About

RACHEL PLATTEN IN CONCERT:

Rising pop singer-songwriter Rachel Platten came out swinging in 2015 with her breakout hit “Fight Song”, and she pulls no punches at her unforgettable live performances. Platten’s dynamic voice and thoughtful lyrics convey equal parts confidence and vulnerability, and her inspiring concerts take ticket buyers on an empowering journey that runs the full gamut of emotions. She stunned fans at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards with her stripped-down rendition of “Fight Song”, proving herself a powerhouse performer with a confident and relaxed stage presence that belied her recent arrival in the spotlight. With her 2016 album Wildfire generating big buzz to match her larger-than-life voice, Platten is poised to become a full-blown pop sensation just in time for her next round of highly anticipated performances on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Massachusetts-born Rachel Platten grew up studying music and performing in her school choir. While studying at Trinity College she was a member of an all-female a cappella group, and after graduation she set out to pursue music full-time. She moved to Greenwich Village in New York and began performing with a Prince cover band before eventually playing her own solo shows. She released a demo album titled Trust in Me in 2003, then spent the better part of the next decade honing her craft before releasing her 2011 sophomore album Be Here. That album spawned a minor hit with “1,000” ships, but her career really took off in 2015 when she signed with Columbia Records and released the single “Fight Song”. The song was a Top 10 hit in the US, the UK, Australia and beyond, earning her two Teen Choice Award nominations and setting expectations sky high for her 2016 album Wildfire.

    Rachel Platten Wildfire Tour

by WUMess on 3/26/16Liberty Hall - Lawrence

This was an absolute gem of a concert. Her openers were both incredible and alone worth the price of admission. Hunter Hunted killed the opening set and Eric Hutchinson brought up the energy of the room even more. Rachel herself was so lively, humble, and pitch perfect. Her set was beautiful with a great combination of songs off of Wildfire and cool covers like Love Yourself. Great for any age and anyone who just likes good music.

I purchased VIP tickets and the week before the event, we received an email telling us to show up to the venue no later than 3:30pm. I got there around then and waited in a big line outside in the cold. We weren't told anything and we're finally let into the venue at 5:15pm. I am not sure why we had to wait so long or were told to show up so early. That part was terrible. The concert itself was amazing. Rachel and her 2 opening acts, Christina and Eric, were phenomenal. I had an amazing time and would absolutely see a Rachel Platten show again.

    Left me Speechless!!

    by gatgirl09 on 3/15/16Royale Boston - Boston

This was my third time seeing Rachel Platten in concert. Each time it gets better and better! She put on the best performance yet, even with vocal rest in order. She still killed it. Her emotions are real and they are felt in every word of every song. She's real and you can feel it. Also, she really does give the best hugs and meet and greets were not rushed!

    Rachel was amazing!

by 923foxy on 3/14/16Irving Plaza - New York

I was so impressed by Rachel Platten's performance. She was so upbeat and put so much emotion into her songs. She encouraged the audience to sing with her, and then without the background music, to her fabulous song "The Fight Song", which she performed at the end of the show. She kept thanking the audience for coming to see her and told us how amazed she was playing to a sold out crowd in her home town, which she always dreamed of doing. She spoke to the audience throughout her show. Andy Grammar showed up unexpectedly, for us, and sang with her. It was such a fun show, well worth standing for as long as we did. Rachel is not only a beautiful looking woman on the outside, but is beautiful on the inside too. She has a good heart. She also has great moves and is so energetic. Loved, loved her concert in every way!

    Great Experience

by ElephantsToothpaste on 3/14/16Irving Plaza - New York

I broke my foot a week or two ago and was kind of nervous standing in the pit here. I've been here a few times before. One of the ushers saw I was limping and they escorted me to this handicap area upstairs. They were super accommodating and I was astonished. I was able to sit and rest my foot and still enjoy the concert. When Rachel Platten went on, I decided to venture on down to the rear of the crowd where my foot was a little safer. The PA system here is awesome. I was still able to hear her really well even in the back. Overall the performance was amazing. She covered Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child" which was so amazing to hear it like that. It sort of made the performance for me at least.

    VIP Experience

by NJP5 on 3/13/16Irving Plaza - New York

Received an email that we HAD to arrive by 4:30pm. Any later than that and we may not be allowed in. We waited outside on the sidewalk from 4:15pm until 6:10pm when we were allowed in. We then had to wait over an hour until the concert began. Overall, it was a very nice experience, but we didn't appreciate having to wait outside for almost 2 hours for absolutely no reason. We were standing from 4:15pm until after 11pm when we were able to sit down on the train to go home.

    Awesome Show from Rachel

by Ralfie on 3/5/16Center Stage Theater - Atlanta

Rachel gave a great show. She is quite the entertainer and connects well with the audience. Although we had just seen her do three sets just two weeks ago, her show still appeared fresh. She is very genuine and treats her fans well. The show is fun as she encourages sing-a-long on several songs.
