  • AMAZING CONCERT!

    by Becca814 on 2/4/17Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

I've waited over 30 years to see Rick Astley in concert, and he did NOT disappoint. The venue (Uptown Theater in Napa, CA) was small, but no seat was a bad seat, and there was plenty of leg room. From the minute he took the stage, to the minute he left, he had the crowd singing and dancing. His voice has lost none of its power over the years; he sounds (and looks) great! Rick played all of his 80's hits, as well as quite a few songs off his new album "50" and a couple of covers from the likes of such artists as Nat King Cole and Bruno Mars. Definitely a mixed bag of songs that kept the audience on their toes, literally and figuratively. And then he ended on "Never Gonna Give You Up", which had everyone up and out of their seats. This was a show to remember and worth every penny.

Thanks to Rick for such a great show. Twenty years off the road didn't hurt him one bit.

This was a great concert! Rick is still at the top of his game with an incredible voice and outstanding performance. I would go see him again if he returns to the bay area. For all 80s fans, this is a must!

  • Rick Astley, great show!

by YoviB on 1/30/17Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show! The venue is lovely. We loved the cafe, where we got a light dinner and drinks before the show! Parking was super easy and there was plenty in the nearby lots. The seats (even though we were row W) were great! You could see the stage just fine and the sound was perfect. Rick Astley is a wonderful performer and such a talented singer. LOVED him and hope he comes back to Napa.

  • Rick Astley is amazing. Go see him!

by Nanskid on 1/30/17Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

He still has the voice and the range. Yes, he sings the hits from the past, but seriously, the new album is his best work yet. Buy the album, go see him if you can. He's lovely, warm, and humorous in person. And he sings! Extremely well! And not to a backing track! No lipsyncing in this show!

Rick Astley is not only a great singer but a wonderful preformer as well sharing his music and his gift of speaking and taking his audience down memory lane back to the 80's and back up through today! A very personal performance

Great energy. Great music. I remember listening to Rick Ashley in my youth but had never credited him with such amazing talent. We had a blast!

  • My old good days were back!

by Kennykenbo on 1/30/17Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

When 80's stars were on TV, radio and other media, I was still young and poor to not be able to afford concert tickets. After many years, with Rick's live, I finally had a awesome moments with music I love! Rick sang so well, His voice was not really much changed from 80's at all. Beautiful!! He was funny, loved his fan, creating very cozy atmosphere. I hope he will be back again to us near future!

His new album, 50, is a soulful mix of original songs written by Rick Astley. His backup singer is fantastic. His band and his voice are very powerful. The funnest concert I have been to in the last five years.

  • Rick took us home!

by buddy002 on 1/24/17Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This is my first Rick Astley concert, but I'm a long time fan. My wife and I both thought that he sounded great, and his band is top notch. The posters show that this is the "50" tour, so we knew that we were going to get plenty of the new songs from his latest album. We were OK with that since we've been getting into the newest album, and we enjoy it. I think that Rick struck a good balance between the new songs, and several songs from his first (Whenever You Need Somebody) and second (Hold Me In Your Arms) albums, with several surprises along the way. Because I'm into his music so much, I would of liked to hear more from "Free," although I shouldn't complain because we did get 'Cry For Help.' I was fine that we didn't get anything from "Body & Soul," but I really would've loved to hear from "Keep It Turned On," and especially from "Portrait." However, the show did go for an hour and 45 minutes, packed with great sounding music and tons of fun. Bottom line, I'm giving it 5 stars because it is great fun for fans like me and those that just casually know Rick Astley for 'Never Gonna Give You Up.'

Rick Astley is unlike any other performer out there - his talent is pure, authentic and genuine. From the multiple instruments he played, to the stories he told about each of the songs, to his charisma, he is an artist well worth catching live every opportunity you can!
