Too bad you couldn't hear much of the QCSO!
by dells on 7/13/09Adler Theatre - DavenportLooked forward to the evening but all in our group were disappointed; Adler acoustics do not seem to be that great unless you are on the main floor in front of the overhang or in the first couple rows of the balcony. Lights were interesting and well-sync'ed with the music, but where we were sitting it was painfully blinding during much of certain songs. Music was so over-amped/mic'ed overall that even though the main group was quite talented, they were way too loud in general, and our own symphony players could hardly be heard at all...granted, probably much of that also had to do with Led Zeppelin's style as opposed to how the Eagle's concert may be. QCSO is impressive - very much improved, and quite exciting under the new conductor - hope he stays for a long time! It is just too bad we didn't hear as much QCSO as we expected to (such as at Moody Blues/QCSO in the Mark/i-wireless years ago...)
