About

REAL FRIENDS IN CONCERT:

Chicago pop punk collective Real Friends have said they pride themselves on creating music that makes listeners feel less alone. That sentiment is nowhere more apparent apparent than when the quintet plays live on tour. Concertgoers can't help but sing along as frontman Dan Lambton shouts out painfully honest tunes about sadness, heartache, and, ultimately, moving on. From the emotional devastation of "Floorboards" to the angsty satisfaction of "I've Given Up On You", Real Friends' concerts offer a relatable and high-energy concert experience that ticket buyers won't soon forget. Who would have thought heartbreaking music could be so fun?

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bassist Kyle Fasel and guitarist Dave Knox formed Real Friends in 2010 in The South Side of Chicago. They recruited singer Dan Lambton and guitarist Eric Haines before rounding out the lineup with drummer Brian Blake, whom they found on Craigslist. Their debut EP, 2011's This Is Honesty, introduced their knack for honest, relatable lyrics and featured an emo-tinged pop punk sound in the vein of Jimmy Eat World and The Starting Line. Over the next couple years Real Friends recorded four more EPs including their breakout release, 2013's Put Yourself Back Together. The band's rise continued in 2014 with a tour alongside The Wonder Years, a string of dates on the Vans Warped Tour, and the release of their full-length debut album Maybe This Place Is The Same And We're Just Changing -- a No. 24 hit on the Billboard 200 chart.

Taylor Acorn, Real Friends, and more!

by Blake on 10/11/22Baltimore Soundstage - Baltimore

The venue was so hyped and the music was killer! Taylor Acorn was everything I hoped she'd be and more. The Home Team, With Confidence, and Real Friends were all new bands to me. But after hearing them, they all got added to my playlists, on sight. I hope to see them all again in the future! 10/10 for the whole night!

    Fantastic Time

by Jason on 9/9/19The Foundry - Philadelphia

This has been my 19th time seeing Real Friends and first time seeing them at this venue. Ticketmaster made it easy to get my ticket on my phone. I just wish the fees were not as expensive.

    Weak headliner/ solid openers

by Goodwrench184 on 6/12/17Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Real Friends seemed too high or too "over" touring to put on a decent show despite performing an exhausting hour long set that consisted of rehearsed, poorly acted intermitant skits and lazy, unenthused song performances.

    Everyone ways incredible!

by jordynbats on 6/11/17Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

I love love love these Broadisde and they were all some of the nicest people ever! They all hung out after the show and I got to give them the bracelets I made them, get autographs and take pictures. Niles did an awesome ninja kick off the wall during Storyteller that I caught on video and he was super excited I got video evidence that he was a ninja. Nothing, Nowhere was amazing by far the best band I've seen perform without knowing them before hand. The Real Friends were great in every way imaginable Eric and Kyle were there to welcome you to the venue before the show, and their performance was great!

Real Friends never fails to disappoint. The first time I saw them they were supporting Mayday Parade and to see them headline a show and sell it out was incredible

by BigBoi123 on 5/14/17Delmar Hall - Saint Louis

I went for Real Friends, and they killed it, but Tiny Movin Parts by far had the best show all night. Best live show I've seen in a long long time, if you get a chance to see them do it! So much amazing emotion and infectious energy packed into a performance

Amazing band. They sound as great live as they do on the recording. They interact with the crowd a lot and they're very entertaining. It was an amazing show. I would definitely see them like 200 more times.

    This group is moving

by crittles on 11/26/14The Sinclair - Cambridge

Although the lead singer was not feeling well you could not tell and he delivered a great set. The venue which was new to us was outstanding. This band is going places and everyone should be on board with them to take that journey. I seen them at evey venue in Mass and it just gets better and better. Rock on boys!!!!

Have Mercy were excellent, Cruel Hand seemed out of place on the tour but still kept the crowd entertained, and the guys in Neck Deep seem pretty sexist to me but their fans seem to absolutely go nuts for them. Bailed before Real Friends.
