Love love loved this show! The lyrics and music were beautiful. The talent and voices of the actors was top notch. We laughed and we cried. Perfect blend of the movie plus stage. I will 100% see this show again!
Me and my wife was very excited to go we bought our tickets months ago. Then boston put the vaccine mandate into a effect not thrilled but still wanting to go me and my wife got the shot on wed... we show up friday i spent roughly 550 dollars on the tickets and parking.. we where turned away because we are not fully vaccinated and ticket master nor the even will refound us or give us or give us tickets to a later show... im pretty upset and my wife who never get a chance to dress up is extremely upset... since i work 75 hrs a week to make ends meet.....i took the night off to go with her because its what she wanted as a Christmas gift.. its not right...
Feel like they left out important parts. Guy who played Edward didn't seem like he was into vivian. It was just ok
The musical let me relive the movie again. The "Happy Man" stole the show. The scenery, dancing and singing was wonderful. I only wished that "Vivian" wore the brown polka dot dress and the matching hat at the Polo match. The blue polka dot was not the same. But there was so much fun and funny scenes, the bell hop and hotel manager. I liked the smooth transition of the scenery. I had great seats in the orchestra center. The opera House was the right venue to present this musical. Thank you!!
Great show, music was good and the performers were excellent. With COVID around, I think this was a success. Aside from the show, having to wear a mask during the entire performance was uncomfortable, but it was note the responsiblity of the show. GREAT JOB, thank you.
We enjoyed everything about this play. The singing and acting was superb. The crowd was on their feet at the end. We would see it again!!
This was an amazing show. A wonderful time spent with my wife. The performers were wonderful very professional. We thoroughly enjoyed it and we can’t wait to watch the movie again
The show was incredible. But even more incredible - I proposed to my girlfriend in the front row just before the show started. When she said yes, the entire opera house cheered and clapped. It will definitely be a night neither of us will ever forget.
Great show we had an excellent time highly recommended
The casting was awful. Kit and Vivian should have been reversed. The music was worse. Random ballads stuck in between iconic scenes. Stay home and watch the movie.
This was so disappointing. We knew that it wasn’t going to be the same as the movie but we didn’t expect it to be so cheesy. Vivian was so goofy & Edward seemed like a lovesick puppy. The actors weren’t great but I think it was writing that was so horrible.
First time back to Rochester for a while. GREAT performance, but they need a new performing arts center! Period. Skinny seats, steep aisles, limited accessibility, only "acceptable" acoustics. I am not saying we will never be back, but the building's deficits will certainly come into play in our decision - especially taking into account the it is in downtown Rochester. There was also a big event at the Armory across the street that was packed - little to no police presence in a violent crime area?
I recently moved to the Rochester area from NYC. I would see Broadway and Off Broadway shows all the time. I really didn’t have high hopes or expectations and thought nothing could compare to Broadway. I must say, this performance was just as good, if not better! The music, dancing and acting were superb! I gave it a standing ovation and recommended it to all my friends! I can’t wait to see many more shows in Rochester!
Im glad we went. It was nice to get out and have some normalcy in these covid years. I did not enjoy this production. It was just "ok". As the performance started, i was thinking there was something wrong with the sound. It was not full sounding. The voices of the male and female leads did not appeal to me. It could very well be they didn't have anything to work with. Not one memorable song in this performance. Would i go see it again? No. Would i recommend to a friend? No.
I loved every second of it. I know once Adam Pascal started singing I was gonna love it 🥰
Theater seats were comfortable and we could see the play well. I enjoyed the dance scenes. The female lead was good. The male lead was not that believable. The final scene did not come across very good. I would think there was so much more that could have been done with it. I guess my main problem is that I feel the movie was so much better.
As a big fan of the movie, this was so much fun. Big production with big sound and dance. What a musical should be!
Great seats, comfortable, great show. Overall wonderful experience!
Well done. Not easy to turn such a classic film into a musical. Recommending to all my friends.
