Actors were good. This is a children's show, right? The story as presented at Casa was a little over the head of most 4 year olds. I did not like the Gay hairdresser guy - children didn't need to see that. First act was slow - last act had all the interesting parts and action thrown together in a few minutes. I will think long and hard before buying tickets for my grandchildren at Casa again for shows like this.
Took my daughter & my boyfriend and we all absolutely loved this performance! My daughter has been bragging to everyone and is begging to go back soon!
My whole family had a really good time on Saturday .
I took my three year old daughter and she loved it!! She was leaning forward and intrigued the whole show!! I read other reviews and got nervous, but it was well worth the money. They did not change the the set or costumes but the actors did amazing job. My daughter is already asking to go back.
Great show great cast very funny and clean performance perfect for kids!
I took my 8 year old daughter to see this show on Sunday, February 17th, and she is still talking about it and quoting lines from her fave characters. I felt it was a bit rushed, but it was highly entertaining. My daughter and I laughed almost the entire show. The costumes were brilliant, and I love the flamboyant hair dresser as well as Lady Zaza (Gaga) - too funny! It definitely put a cute modern spin on the story that I never thought of. Love this theatre and all of the productions!
This is the first play for my 4 year old grand daughter - she loved it. The look on her face was worth a million dollars. And my 22 year old daughter loved it too - so did I!
We left at the intermission, I do not think this belongs in the childrens theatre. My grand daughter did not like it!!!!
All of the characters were wonderful but gypsy woman was the best. Whether it was her part as written or the actor overplaying her part, she was wonderful. Lady ZaZa was one of the most evil fairy tail characters I've encountered with my granddaughter...she loved her and loved all her hair styles. A very memorable afternoon.
This production was absolutely wonderful. My granddaughter and I had a "girls night out" and just loved it. She especially liked when the characters come through the audience and when "Rupunzel's boyfriend" (that's what she called him) came right up to her and said "Ssssshhhh". We can always count on having a great family time at Casa! I personally also liked the added contempory humor.
Funny, wonderful music, enjoyable for adults and children.
Wonderful! Beautiful costumes! We thoroughly enjoyed it!
Very, very disappointed in Casa Manana for choosing this adaptation of Repunzel. The story line revolved around Repunzel's hair and the knight's best friend who was a hair dresser. The "hair" comedy was poor. This was not worthy of a Saturday evening at Casa Manana. This should have been a $5.00 ticket on Saturday mornings at 9:00. The set was simple & never changed. There were approximately 5-7 actors in the play. The actors did a good job with what they had to work with. However, it was painful to watch! My princesses are 8 & 9. One of them had a hard time staying awake & the other asked if we could leave?!?! If Casa is going to do Repunzel and choose such a far off adaptation of the Disney story, it should be advertised appropriately.
This was awesome!!! My daughter loved it! She enjoyed every minute!
Omg it was amazing!!!! I would go again to see it I drove from Dallas to ft worth to see it!!! I has a wonderful time and my kinds loved it my 4 year old loved it and my 1 year old sat and watched the whole thing!!!!
I have an eight year old daughter who loved this show. I am surprised to tell you that I really loved it as well. After reading some of the previous reviews of Casa's production, I have to say that the reason why I liked it so much was the reason why some of them didn't like it. I LOVED the modern references! Who want's to go and see just another, typical version of "Rapunzel"? This one was funny, clever and appropriate for all ages including adults. My daughter especially loved audience participation. The singing was wonderful as well as the acting and all in all, we had a blast going to see this show. If you want to go see a very plain, typical production of "Rapunzel", this is not for you. This is definitely a modern re-telling of a classic story and that is why my daughter and I enjoyed it so much.
I went with my little sister, she is 11. The play was so boring. They never changed stage set ups and hardly used any props. Seemed very low budget, I'm sure the actors are even embarrassed to be in such a boring production. Even little kids were bored. There was never much going on on stage except actors talking. Really, a family could've put on a more exciting play in their living room. Sorry, but very disappointing.
We attend Casa plays all the time and Rapunzel was so very disappointing!!! The play is not for children. The story is terrible and the jokes were written for adults. I took a 9, 5, 4, and 3 year old and they were all bored because it was so very far over their heads. An entire row behind us left at intermission, which we should have done. The one star I gave was for the set not the play
Rapunzel was perfect for my daughters age (4). I even laughed a few times myself. It seemed younger kids in the audience didn't quite make it through the whole thing so I don't know if I would take a child much younger. My daughter is already asking to go back! By the way, every seat in the theatre is a good seat. So if you're in the back, you can still see perfectly.
