Could have been a lot better

by donaldp1 on 3/20/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

You don't need Ray's son doing more than 2 songs. Song list left out some songs I wanted to hear. To give Ray a rest during the show, should have had Bobby Flores sing a few songs, like Danny Boy or any others he wanted to sing. That would have made it a spectacular show.

Ray was wonderful. I became dis-enchanted when the local newspaper did not seem that his performance was worth a review.

    A Lifetime Opportunity

by Anonymous on 3/19/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

Ray Price layed his audience out like he's done for over 60 years, bringing us to our feet multiple times during his performance. His silver baritone reaches the lows, and his tenor is unrivaled in Country and Western. He sat through most of the performance, a concession to his 86 years, but he was right on key and time, always.

    Ray Price was great

by seniorgirl on 3/19/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

For a man to be 86 years young and just getting out of the hospital he put on a great show. He can still sing those great country oldies like he did years ago. His son does a great job also - he's following right in his Dad's footsteps. His son comes close but there will never be another Ray Price!!!!!! Loved the show.

    Just as great at 86

by Dkg59 on 3/19/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

At 86 Ray Price did look a little frail, but his voice seemed as strong and effortless as ever. I would pay to go again and again.

    Price is the consummate entertainer!

by SAstarstruck on 3/19/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

At the age of 86, Ray Price still has the voice! He can still hit the notes, his tone is impeccable, and he is a gracious entertainer. He is "the best thing that ever happened" to country music. What a legend!

    Excellent!

It was an amazing evening by a living legend. Ray Price demonstrated true professionalism, singing many old favorites. One thing I particularly enjoyed was his diction--absolutely perfect. Just wish the show had lasted longer. Even though he was recently hospitalized, he gave a superb performance with some outstanding musicians. He also shared some tidbits of his story I did not know. I am really glad I was there!

The greatest of the great! Ray Price is a legend in his time. That man is wonderful...his voice sounds just like it did back when I was in high school. His Cherokee Cowboys are awesome. The music was wonderful...I mean this man knows what country music is.....

    Ray's still got it!!

by kenmarSA on 3/19/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

Went to see Ray Price, expecting a good concert by an elderly performer who would do his best but miss notes, forget words, etc. Man, was I wrong! Ray put on a stellar performance singing his top hits with a voice a clear and true as it was forty years ago. He had a top-notch band, but with out a doubt, the superstar is still performing. I'd go see him again this week if he was back in town!!!

    AWESOME!

by SAcoog on 3/19/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

An awesome performance for a legend who is 86 years old. If only he would have sang Danny Boy on St. Patrick's Day as his last song.

    The voice is still there

by lindaathome on 3/19/12Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

I have been joking about the "Catch Them Before They Croak" tour this year, but I'm going to see performers that I just didn't appreciate when I was younger. I treated my husband to this concert for our 34th anniversary and he loved it. Ray Price may not be as spry as Tony Bennett, but his voice is still strong. I'm not a big fan of country, but Ray Price singing ballads is timeless.

Ray Price was excellent. He put on a good show. Can't believe he still has such a strong voice for his age.
