Bottom line - Ricky Gervais is funny. If anyone is offended by his act, they need to stop taking life so seriously.

About Ricky Gervais on Tour
For Ricky Gervais, comedy means the freedom to say everything he's not supposed to. Following his worldwide hit Humanity, the British actor, writer and stand-up performer's first full-length live show SuperNature is another no-holds-barred showcase for one of the most fearless wits in contemporary comedy.
His sixth live tour, SuperNature displays the stage prowess Gervais first established when his show Rubbernecker became a hit at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2001. That same year, Gervais and his regular collaborator Stephen Merchant changed the course of comedy television with the BBC debut of The Office. A groundbreaking mockumentary about a dysfunctional workplace, the series yielded a rich variety of iconic characters, Gervais' most famous creation being general manager David Brent.
Though Gervais followed up the global success of The Office with more hilarious forays into television, radio, film and podcasting, stand-up has remained at the core of his performing career. The 2003 debut of his show Animals marked the beginning of a series of successful comedy tours in the UK and throughout the world. Humanity, recorded for a live special on Netflix, brought a triumphant return to touring in 2017 and 2018. SuperNature is set to debut on Netflix in later 2020.
Ricky Gervais Background
An influential figure in comedy, Ricky Gervais has delighted in pushing buttons and boundaries ever since he first gained wider attention with the 2001 debut of The Office. The series became a favorite of audiences worldwide for its sharp and funny portrayal of a workplace overseen by Gervais' most famous character: the self-obsessed and self-deluded manager David Brent.
Created and written by Gervais with partner Stephen Merchant, The Office led to a wide and wildly creative array of projects, shows and roles in TV, film, radio, podcasting and publishing. Gervais reunited with Merchant for several more TV series, including Extras and Life's Too Short. Gervais' big-screen credits include Muppets Most Wanted, For Your Consideration and the Night at the Museum franchise. Millions of viewers also got a taste of his savage wit during his many stints as host of the Golden Globes.
Ricky Gervais' stand-up career continued with sell-out tours for such shows as Animals and Fame. First performed in 2017 and later released as a live special on Netflix, Humanity established him as a preeminent performer in the comedy world.
Rating: 4 out of 5by leesha2325 on 5/13/10The Theater at Madison Square Garden - New York Rating: 4 out of 5 Not for the overly sensitive!
by KaneLucas on 5/13/10The Theater at Madison Square Garden - New YorkIn this show Ricky Gervais blends sections from previous favourites such as Animals with new routines pulling them together with his infectious boyish grin and laugh. As usual Ricky is dressed in jeans and black t-shirt and casually drinks a beer throughout the show. Fans of Ricky will be all too aware that nothing is taboo - jokes centre around obesity, 9/11, religion and other near the knuckle subjects. So, if these things may offend you best stay away.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Great Time

Rating: 2 out of 5 Disappointing
by vpbarreras on 5/13/10The Theater at Madison Square Garden - New YorkI attended last year's performance, which was absolutely brilliant! This year was much more dark, touched on many un-PC issues in a mildly offensive manner and he seemed to be a bit off, as well. Having lived in the UK during a time when friends would gather 'round the tele to watch each week's episode of "The Office" and chat about it the next day at work - I appreciate his comic genius. Hence, I have high expectations. However, I will definitely see him again in the future, though I was disapointed with last night's routine and performance.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Ricky Gervais - some old, some new.
by Duplo on 5/13/10The Theater at Madison Square Garden - New YorkI guess as an Englishman I have been spoilt somewhat with Ricky Gervais, from the old XFM days, through the Office and the podcasts, Extras and his films, so I was expecting to be a little bit disappointed with the material, however the only really old thing he did was the piece about homosexuality in Animals, from Animals his first live standup. The difference here was that I was really close to the stage, and watching it live rather than on the TV, so I can forgive him a little repetition for the spectacle. What did amaze me was his piece about a goat he received for a family in Africa as a present, the piece that follows was straight out of the mouth of one Mr K Pilkington, for which Ricky (And Steve) tore him to pieces for his idiocy in not understanding how it all worked! Ricky then repeats it in the first person, if I were Karl I would be asking for a cut! It is an excellent joke nonetheless. What Ricky does best for me is lambasting religion, particularly the old testament and he goes further this time with a dissection of the story of Noah which raises some excellent questions. Thoroughly enjoyed being an Englishman in New York watching Rick and there's a certain sense of pride watching Reading's finest on stage at Madison Square Garden

Rating: 3 out of 5 Ricky Gervais funny, but overpriced.
by Jimmmmmmmmm on 5/13/10The Theater at Madison Square Garden - New YorkMr. Gervais is a funny man and a solid standup comedian. Unfortunately, he failed to deliver any new material. If you have seen any of his previous standup, you would be wise to skip this show. I felt the event was over priced and shorter than I had expected.
Rating: 5 out of 5 I laughed my a** off
by edzhead on 5/13/10The Theater at Madison Square Garden - New YorkWhat a great show! I laughed from the first joke to the last. I knew he was funny but I had no idea he was this funny. His humor is a bit "sick" as he himself describes it, but if you are a fan of bold irreverent comedy this is the show for you!
Rating: 3 out of 5 Too short!
by lovesalaugh on 5/13/10The Theater at Madison Square Garden - New YorkRicky Gervais is hilarious, witty and pushes the border on many sensitive subjects. Definitely enjoyable if you're not uptight! BUT, THE SHOW WAS WAY TOO SHORT! Be ready for an early evening!

by icedglass on 5/12/10The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College - New YorkThe venue was spectacular! Only 600 people. Great staff, very acomodating. Ricky was warming up for his upcoming tour and he was in fine form. The audience laughed at everything...somethings were off-color but not vulgar. He seemed relaxed and happy.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Splendid No Holds Barred
by TommyLockers on 5/12/10The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College - New YorkGreat show. Funniest comedian out there right now. Makes fun of anything and anyone, hence No Holds Barred. The guy is a genius and humble too. Great show, and would recommend you see him.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Ricky Gervais was awesome!
by Windy451 on 5/12/10The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College - New YorkI've been a fan for awhile now, but never got to see Ricky perform live until last night. I was happy just to be able to get a ticket (had tried several times before at other venues with no luck) and was thrilled to see that I was in the front row! He came out and just rocked the house. One of the funniest people on the planet, for sure. I recommend seeing him to anyone who loves to laugh.
Rating: 5 out of 5 LOVE
by RissyRis on 5/12/10The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College - New YorkTodd Barry hit it out of the park getting things started. I laughed so hard my sides hurt. Ricky also was hilarious even in his awkward moments. Someone started heckling him in the crowd and his real time comebacks were priceless. I saw his tour last year and thought this one was even funnier.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Ricky Gervais always funny!
by Anonymous on 5/12/10The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College - New YorkI was told he was raunchier than on TV and he was. But it was never in bad taste. The guy is funny as can be. Great Show and venue. It's a really small theater, and we got pit tickets, we were almost on the stage. Great. Great Great!
