    BAD

by Anonymous on 6/12/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

The in-field fest at the 137th Preakness was unbelievably poorly planned and run. 1. They ran out of mugs for the mug club (?!?!?), that is a joke. 2. Lines for beer refills where honestly 30min. Tents where understaffed and staff was unhelpful and unfriendly. 3. They ran out of beer (?!?!) This was simply the most poorly coordinated event I have ever attended ever anywhere.

    Maroon 5 was awesome

by AEG81 on 6/12/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

Maroon 5 performed an awesome concert. There were way to many people there though and a lot of shoving and not being able to see. Otherwise, awesome

    Who ordered the beer?

by lwix on 6/12/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

Preakness 2012 was a huge disappointment. Last year we had blast; there was plenty to do and plenty of beer refills. This year it was way too crowded, the beer lines were insanely long, and there seemed to be fewer tents/attractions to see. I think part of it had to do with Maroon 5 and Wiz Khalifa performing. I'll admit, they were good, but they brought in the obnoxious crowds with them. We bought the mug club ticket which was an extra $20 for "all you can drink". More like, if you literally stood in line and then got back in line as soon as you got a beer, then maybe you could have scored 7 refills. Not cool for an +8hr day. Lose the high budget acts and get back to making it about day drinking and horse racing.

    Infield Completely Oversold

by CrazyKyle on 6/12/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

In the past I have enjoyed the infield festivities. This year it was completely oversold. It took HOURS to get my mug club and HOURS to then get it filled. So many people I could not even see the stage nevermind hear the music. Have been to other Preakness events in the past this was a big diappointment.

    Operation Infield Strike

by TrBeauxK on 6/12/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

The event organization was exceptional. We were processed in to the event area very quickly with no hassle. Entertainment ran continually was races took place so whether you were there to bet or listen, it was a quality event. Something for everybody.

You would think after 137 years.....

by SErinS on 6/12/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

For starters.... Parking is a JOKE... Neighbors ripping you off- lots are clearly not marked for public use, and traffic is a total MESS... And how are you going to give patrons bottomless mugs of beer and tell them to "drink responsibly" and not have enough water or food for them to sober up?!? I was very disappointed.

    Great Concerts and Great Atmosphere

by r55ruckus on 6/12/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

Loved the Concerts and Loved the little events they had going on here and there. Only thing I didnt like was the Line for the Mug Club, I thought the line was very disorganized, people were able to cut the line very easily, This definitely needs to change! I waited well over an hour just to get a Mug which I thought was a Ridiculous amount of time and I ended up missing a performance due to this. Other than that the concerts and overall experience was great!

    Awesome!!!!!

by HIS2 on 6/11/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

In the begining, the mug line was quite long. Once you got your cup, the refill lines were short. After that, it was worth the wait. it was a little too hot,but nothing I couldn't handle. Over all we had a fun filled day. Music was good, prefer a bigger selection of beer for the mug club (dark beer)

Mug club lines were unacceptable - both for mug pick-up and the kegs. Extremely dissatisfied with the organization of the mug club program. Waited 2 hrs in a line that wasn't moving in order to pick up my mug, only to find that no one was monitoring the front of the line and that a ridiculous number of people were cutting straight to the front. would not participate again.

    Mug club was terrible

by Kegasussucks on 6/11/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

This is my third year in a row at Preakness and this years mug club didnt work at all. The lines to get beer and to get your mug were ridiculous. They needed more concessions set up in general. But the biggest thing they needed was more beer tents so the lines didnt get so crowded and you could fill your mug up cause at the end of the day that's what you pay for, to have an endless supply of beer at your desposal.

    Full Package

by LeMac1234 on 6/11/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

Preakness was awesome. People complained about the pricing, but think about it...$80 got you awesome bands, all you can drink beer, loads of activities, and oh yeah, horse races all day! Disclaimer: I love Wiz, Maroon 5, drinking, and betting so this may be biased. Wiz was sick. He was so great live and played everything the crowd wanted to hear. Maroon 5 did not disappoint either and everyone loved when they performed their new single with Wiz. Besides Wiz and Maroon 5 (which were half the reason I went and together alone worth way more than the Preakness ticket), the other bands were a good mix so everyone had something to their liking. Food was awesome too, reasonably priced unlike other events. $5 for burger (restaurant size, not some fast food chain size) and fries. It was delicious. There was a ton of events happening as well. I never had to wait in a long line to fill up my cup with beer and the weather was beautiful.... And the horse betting made the day complete. Only bad things I can think of: a lot people had to wait in a huge line to get in if they did not get there before 11am. They did not have enough people at the gates checking everyone's tickets. Also, something other than Bud light would have been nice.... Nearly forgot....the stealth bomber fly over to open the day was such a cool site. America is #1.

    Loved the jäger stage!

by Laurei on 6/11/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

Personally I found the acts on the jäger stage more entertaining. I didn't feel that the main stage was in a very good location and while maroon5 is one of my all time favorites, I found that I couldn't enjoy the concert as much due to the extremely packed conditions and constantly having to let people navigate around us. I think the main stage should have been where the jäger stage was. Other than that, it was amazing! I'll be back next year for sure :)

Maroon 5 and Wiz Khalifa were excellent. Having performances at the event made it that much memorable. If possible, more than one kind of beer for next year would be great.

    I was expecting more

by Fsunanda on 6/11/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

I was expcting something a little more organized. I was not expecting the amount of trash littered about. I would not go back!

Preakness was great. I loved the infield set up although I would recommend a misting tent at the next Preakness. It was really hot out and no where to cool off, although that did not effect the overall experience.

    I wouldn't go again

by Wassel on 6/11/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

I had very high hopes going into this event but ended up being severely let down. Poorly organized from the entrance where you walk in with your ticket to where mug club members get their cups. Process was very slow and took over 2 hours to get a mug because they had run out. Mug club was completely not worth the hassel of waiting in the extremely long lines. In my opinion tickets were oversold and they crammed as many people as possible into the infield. I will not go again.

    Volleyball fan

by SecondTimer1 on 6/11/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

The volleyball play was awesome. Go Phil and Todd!! You must do something abou the long wait to get mug upon arrival at 11:00AM there were huge lines at the checkin at the infield. THese should be at the gates as they were in 2011!

    Mediocre experience at best

by Stavvy on 6/11/12Pimlico Race Course - Baltimore

What did I dislike more, the 20-30 minute all you can drink beer lines? Wiz Khalifa's constant references to someone having the best weed in the audience? Or the fact that they crammed so many people into the infield that I never once felt that I had enough personal space. How about every third port-a-john having hand sanitizer? Being constantly run into by people because of overpopulating the area takes the cake of my least favorite part of the event, but the rest of them are all a close second. How do I know it was overcrowded? They had to give out old mug club glasses instead of this years. Unless they find a better way to handle the droves of people - IE - Beer, Bathrooms and Ticket sales, I won't be coming back. All in all, the music was good. Maroon 5 had a good showing. But in general, very poor experience.
