    An immigrant speaking

by Jokel on 5/14/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

I immigrated from Germany in 1953. I have heard the Preservation Hall Jazz Band before, the last time at Disney Hall. Every time I strongly felt that being in the presence of this lovely band was worth coming to America.

    Happy Face

by Anonymous on 5/14/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

You can't be around Dixieland music and not have a happy face. I had a smile on my face all night long.

A Good Time was had by All

by CarrieOnVacation on 1/6/11Symphony Hall Atlanta - Atlanta

The performance wasn't as "Creole" or as "Christmas" as I expected, but I had a great time anyway.

    PHJB Entertained

by XTHDSA on 12/23/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - Atlanta

At first we were disappointed when we realized that they would not be playing a Christmas concert (the title was Creole Christmas), but their performance won us over. We especially enjoyed the end of the concert, where they got the audience to directly participate.

    Preservation Hall Jazz Band

by webbed124 on 12/22/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - Atlanta

What an awesome concert! Each member was fantastic on their own and as a group they were outstanding. Everyone was comfortable in front of the audience and most even threw in some humor along the way. I can't recommend these guys enough. They are a MUST SEE!

    Great show

by cshell076 on 12/22/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - Atlanta

Fabulous performance. The second line was great. Wish they had played more Christmas songs, the few they did do were exceptional.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band was engaging!

by GreenHat on 12/21/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - Atlanta

I was expecting a better performance at this event, but I did enjoy the interaction of the musicians with the audience and the "easy" style of the band.

    Incredible. Absolutely incredible.

Incredible musicians, voices and spirit. Inimitably U.S., New Orleans and amazing embrace-the-audience performers. A totally memorable and giving performance. Awesome.

    What a fun show

by bobdaddy on 12/21/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - Atlanta

This was an old time New Orleans street party packed into Symphony Hall. Good old fashioned jazz with a little Christmas flair tossed in. I look forward to the next time this group is back in town.

    Always a blast

by BBEITZEL on 12/21/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - Atlanta

To see this group, whatever version possible, is a must for all fans of jazz, music, the South or fun. On the road, the symphony hall feels big for this ensemble, but they can fill any size room with their sound and energy.

    Musical perfection

by NOJazzLover on 7/11/10Irvine Barclay Theatre - Irvine

If you want to hear music the way it was intended to be heard, no synthesizers, no electric guitars, no beat machine; and very few cords, just plain uplifting music that makes you want to get up and dance, then listen to the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Excellent musicians, a great cause, and down south hospitality.

by Bob228 on 12/24/09Walt Disney Concert Hall - Los Angeles

Great musicians in this legendary Band did not disappoint their storied history. They had a great time playing and the audience loved the music, the Disney Hall and their inclusion in the show.

    Preservation Hall--A Musical Experience

by Bobbie1962 on 10/9/09Saenger Theatre Mobile - Mobile

We spent our 21st anniversary with Preservation Hall at the Saenger in Mobile. It was undeniably the best musical event I have ever been to. We have enjoyed them in New Orleans as well. I hope they come back to Mobile often. It was one of the best nights of my life, absolutely. It was like seeing living musical history. To make the evening more wonderful was to see them on stage with Roman Street and Tonic Strings--PERFECTION! Thank you for a wonderful and unforgettable anniversary experience!

    Absolutely wonderful!

by aehtorod on 7/13/09Irvine Barclay Theatre - Irvine

Very best part was When the Saints - with all the band and a chunk of the crowd dancing around the theater. But, it was all lovely.
