Ricardo Montaner on Tour

A Latin music legend known for peerless romantic balladry, Argentine-Venezuelan hit maker Ricardo Montaner is a comforting presence in a rapidly changing world. Since first topping Latin charts in 1986, he has recorded with a symphony orchestra, released albums of Italian pop music, paid tribute to Mexican regional music and, with the help of his children, spiced up his signature style with up-to-the-minute electronics. The crooner's crooner has released more than two dozen albums and sold more than 65 million albums worldwide.

Standing on stage, his signature boyish tenor a soaring emotional delivery system, Montaner seems to hold his audience's hearts in his hands. His concerts are song treks through his musical career, a mixture of recent hits and classics, and, as he told the Arizona Republic, "a musical rendezvous" and "an encounter with my followers."

Ricardo Montaner in Concert

Born Héctor Eduardo Reglero Montaner in Argentina in 1957, Montaner moved to Venezuela with his family six years later. Since the start of his career in the late '70s, he has focused on heartfelt romantic balladry while making regular forays into other styles to become one of Latin pop's most consistently successful artists. Two albums from the late '80s, both titled Ricardo Montaner (volumes one and two), introduced his first telenovela themes along with international hits such as "Tan Enamorados," "A Donde Va el Amor?" and "Sólo con un Beso."

As one of his more than two dozen album titles puts it, Ricardo Montaner is a musical viajero frecuente (a frequent flyer). A trip to England resulted in his first million-selling album, Con la London Metropolitan Orchestra, a collection of hits in a symphonic setting. He has also applied his relaxing and wistful style to Dominican bachata ("Resumiendo") and Mexican bolero ("Bésame"). His 2016 album Ida y Vuelta paid tribute to Mexican regional styles and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Latin Pop Albums chart. Montaner, a Christian convert, recorded the duet "La Gloria de Dios" with his daughter, the actress and singer Evaluna Montaner, and their video has been seen nearly a half-billion times. In 2019, the singer released Montaner, an electronico-romantico collaboration with his musical sons, who perform as Mau y Ricky. In addition to his musical accomplishments, Montaner is a philanthropist committed to children's causes and fighting xenophobia.

  • Agradecido was unforgettable!!!

by Dirdi on 4/12/16AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was simply unforgettable. The power point behind stage was amazing and entertaining. The dancers/back up singers were terrific! First time that I see that the chorus girls can sing, dance, and entertain as well!!! Time passed so fast that the audience was just sitting waiting for more even though Ricardo gave his best performance ever!!! I knew that i could not miss this show for anything in the world and it exceeded my expectations!! Congratulations for a great presentation!! I hope that it is made public that Montaner treated his audience with the honor and respect that we always expect from our artists!!! May he be granted with health and willpower to continue creating spectacular music!

  • see me not, hear me not

by Joselynvz on 4/11/16AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

Very poor lighting. Flood lights were pointed directly to our section making it almost impossible to see the stage. Terrible sound - the band volume was way too high and the artist voice was lost in the noise.

  • One of my favorite artists

by Anonymous on 4/11/16House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time at the House of Blues. I really liked the atmosphere. Had good seats on the second floor. I prefer a more intimate setting like this instead of a large arena. At first it seemed a little loud but once my ears got adjusted the sound was very good. I have several of his CD's but to experience him in person was wonderful. The sax and guitar solos were a great addition to the vocals. Getting the audience involved in the singing made the concert even more fun and enjoyable. We were all singing and dancing in place. I left the concert with a big smile on my face. What a great entertainer! Thank you so much for a wonderful and memorable musical evening! My wife is from Peru but I am from the USA and speak little Spanish but Love Latin music. I am a vocalist so I really appreciate his skill and craft.

  • RICARDO MONTANER BRINGS BACK THE MEMORIES...

by LegendsWatcher on 4/11/16AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

the show started almost one hour late as the arena did not seem to be full. Montaner sang all his hit songs, a bit quivery at first but eventually sounded like his old self. good vibes, good chorus and heartfelt political statements. He said goodbye after a little over an hour and came back predictably for an encore. Overall a good show. With a little more respect for the fans that showed up on time, it could have been a great show

The acoustics were terrible. I did not understand about 95% of the words sung and about 50% of the spoken words.

  • I did not know it was going to be that good

by Leon89965 on 7/3/13El Paso County Coliseum - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5

I went there with my wife just trying to do something different . It turned out to be a great experience and a fantastic entertainer. Made us laugh, remember, and even wanted to dance a little. It was poor attendance at the event and he performed as if we were millions! He just gave a great show and we had a great experience!

Montaner is one of the best Spanish-speaking composers/singers... with a remarkable voice, and candid personality. He is kind, down-to-earth, funny, and very entertaining. I'd definitely go see him again with my beloved wife. Our love has been rekindled! Thank you Ricardo! God bless!
