    Club Swing

Five By Design was really good. The Reading Symphony Orchestra was great! It was a very enjoyable evening. So glad we celebrated the New Year with RSO!

Music was good if you could hear it.

by FredsDad on 1/2/11Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

We liked the selection of music but we couldn't hear it very well. At times we couldn't hear what the singers were saying. They need to turn up the volume.

    Nutcracker

by MAE62 on 12/27/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

The show was very good. It had been years since the last time I saw the show with my daughter. We both enjoyed it, brought back so many good memories of seeing the show with her when she was little.

It was excellent, especially because my friends daughters were in a lot of the show. They are so talented.

As always, the performance was spectacular. Our granddaughter is also in ballet for the past 11 years and has seen this performance at least 7 times with us in Reading and once in Philadelphia. My husband, granddaughter and I all agreed that it was even better than ever. The costumes were new and fresh, the ballerinas were energetic, perfect in form and just beautiful. We all said that we enjoyed it, as always, in Reading more than even in Philadelphia.

Reading PA has a ballet & orchestra?!

by cdgrad1977 on 12/21/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

I've only seen the Nutcracker in Philadelphia and was pleasantly surprised by the Reading Orchestra & the Ballet Company! My daughter never saw a ballet and says she truly enjoyed herself. She thanked me several times for taking her. We don't have to drive to Philly to see a good show or hear wonderful music or find a good restaurant.

    First time seeing the Nutcracker

by Jolie13 on 12/21/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

I had never seen the Nutcracker before so I really was not aware of the story behind it. I did not find the summary of it in the booklet until intermission-it was then that I learned the soldiers were actually fighting the mice and Clara threw her slipper at the Mouse King to kill him. Those events were not very clear on stage. Although the music and dancing were wonderful, the acting did not always portray what the story was about. There was a lot of hard work and time that went into the production-the dancing was extraordinary.

    RSO: The Nutcracker, Simply Stunning!

by BuddySam on 12/21/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

The orchestra was spot on and the ballet performances were fantastic! A wonderful event for the holiday season. My personal favorite was the graceful performance given by a toy-soldier center stage!

    Opening concert

by SusanAtkinsWeiser on 10/4/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

The Wagner seemed stiff with no color. The Schumann pianist performance was exceptionally well done with subtlety as needed and fire when required. The pianist technique was phenomenal. The Brahms is not one of my favorite symphonies but was enjoyable. The seats were excellent.

The Guest Conductor, Brad Thachuk, did a great job of bringing together all the players together for an entertaining evening of fun and music, including, the Reading Symphony Orchestra, the Reading Choral Society with Broadway Soloists, William Michals and Lisa Vroman.

the show was good. I would have prefered to hear more of the orchrastra than singing. but overall it was a great way to spend and evening with my valentine.

    An Enjoyable Evening

by Snowbound2 on 2/14/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

What a lovely way to spend an evening. The performance was pleasant and the pace of the performances kept you interested in what was happening on stage. Wish more of this type of performance would come to Reading. With all the snow we thought the streets and sidewalks might be covered with snow or ice. We were pleasantly surpised not to have any trouble navigating to the theater at all.

Reading Symphony Orchestra is a jewel!

by RSOfan on 2/14/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

The RSO's Valentine's Day pops concert featured some of the greatest tunes from Rodgers and Hammerstein's Broadway musicals. The RSO sounded great, as always, and soprano Losa Vroman and Baritone William Michals were brilliant. Lisa and William had the audience enthusiastically singing along to tunes from The Sound of Music and Oklahoma. Whether you prefer pops concerts or classical concerts, you don't have to travel to Philadelphia or New York City to hear a fine professional orchestra. We have a great orchestra right here in Reading.
