoying. - Riff Raff needs to understand that he is not jay-z status. Once GrandTheft was finished opening (who was amazing, btw) Riff Raff took another hour to come on stage & really didn't perform for that long. If he was going to take that much time to come out, I would rather them keep GrandTheft up there killing it rather than the 2nd bootleg dj just trying to build suspense while you wait for him to decide to make an appearance. Other than those hang-ups, it was definitely a good time.

Riff great performance but 3 hour wait!!!!

by Anonymous on 5/8/14Paradise Rock Club - Boston

First time attending a concert in Boston at Paradise Rock Club. Staff at club fantastic with maintaining a consistent safe environment for waiting concert goers. Attended concert with my 15 year old and 22 year old son and his friend. The staff was excellent outside and inside with security and handling of the patrons that had to be removed. The waiting for the concert to start was ridiculous! Very unprofessional on the part of the artist! Riff raff put on an excellent show and his warm up DJ was good too. I would not recommend seeing him again because of the 3 hour wait but would defiantly recommend this venue for it's excellent work at keeping the patrons at the club safe and able to enjoy the concert without drunk and/ or disorldly people there!
