    Not great, poor sound

by Stacy on 4/9/23Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

Sound wasn't good. The instruments were often louder than the singers, and when the larger woman was singing more softly I couldn't hear her so either her diction was terrible or the sound was off. Also, it wasn't a very polished performance. The two dancers were rarely in sinc. Wouldn't recommend this show.

    Lots of fun

by Ginger on 4/9/23Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

We enjoyed the show. Awesome singers and dancers. Learned Aretha’s history, sang, and danced. Everyone came out smiling.

    Complete disappointment

by RD on 4/9/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Sound was distorted and garbled, lead vocalist mumbled words and did not begin to have the rich depth of voice as Aretha, other two hosts were good just unfortunate they had to carry out such a simplistic set that was equivalent to a middle school production, the video playing at times was blurry not sure what we were seeing and then toward the end of the video before intermission was clearly intended to make a political statement. We left at intermission very disappointed.

    Fun show!

by Pepper on 4/8/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

It was fun to learn more about the Queen of Soul. The singers were phenomenal! I’d recommend this show to anything who liked Aretha.

    The show was wonderful.

by Golden Girl on 4/8/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The cast members could really sing, beautiful voices. I love the way they told the story of Areatha. I didn’t know what to expect so I was quite pleased. Amazing band as well.

    Just okay

by AuntieM on 4/8/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

I was disappointed. It was okay. The costumes (one change) were okay. Two of the cast members were very good, but one was not as good. I did not feel like I was at a Broadway show. It is the first time I have been disappointed in Broadway Across America. I’d hoped it would be comparable to “Beautiful,” but sadly, it was not.

    I was so disappointed

by Pj on 4/8/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The hosts were insults to the Queen of Soul. The hosts could not sing very well and they could not perform at a professional range or octave . They should not be allowed to travel under the theme of R E S P EC T as it was disrespectful to the performers they portrayed. I feel as though it was fraudulent for me to pay for such a substandard show

The musical was great! The sound system was horrible.

by Nay on 4/8/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The cast and storyline was great! The sound system at the BJCC Concert Hall is horrible! The mics were muffled which took away some of the enjoyment of the night.

Complete Disappointment - Left at Intermission

    by R. D. on 4/6/23

Sound was garbled, lead vocalist mumbled most of the words and did not begin to have the depth of voice as Aretha, obscure songs that lasted too long, black and white videos playing in the background for the most part were not clear and mainly there to make a political statement. Maybe the show after intermission redeemed itself, but my husband and I could take no more. I do not feel in any way this was a tribute to the wonderful music and life of Aretha Franklin. I had hoped for an uplifting evening filled with great music, instead left sad and disappointed. If could have, I would have asked for a refund.

    All star performances.

by Ila on 4/2/23Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

The music was wonderful. The band was awesome. The stage could have been a little more glitzy, and a few more songs from Aretha that the entire audience would know. The history given was beyond great.

Disappointing….. didn’t care for the loud screeching….. didn’t care for the change in the rendition of songs. High ticket price…. Not worth it!!

    Missed full instrumentation

by Don Music on 4/1/23Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

The songs were great, the voices were s as maxing but…. Their band consisted of a guitar, a bass, drums and keyboards. Where were the horns? No trumpet? No saxophones? It could have been so amazing, but it appears that saving money is more important to the producer.

    RESPECT

    by K. D. on 4/1/23Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

My husband and I were excited to see this show because of the music. Unfortunately we did not enjoy the show. Most of the music sounded like they were screeching and you could not understand the words. We did like the dialogue explaining Aretha's life. If the song RESPECT had been played in the first half, we would have left at intermission. We were so disappointed.

More history than songs of Aretha Franklin. Felt more like a cruise ship entertainment show than concert.

    Not that good

by Play goer on 3/28/23Capital One Hall - Tysons

It was kind lacking the show style of plays like "Tina". The images on the screen were not of Aretha just some random footage. The dresses in the beginning were too short and second act the one lady had problems with her pants falling down. Singing was good but I thought it would have been better if one person sang the song instead of chopping it up among all the singer. Would not recommend to others.

A really great show from beginning to end

by Tiffany S on 3/27/23Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - Baltimore

Every part of the show was enjoyable and entertaining. The music selections were amazing and the performers voices were out of this world. The energy and the talent displayed kept your focus and my mom usually falls asleep on any show, stayed up the entire time. Great job to all that were involved in this production!!

    Excellent Show

by Tiffany on 3/26/23Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - Baltimore

The performers were amazing. The show was enjoyable, entertaining and at some points during the show, the performers invited us to join them to sing our favorite Aretha Franklin songs. I can't rave enough about this show. I'm so glad my friend and I got tickets. Excellent Show!
