QUEENSRYCHE IN CONCERT:

For more than three decades, progressive metal veterans Queensryche have been pushing the genre’s boundaries with their ambitious sound and electrifying performances on tour. At their staggering live shows the band takes the stage in all black, delivering powerful rock anthems like “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman” beneath a giant banner bearing their signature peregrine falcon-likeTri-Ryche logo. Former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche in 2012 and the band hasn’t missed a beat since, thrilling fans with extensive touring tirelessly and a return to the studio in 2015. Whether they’re rocking out to early favorites or playing cuts from their self-titled 2013 album, Queensryche always treats ticket buyers to an unforgettable concert experience full of potent tunes, virtuosic musicianship, and classic metal showmanship.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Queensryche formed in Bellevue, WA in 1982 from the ashes of local band The Mob. They received an early break when UK rock mag Kerrang! got wind of their demos and wrote a glowing review. The growing buzz in both the UK and the US led to impressive sales for their 1983 debut EP, and the following year the band released their debut album The Warning to a spot on the Billboard 200. Following a tour with Kiss the band released their 1986 sophomore album Rage for Order, a gold-certified outing that showcased a more polished rock sound. The band reached the pinnacle of their success in 1990 with the album Empire, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the Top 10 rock hits “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman”. Since then Queensryche has weathered numerous lineup changes while continuing to release records and tour with metal mainstays like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. In 2012 former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche, and he continues to helm the band as they bring their distinctive brand of metal-infused power balladry to fans around the world on tour.

    Queensryche was absolutely amazing

by BrianH35 on 7/13/09House of Blues Houston - Houston

Geoff and the group was absolutely amazing in their show. Geoff's ability to still belt out those tunes like it was still back in the 80's just blows me away. The rest of the band was amazingly tight. I cannot say enough about that show and about the band. Queensryche has always been a favorite of mine and they keep proving it to me time and time again.

    Queensryche Rocked!!!!

by Vraxx7 on 7/13/09House of Blues Houston - Houston

The House of Blues was the perfect cozy, up close venue for such a great band. Queensryche has always been about making the fans feel special and close together with thier unique brand of rock. I was greatly impressed with the bands stage presence. They were truly larger than life, yet, they felt so accessible like normal people. I've been to many shows and very few have really impressed me. The music was just as beautiful as the albums and Geoff's vocals were even more powerful in person. My friends and I left the show very happy and awestruck. I'd recommend this show to anyone even if you aren't a huge fan, I don't see how you couldn't enjoy it. I really liked the fact that the fans were very mature and polite. We were all crowded and squished together, but everyone tried to accomadate others. I think it's great to go to a hard rock show and not have to worry about mosh pits and people acting like total morons. It really speaks to the type of message that Queensryche tries to send thier fans while still hitting you in the face with killer guitar riffs and heavy basslines. All in all, a great show, a great venue, great fans and a great great band.

    Saxophones

by LizardPeople on 7/13/09House of Blues Houston - Houston

The band played songs nobody liked, their $30 t-shirt is printed crooked and doesn't fit, beers were seven dollars and parking was expensive. And Geoff Tate dressed like Morpheus and had a saxophone,

by JetCityWoman on 7/13/09House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

a musically delicious delight as always. 20+ years has not dulled this enduring group. The evening was highlighted with the duet of father and daughter..two voices complimenting one another beautifully. The intimate venue only adds to the ambiance of the evening by adding a feeling that they are playing just for you and friends. It was a memorable evening and I look forward to thier return.

Queensryche at House of Blues was great!

by H1976 on 7/13/09House of Blues Houston - Houston

House of Blues was the ultimate venue for the Queensryche concert. You felt like you were right there with the band. Queensryche put on a great show with lots of great music...and some new stuff I hadn't heard before. But you might be disappointed if you want to hear any of the Operation Mindcrime album...they didn't play any of those songs. Geoff is such an amazing singer and the rest of the band rocks! Definitely a must see if you are a Queensryche fan and have the chance.

    Not Impressed!

by MaryRod on 7/13/09House of Blues Houston - Houston

While I understand Queensryche had a new album to promote it was way to much of a downer and to play the album from beginning to end, they really should have mixed it up some with other familiar tunes. Also, they did not play ANY songs of Operation Mindcrime!! How can you not play anything off of your signature album?? Very disappointed!

    Queensryche at REH

by MindcrimeFan on 7/13/09Ruth Eckerd Hall - Clearwater

The Queensryche show at Ruth Eckerd Hall was great as usual. I love that venue and I'm happy they almost always play there when they come to town. They did a triple threat set starting with songs from Rage For Order then American Soldier and finally Empire. The show was also aired over the internet live which I wish more groups would do. Parker Lundgren replaced Mike Stone and did a fine job. Mike is a cool guy and a great guitarist and will be missed.
