QUIET RIOT IN CONCERT:

Quiet Riot holds the distinct honor of being the first metal band to top the Billboard 200, a feat they accomplished back in 1983 with their seminal breakthrough album Metal Health. Since then, they've lived up to their name, enjoying one of the longest-running careers in the genre and continuing to sell out shows with their hair-raising onstage energy.  With the recently anointed Jizzy Pearl on vocals and a new album due out in 2014, Quiet Riot will be bringing the thunder on their upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in 1973 by legendary metal guitarist Randy Rhoads, Quiet Riot built a huge regional following in their hometown of Los Angeles in the mid-‘70s. Rhoads' departure in 1979 to join Ozzy Osbourne's band effectively ended the group, but following his death in a plane crash in 1982, the members returned to the studio to pay tribute to the late guitarist. The result was their 1983 American debut full-length Metal Health, the first metal album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 thanks to hit singles "Cum on Feel the Noize" and "Bang Your Head (Metal Health)."  As pioneers of metal's popularity in the mainstream, the band has spent the last three decades recording and touring, earning a reputation for their tireless dedication and riotous live shows.

  • Rudy was awesome

It’s been years since I’ve seen Quiet Riot and Rudy Sarzo was the only original this show, but it’s definitely still worth the watch. He’s still amazing and Jizzy Pearl is always fun to watch in quiet riot or love/hate. The venue at Cannery Row is great too.

This was a tough choice as Iron Maiden was in town the same evening. Had an invite to go with them and chose Riot instead. Based on feedback gotten I'm glad I did. Vocalist was spot on and the show was far more intimate than the Michelob Ultra Arena at MGM. Main thing to consider here is that the M does these shows infrequently and the sound system given the size of the venue is better than the one at the larger arena that obviously isn't as well maintained. Band sounded awesome and looked good doing what they do. The only downer and this isn't on the band at all is that it was clear that some of the tickets were comped to people staying at the M, and a good number of them were also comped through local seat services. My entire row and a good section of the next in front of me vacated before the show was half over. If you weren't up front you were surrounded by super casual fans. Great show, would see the band again and would definitely see a show at this venue again regardless of the crowd.

The band was great and Sarzo still rocks for a 73 year old but the venue at the M sucked being a flat floor Quonset hut out back… they need a proper concert hall!!

  • The band was great, sound was ok

by RR on 9/10/24Legends Casino Event Center - ToppenishRating: 3 out of 5

Quiet Riot played all the songs great and were entertaining to watch. The venue is really nice and not a bad seat in the place. The sound wasn't that great. It took 3-4 songs before the guitar was able to be heard or distinguish any notes he was playing. The drums lacked the entire show. Definitely could barely hear the kick drum, hi hat or cymbals. I could really only hear the snare drum. there were many other people saying the same thing in my area and we were sitting very close to the mixer board section. The drum sound was disappointing, but I did still enjoy the show. Lots of great songs!
