About The Raptors 905
Mississauga, Ontario, is home to what has already become one of the most successful teams in the National Basketball Association's G League. Founded in 2015 and replacing the Mississauga Power of the National Basketball League, the Raptors 905 already have appeared in two G League Finals. They won the G League title in 2017 when they defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
The 905 name stems from the area code of the Greater Toronto Area, and the rapidly growing suburbs from which the Raptors 905 operate. With a population of more than 720,000, Mississauga is Toronto's largest suburb by far and the sixth most populous municipality in all of Canada.
Raptors 905 play out of the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, which opened as the Hershey Centre in 1998 and has a capacity of 5,400 for basketball. It also is home to the Ontario Hockey League's Mississauga Steelheads, and was a venue for the 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games. For select games, the Raptors 905 play 30 kilometres east at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena, which normally hosts their parent club and has a capacity of 20,270.
The Raptors 905 are owned and operated by the Toronto Raptors, as one can discern from their name. The 905 play in the Atlantic Division of the NBA G League Eastern Conference, which includes the Delaware Blue Coats, Long Island Nets, Maine Red Claws, and Westchester Knicks. All five teams in the division are either affiliated with or owned outright by teams in the NBA Atlantic Division, breeding rivalries that tie in to those of their parent clubs.
Notable players to have suited up for the 905 include Jared Sullinger, Lucas Nogueira, Sim Bhullar, and 2013 NBA Draft No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett. Longtime NBA veteran Jerry Stackhouse was selected as the league's Coach of the Year in 2017 after leading the 905 to their first title.
Every seat is a good seat! The best venue I've been to in a long time. Grateful for the security that is in place during events. I felt very comfortable there. Thank you for a great evening! Our guest really enjoyed it too.
I really like the paramount Centre and all the amenities .
We had a great time. Sat first row and interacted with the cheer squad and the raptor mascot as well. Our kids had a blast!!!
I arrived right at game time. There was a huge lineup outside to get into the building - I’m talking hundreds of people! It was bitterly cold and I was not dressed for standing outside for 45 minutes. I missed the first quarter of the game and nearly half of the second quarter. What the heck? It was a horrible experience - I don’t understand what the problem was. I am not likely to attend another game at this venue.
First time visiting paramount. Easy to get to, easy parking. The 4 of us had front row seats and the kids were able to interact with some of the players. Will repeat
We missed 1 and a half quarters of the game because of how slow the lineup was moving. I will not be attending an event here again. The game was fun though once we eventually made it inside.
Great event, great value but why do I have to miss a quarter of the game to stand in line for some popcorn?
Compared to the price for tickets to a Toronto Raptors game this is GREAT value for the quality and price point. Highly recommend.
It was a great evening of basketball for a very affordable price. I do wish there was a sit down restaurant in the Centre. If there is one we didn’t find it.
We had a great time at the event which was well organized and very entertaining. We need to hold more events like this in the East side of the city.
So much excitement, I lost my voice for a few days from cheering so hard. I loved being so close to the court the seats were amazing Section 11 Row D. Can’t wait to go back.
First off, let me say thank you! Last night was AMAZING!!!! I brought my wife & 2 daughters and we all had so much fun. The game was awesome, the snacks were awesome, free t shirts, thunder sticks...... Oh muh GOSH!!! We made the trip from Waterloo, long time fan, first time in the Arena. On top of my positive feedback, I'd also like to offer some constructive criticism. I may be ignorant to some of the facts but will offer this anyway. We found a major GENDER BIAS in the fan participation contestants yall chose. The halftime shootout was ALL males was it not? If you feel the need to segregate genders in these contests, please have 2 of them in the future so girls & women have a chance to SHINE too! LOve ya! We'll be back again!
We always have a great time going to see the raptor 905
My friend and I were at Raptors 905 game. I thought they are NBA Raptors but not. I was a bit disappointed but we actually enjoyed the game! First for us to watch the exciting game just like on TV. Even though we are deaf we are not able to know who had fouls or calling timeouts etc - captions on screen would be a bonus for deaf community. Good to get out during the pandemic! Def for a return to watch again!
It was a good gane but great time with my boys What i didnt like was overly expensive to buy food
Getting row 1 tickets was very exciting, however we were less than pleased once we got there as the view of the court floor was not able to be seen. We moved a few rows higher in the 2nd quarter to get a better view.
It was fun! The game was close, and Van Vleet, Barnes, Masai and NN are all in attendance. Fun environment, and good experience for kids
Great day out with the kids. A positive attitude in areana, great atmosphere. Affordable tickets with great close view of the court. Great Afternoon and felt like a pro game.
It was my son’s first basketball game and even thought we didn’t stay long he did enjoyed so did I. Plus the bubbleheads were nice and the dancers were very nice towards my son.
If you want to watch good basketball, I doubt you can find better value. However, where this event lacks is the peripherals. Getting into the stadium was a nightmare. We arrived 30 minutes before tip-off and somehow missed most of the first quarter. Entry was very disorganized and haphazard, with seemingly no leadership. Concessions were no better. I missed most of the 3rd quarter trying to get my kids a couple of hot dogs... Improve these areas and this will be a 5 star, A+ value experience all around.
