  • RAIN

The buys in the band were not the same guys that are pictured in all the advertisements (like the picture above) and on TV. I don't know who the guys were but they didn't even resemble the Beatles in looks (like the advertisements and pictures) and their voices were not even close. I saw RAIN twice in the last few years and the appearance and vocals were dead on. The music this time around was great but the vocals were average. A lot of missed notes and some liberty with the lyrics. So I was hugely disappointed with this "version" of the band. I don't know if these guys were stand-ins because RAIN is performing on Broadway but I was a bit unhappy. I liked the songs they chose so if they come to the area again I will still go but it would have been nice to have known that a different "version" of the band was going to be playing and not the group of guys that I've seen twice before. The other group of guys had all the mannerisms of the four lads down to the last detail and their voices were so close you could close your eyes and swear it was the Beatles themselves. This group of guys that played at the Palace had a lot to be desired as far as likeness and vocals. There were a couple of songs where they took some liberty with the lyrics and I was a bit unhappy about that as well. The guy who played keyboards in the background was fantastic.

I LOVED HOW THEY TRIED TO MAKE IT ALL SEEM LIKE WE WERE THERE IN THE 60'S. HOWEVER I WISH THEY PERFORMED LONGER AS THIS WAS THE SHORTEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY DIDNT COVER ALOT OF MAJOR SONGS BUT AT THE SAME TIME THE BEATLES HAVE WAYYYY TO MUCH TO COVER IN ONE NIGHT. THE VENUE WAS NICE THE SEATS WERE GREAT.

  • Singin' in the Rain

by Sarjoe on 2/25/11Palace Theatre Albany - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

This was an enjoyable performance. The instrument play was especially impressive; the voices were super, in spite of a few flat, off key spots. I would imagine that the acoustics, both mechanical and "natural," were improved in other venues where Rain has performed, yet the audience heard what they had come to hear. The video show was fun and kept the audience busy, yet the sweeping light beams were dull and flat, not serving any real purpose.

Took my husband of sixty and my daughter of thirteen! We crossed generations and a universe! Wish we could see these guys more often. Go see them on broadway!

  • A Must See

    by Kelton11 on 2/25/11Palace Theatre Albany - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Rain was a memorable experience everyone should see at least once. They sound great, interact with the audience, and led the audience on a tour of music history as well as pop culture of the decades.

Loved it! The group interacted with the audience and got us on dancing our feet. I didn't want it to end.

The band was great. They sounded very much like the real thing. The no picture taking rule should be more strictly enforced.

  • Fine I guess.

by Anonymous on 11/22/10jdhfjh - BaltimoreRating: 2 out of 5

We saw them and they were fine I guess. Compared to 1964 The Tribute, the sound and authenticity of the costumes and manerisms was lacking. Maybe we are spoiled after seeing 1964.

  • Rain Concert - Great Fun!

by RyanWhob on 10/13/09Assembly Hall - ChampaignRating: 5 out of 5

The sound was great...the song selection included a wide variety...costumes were realistic. The band recognized that the majority of the audience were aging baby-boomers and catered to us!!

  • RAIN exceeds expectations

by gramslam on 10/1/09Assembly Hall - ChampaignRating: 5 out of 5

The Rain concert was every bit and more of what I expected. I was looking forward to hearing a band that had the look and sound of the Beatles. This was much more than that. The vocals and instruments were dead-on and the visuals were an added treat. The entire production was an amazing trip back in time. Loved it...can't stress that enough!

  • What a great performance!

    by beatlesfan96 on 10/1/09Assembly Hall - ChampaignRating: 5 out of 5

I was amazed by this fantastic performance! They sounded very much like the Beatles, paid close attention to detail by dressing like them and doing their hair like them, and also the old clips were a great effect. I felt like I was really at a Beatles concert, but got to enjoy each phase of their artistry all packed into one performace. I would recommend this to anyone who is a Beatles fan -- it was fantastic!

  • RAIN

by Conniejoe on 10/1/09Assembly Hall - ChampaignRating: 4 out of 5

My husband and I attended the event last night. It was very good. The band sounds very similar to the Beatles and the one who is portraying Paul, walks and talks like him, truly amazing. The show was lively with videos playing of actual footage of concerts and the landing in NYC as well as current events of that time. If you are a Beatles fan at all, I would suggest you attend.

  • Rain gave a completely adequate show

by Highgrassfarm on 10/1/09Assembly Hall - ChampaignRating: 4 out of 5

We had pretty good seats, from a distance they may have resembled the originals more. The music stands on it's own of course and they performed it well. The Paul character was probably the best vocally, the John character seemed to be trying. They did q good jon setting the mood. Don't get me wrong, the show was good. I'm just not sure it was worth the $48.00 ticket price.
