About

Not crooked in the sense we’re criminals, in fact we barely have a speeding ticket between us. Crooked in the sense that we see the world a little crooked, we tell stories with slants. We sing for characters who rarely take the straight path. Catchy because we like catchy music and this way if no one else likes it at least we can enjoy belting out these classics at family dinner. That’s highly unlikely however, this record is fucking good. Rare Americans. Two Canadian Priestner brothers who’d never written a song together until a year ago and a crazy Slovakian guitar virtuoso named Lubo. Go figure. Catch Rare Americans bringing venues like House of Blues San Diego to capacity on their upcoming tour.

    Great Concert

by Soul on 10/13/22The Foundry - Philadelphia

Rare Americans is my boyfriends favorite band, and since the concert was the day before his birthday, it made the best birthday present and surprise! The band was super nice and willing to chat with fans after the concert, my boyfriend got pictures with the band and got his poster and CD signed by all members. At one point during the concert James Priestner (Lead singer) came out into the middle of the audience and played a few songs on acoustic guitar, he was right in front of where i was standing.

    It was great!

by Crystal on 10/12/22The Foundry - Philadelphia

I loved everything about it honestly, it was my first concert and i just loved the experience. The only thing though the place was very packed and very little room to move around in a tight dpace but overall it was good.

    RA-MAZING

by Ella on 10/12/22The Foundry - Philadelphia

Literally a highlight of my year and concert-goings. Crowd and band were super friendly and rad, the show had a bunch of exclusive, dope merch and content. Fun little Easter eggs and references and motifs of their music. The venue was clean and pretty; the band was also really close. During a small QnA, I got picked on by raising my hand. It was so cool and made my night one not to forget. Tickets were more than fairly priced and I'd love to see Rare Americans again and maybe get VIP if possible.

    Chillin With The Rare Americans

by Ducky on 10/1/22House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

The venue that they booked was kind of small, but the concert was amazing! The way that they connect with their fans is something I haven't seen in a long time! #RARules

    Absolutely Phenomenal

by Mel on 10/1/22House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

I saw Rare Americans in New Orleans September of 2022 and in Atlanta March of 2022. Their shows always feel fun, personal, and interactive. I cannot reccomend seeing them enough. Out of 40+ concerts I've been to, Rare Americans puts on the best concerts I've ever experienced and it was worth the 20+ hours of driving I've put in this year to see them. If saying that doesn't convince you to see them, I dont know what will.

    I loved it

    by Finch <3 on 9/19/22

First off I’ve always loved Rare Americans since RA1. I have a signed copy of RA2 and of bad world, and I have to say they are even better in concert. I love live music and this was perfect. The energy was there and the opener (DYLAN) was absolutely perfect. He interacted with the audience, made the show engaged, and even went into the middle of the crowd and asked for suggestions. I was legit back to back with him and it was surreal. He also was speaking to audience members individually. Overall I had an amazing time and it was so cheap. Top 5 concert I’ve ever been too.

    Rare Experiences with Rare Americans

by Curiouscomb on 9/18/22House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

Amazing show with two Canadian based bands who made it all the way down to our humble city of San Diego. Rocking tunes and an energy that had me worried for the building's framing, and above all else something I would do again anytime.

    Excellent

by Lisa on 9/18/22House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

Had a fabulous time. Venue was cool and eccentric. Everyone was super nice. Dylyn opened for them. Great job getting crowd energized. Rare Americans was fabulous. Tons of interaction with their fans. Got autographs and phtotos after. Group is so much fun and down to Earth. Fans were all nice and so happy. One fan dressed up as Nicky and let everyone take photos. A fabulously great night and experience.

    Studio Band

by SD Local on 9/18/22House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

Was really looking forward to this show, been listening since RA1; but I knew something was off when they told everyone to pull out there phones in the first 5mins. They have a very young fan base that is the epitome of where modern shows are going. DONT LIVE IN THE MOMENT AND RECORD IT ALL FOR A POST! The Q and A mid set was the last straw for me, halting the show to a complete stop to answer questions any interview has already asked. A lot of people said this was their first show, and I worry for where music will be when the crowds are more worried about the videos they take on their phones instead of enjoining the moment.
