Preacher Lawson on Tour
Exuberant and hilarious, Preacher Lawson is the kind of performer whose energy cannot be contained by any stage, and that includes America's Got Talent. In 2017, television's most popular talent contest transformed Lawson into comedy's next superstar, introducing him to the wider audience he's deserved since he first began making fans in his hometowns of Memphis and Orlando.
Lawson's reputation is based on his smartly crafted material, unabashedly physical sense of humor, and flair for impressions (his high-spirited pastor character is vivid proof of that). He continues to make the same impact on audiences that he did on viewers and judges when he was a Top Ten finalist for America's Got Talent Season 12. He also finished fifth when he returned for America's Got Talent: The Champions in early 2019.
Audiences can catch Lawson in clubs and theaters across the U.S. and Canada.
Preacher Lawson Background
Even in the brief audition that was the first step toward his breakout on America's Got Talent, Preacher Lawson's comedy skills were readily apparent to TV's most famous judges. "Preacher, can I get just one more joke?" asked a new fan by the name of Simon Cowell, who also called him "unbelievably talented." Comedy legend Howie Mandel was quick to agree.
Lawson's TV breakout was a welcome achievement for a comedian who's been working hard to perfect his craft ever since he made his performance debut at the age of 17 at an open mic night at the University of Memphis in Tennessee. After establishing himself in Orlando's comedy scene, he won the Funniest Comedian in Florida in 2015 before earning top honors in the Seattle International Comedy Competition the following year.
Now based in Los Angeles, Lawson continues to tour nationwide while adding to a list of high-profile TV appearances that includes Last Call with Carson Daly, Inside Joke with Asif Ali, and Coming to the Stage, along with his star turns on America's Got Talent. Viewers also can see Lawson put his unique spin on travel, cooking, and more on his YouTube channel, which now has nearly 250,000 subscribers.
Preacher was amazing. His show was just one big laugh. He also spent 2 hours after the show meeting, greeting and talking selfies with anyone who wanted one
Preacher was very good but the program started 25 minutes late and the opening act was awful. His mother was the second act and she was funny and Preacher was good but the late start with no apology or explanation was not very professional.
Such an amazingly funny comedian. Constant laughing so hard I was crying. Definitely see Preacher if you get the chance!!
We decided to go because we loved him when on AGT. His first opening act was not really funny at all, the second opening act was his mom, which was a little weird but she was funny at times. Preacher’s act was funny but not as good as I remembered him. It didn’t seem fluent, almost as if he was just making it up as he was going along at times. Overall, we had a pleasant evening but it could’ve been better. The venue was awesome-would go again.
Preacher is awesome. Him and his mother are great people. They are so funny. All of Preachers crazy movements and sporatic jokes are hilarious. GREAT show all around
Our show was originally scheduled for Feb 2022, but covid changed that plan. I am so glad we saw him in Boston. Great venue and excellent experience.
I honestly didn't think it was possible to laugh this hard. Preacher blew us away. I wish he came to WA every month 😄 we love you Preacher 🧡
A couple drunk hecklers consistently interrupted the show. Preacher’s talent for improv kept the show going and the audience engaged. It was a fabulous 2 hours! And Mama Lawson is incredible, too!
I loved the show. Rather annoyed with the people who talked and carried on during the show but I love that Preacher called a few of them out and told some to shut it. I didn't pay to hear them have conversations while the show was going on as I'm sure no one else did. In my opinion if someone wants to talk to friends, family, random people they should go outside of the venue
Loved Mama Lawson's acerbic jokes!!! She should always be on the venue! We loved Preacher when he was on America's Got Talent!!! It takes a lot to make me laugh, but he was able to do just that! At the casino, Preacher was also great. Unfortunately, there were some possibly inebriated female 'hecklers' in the audience who distracted Preacher. At first it was humorous, but quickly got annoying. He handled them with finesse, then other audience members somewhat distracted him as well. He spent a lot of time responding to them and not telling his jokes as we had hoped. There's not much he could have done to keep the audience from interrupting him without creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. He's very professional and funny!!! We would have enjoyed his show much more if there had been more respectful and less intrusive audience members. Overall, we would probably go to another of his shows.
I've been to a lot of comedy shows in my time (well over 50) and Preacher is the funniest I have ever seen. I have currently seen him 4 times now. Twice in Tacoma (Tacoma Comedy Club) once in Vegas (host of AGT tour) and now once at the Clearwater casino. This latest show was his best. He's super funny, yet humble, and still does meet & greet with pictures after the show. I wish only the best for Preacher going forward, and I hope everyone gets out and sees him, because if you don't, YOU'RE MISSING OUT!!!!!
😭Car trouble. Had to call AAA. By the time it was fixed it was too late. We missed it. Was SOOO disappointed but my sister failed to get insurance for the tickets!😩
First comedy show definitely a memorable moment for sure. Loved every second! Been following preacher for awhile and got to see him live. Will definitely be back when he comes back to WA in the future!!!
I’ve never been to a live comedian before and this guy had me sweating and crying after just the first joke. Hilarious. (Also almost entirely clean comedy, no cussing or anything.) The casino was beautiful. Fast to get in, friendly staff. Overall perfect experience.
Took my 12-year old son and he loved it. After the show Preacher took the time to take photos with everyone. The venue was nice and clean, but had no signs on how to get to the performance area, so if you are a first timer to the casino you might feel like you are wandering. It’s a straight shot from any entrance though so you won’t wander for long.
Preacher Lawson was amazing and so funny. I loved how he interacted with the audience. We even realized he didn’t use one curse word.
This was my first time seeing a live comedy show and it could not have been better! I have followed Preacher's career since he was first on America's Got Talent several years ago. He is hilarious and such a nice guy! He stayed after the show to sign shirts, take selfies and talk with the audience. I even got a hug from him! Just an all around nice guy and a hilarious comedian!
Preacher was awesome as usual. I was pretty much laughing non-stop. Definitely a great entertainer and knows how to work the audience to get the most laughs.
Laughed the whole time! Preacher was a great entertainer!
Preacher and his brother were both very funny! I would definitely see him again!
