Awesome show! Definitely recommended for NPR and RadioLab fans alike. Live radio is amazing!

    Awesome

by MsSnow on 10/10/13Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

If you love listening to it on the radio, why not see it live? Great show, lots of humor, and, as usual, I learned a lot.

Great transition from radio to live stage

by prhmd on 10/10/13Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

The show had all the mesmerizing elements of good story-telling that the radio program has. But they also added creative, well-executed visual highlights that enhanced the story. In fact, it gave them a greater range of story-telling to be able to demonstrate what they were talking about. I learned new scientific facts, changed my perspective on some things, and had my heart touched more than once. You can't ask more than that from a performance! VERY well done.

    Wow!

I didn't know what to expect, but it was *way* better than I expected!

    An intellcutual evening

by Craig1000 on 10/10/13Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

I didn't know what to expect, as my partner arranged the evening. Very intelligent scientific material dramatically presented. I was always a big fan of Robert Krulwich, and I was a little disappointed he so obviously read from a script. But overall the evening was fun and informative.

    RADIOLAB. WAS. EPIC.

Jad Abumrad + Robert Krulwich + NPR + Comedy + Band + Giant Dinosaur Puppet = One hell of a night.

    Radiolab needs a stronger finish

by Schwortz on 10/10/13Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

The comedian was not well known, but he was lively and had several funny bits and stories. The dinosaur story and the bismuth section were solid classic Radiolab strong pieces. The third one about Parkinsons was long, drawn out, boring audio, and VERY poor visual. We were all yawnng. Its was disappointing watching such a poor ending. On a more positive note, Robert Krulwich told a story about his sister that was great, and the music was powerful. It was worth the ticket price just to see Jad do his DJ sound cue hand flourishes. Too bad the ending had us all falling asleep :(

Entertaining and well produced, but overpriced

by Anonymous on 10/10/13Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

Show was well produced and entertaining, but $45/ticket (which works out to $55 with the service fee from the theater) is a bit much for what it was. I love radiolab, but I'm a little disappointed it ended up being so expensive.

Amplifying their radio only show with images, videos and performances was more illuminating and exciting than anticipated!

My husband and I are huge fans of RadioLab and it was amazing to see Jad and Robert up on stage bringing their stories and interviews to life. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

    Great time

Seeing Radiolab live was great. My favorite story was the first one about new science regarding how the dinosaurs died. Entertaining and fascinating.

Remember those really neat, informative, science-y presentations you used to attend back in your school days? Of course you do, those were some of the best field trips! This show is exactly that for your adult mind! The audience was quite diverse, as I'm positive the Radiolab podcast listeners are. It was just as enthralling as a regular podcast, but having the visuals to back up the stories made it that much more entertaining. I watched the musicians handle every sound effect and was mesmerized at how they even played those sounds. The theater setting just lent itself perfectly to an expanded-yet-intimate show. I loved it, and really wish my friends in other states can check it out closer to home. The only tiny negative I had was that souvenirs were sold cash-only. I wish I had known this prior to arriving.

    Worth watching

by rolo2000 on 10/7/13Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

Really enjoyed it. There were three stories. The two that used visuals were really great. The one that was more like the radio show was hard to follow. But overall, it was really enjoyable. Music was also really neat.

    Radiolab never disappoints!

by BookBaby on 10/6/13Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

Our whole family loves listening to Radiolab, so we took 3 of our kids (ages 9, 11,13) to the show as well. All of us loved it!

Love Radiolab but didn't feel it was worth it

by arako on 10/6/13Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

I am an avid Radiolab fan and listener, so I was very excited for this live show. It was really cool to see the hosts in real life and have an in person experience with them, however, I feel the show was a bit disjointed and slow. It sometimes seemed like they weren't sure what they were doing next, which made me lose focus often. Also, the first half was really interesting, but the second half, I was trying not to fall asleep! The pacing was just so slow. I'd love to recommend it to everyone, but I just didn't feel like it was worth the money we paid to see it.

If you love Radiolab, this will blow you away

by AnniebelleBAW on 10/6/13Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

My fiance and I love Radiolab, so when I saw tickets for it live...it was a no brainer. And we were not disappointed! We had a great time, from the event itself right down to the venue (Palace Theatre in Columbus is gorgeous!) Again, if you're a fan of Radiolab, I would definitely recommend going to a live show if there's one near you!

If you love the broadcast, this is a must

by Kendallz on 12/3/12Chicago Theater - Chicago

If you are fans of the RadioLab broadcast, this is a must. If you are unfamiliar with RadioLab, this a science based radio show that tells up to threw unique stories that are all loosely related by a theme. Jad and Robert are two excellent storytellers that are not afraid to look at topics as far ranging as the afterlife to bubbles and always keep it interesting. "In the Dark" did not disappoint!

The crowd was great, the show made me laugh and cry, and the venue, as always, was amazing.

I love the actual podcasts as much as anyone else, but this show was way overpriced and really underwhelming. They didn't bring in the actual storytellers to give you a more intimate experience than the radio show. Rather, you sit listening to a (more poorly edited) version of the radio show through the speakers of the venue. The visual aids and music both managed to make the show less enjoyable somehow. I wish I could say I liked it more...but I can't.

It was really an excellent show. However, I had expected something different from their episodic format. Instead it was basically the same experience as listening to the show on the radio. I found that a little disappointing, but still enjoyed the show a great deal. The visuals in the last act of the show were incredible.
