Fans of Disney Channel's film “Teen Beach Movie” and TV series “Austin & Ally” may find a familiar face in Ross Lynch. Although Lynch’s acting career has raised R5’s profile considerably, this young group has been at it since 2009 and signed to Hollywood Records in April 2012. R5 consists of four siblings originally from Littleton, Colo., Ross Lynch (lead vocals/guitar), brothers Rocky Lynch (guitar/vocals) and Riker Lynch (bass/vocals), sister Rydel Lynch (keyboards/vocals), and best friend Ellington Ratliff (drums) who they met at a dance studio after relocating to Los Angeles. R5’s sound is fun and energetic with infectious pop beats and catchy melodies -- or as R5 promotes, the type of music you blast with the top down on a warm summer night. Their debut studio album Louder charted at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 2 on iTunes Pop chart in September 2013. The 11-track album includes the popular four tracks from their previous Loud EP as well as the lead single “Pass Me By.” Quickly becoming a Radio Disney favorite, fans have secured tickets to R5’s Dancing Out My Pants Tour and concertgoers are rewarded with exuberant pop performances. R5 will embark on their R5 Rocks the World Tour in 2014.
Great show. Amazing energy. My daughter loved seeing Ross and other band members. I would take my daughter to another R5 concert in a heartbeat. Family friendly.
The concert was great. I enjoyed Ryland's set and the opening act Max. R5 was awesome. It was a great experience and it was my first concert ever so even better.
My 12 year old daughter had the time of her life. She said it was the best day EVER!!!. She met the band and took pictures with them and we also did the sound check. The concert itself was also AMAZING. Seeing R5 on stage right in front of you is something my girl will never forget. Seeing them in person makes you realize how very talented they all are. The meet and greet was definitely something we will do again. The concert was so worth it.
The show was great! Age appropriate for my daughter. I thought the R5 merchandise was reasonably priced.
My girls' 1st concert. Ages 13 and 9. Loud but so fun! DJ Ryland was great! Max was...interesting. Ross was awesome. It was all we expected and more!
This is my 3rd time seeing R5 in concert and they were FANTASTIC! I enjoyed this concert more than the last two even because the State Theater has seats, and the Varsity does not. I am so happy that I got to attend, I do wish the sound check line was a little more organized, as the security guards were not completely sure where we were supposed to be so they couldn't sufficiently help us. I love the venue because there are restaurants in the same area as well and it's really easy to go get some food and come back in a timely manner too.
We had seen R5 when they played at the MN State Fair this past summer and that show was so much fun that we had to go again when they were at the State Theatre in Minneapolis on March 11. The show was even better this time around. Ryland was first and had so much energy. He really inspired the crowd. Max was on next. I had not heard of him before, but he was an amazing performer. He has a great stage presence, awesome singing voice and he is an excellent dancer. R5 was excellent as the main act. Their music is outstanding and they appreciate their fans immensely. I like that they are aware that their audience consists of younger kids to adults. Overall, it was a great night to be at a concert with my family, hear outstanding performances and feel uplifted afterwards because of the great music!
Best show I have ever seen! Sound quality, lights, energy of the band, absolutely amazing!!
This was my second time going to one of their shows and I was not disappointed! They sang a wide variety of their songs. Some old ones and some new ones. I really dig their vibe and love their stage presence. I had such a good time at the show that I went home and bought tickets for their show in Des Moines that was the next day. I would highly recommend going to see them if you got the chance. Also their brother Ryland that is their opening DJ gets 5 stars for getting the party started! I'm looking forward to the next time they come around
My husband and I got our 7 year old daughter, who is a huge fan, tickets for her birthday! She loved it! And we did too. It was an awesome show! We will definitely be seeing them again.
This was my first time seeing R5. They were more amazing live than I had expected.
Took my granddaughter for her birthday. She thought it was fantastic!! I didn't know what to expect but after the show I told her it was a very good show.
I love R5!! Can't wait till they come back to Chicago!!
All performance was Unforgettable and Especially when R5 came out !!!! The view was awesome were was sitting Down and I had great time.
I attended the show with my 13yr old daughter. She is a huge R5 fan! We both thought that Ryland's act was great! He had a ton of energy and really engaged the crowd. We thought that he had more.connection with the crowd than the members of R5. They showed little emotion and seemed robotic. Ross didn't even look at people when he handed out guitar picks. He just dropped them on people's heads. Rydel looked annoyed that she was forced to toss things into the crowd. R5 sounded great, just wish they would have connected better with the audience. We both HATED the act by Max. He looked and acted like a strung out grunge rocker left over from the 1980s. His songs about posing for your mug shot and doing what you know is wrong seemed out of sync with R5's image. If we go to another R5 show we will arrive an hour and a half late to avoid his act. We give Ryland 5/5 stars, R5 4/5 stars, and Max 0/5 stars.
This band puts on the best show I've ever seen. They're engaging with the crowd and no matter where you're sitting in the venue, they make you feel special. I wish I could go to 1000 r5 concerts just because of how fun they are and how great you feel during and once it's over. It's been three days since mine and I'm still thinking about it and telling everyone I know. Definitely recommend seeing them one day if you can!! :)
Had a great time at the R5 concert. They always mix it up...some old mixed in with their new stuff! Love how they each are featured during the show!
This concert started at 7pm but after 1/2 hour of. DJ and then 1 hour of another performer, the kids and I were tired of waiting and pretty exhausted by the time R5 actually performed 1.5 hours later!!! I have never been to a concert where I had to wait 1.5 hours before actually seeing the performance I paid to watch. We ended up leaving the R5 concert 45 minutes after R5 came on. Also I do not feel there was enough interaction with the audience.
We bought 22 tickets for 7 moms to bring 15 Austin Moon fans to the concert . The age range for th girls was 5-9 . Everyone was super excited . When ticket master sent us the reminder and added to our phone calendar the event time was 7:00-8:30 we unfortunately assumed that was the whole show . R5 which is who we were there to see didn't go on till 8:30 and played till 10:00 . We had to leave at 9:15. Some of the girls were falling asleep . There were too many opening acts .
IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! I CANT WAIT UNTIL NEXT TOUR, it was honestly the best night of my life and i couldn't hear or talk after but it's okay, I mean if you were to have a choice between this and another band, go with R5 they were amazing!
