Powerhouse
Over the decades, the Powerhouse concerts have become an institution in hip-hop, put on by a radio station that's remained a mainstay of urban contemporary music for decades. WUSL 98.9, out of Philadelphia (better known to its huge audience as Power 99 FM) has sponsored the annual Powerhouse concerts since 1982. Fans know that every time autumn rolls around, they can expect an onstage onslaught of major players in the hip-hop game giving their all — and getting back a ton of love from the crowd.
Power 99 was joined by New York City station WWPR 105.1 (aka Power 105.1) when it became a go-to source for hip-hop and R&B in 2002. These days, the Powerhouse concerts are a two-pronged event with shows sponsored by both stations. Looking back over the history of the Powerhouse shows is a little bit like glancing back at the history of hip-hop itself. Year after year, the event has hosted the major artists of the moment, whether that meant featuring Xzibit, Ludacris and Ja Rule in 2001, showcasing Drake, Rick Ross and Trey Songz in 2011, or offering the likes of Cardi B, Lil Uzi Vert and G-Eazy in 2018.

I couldn't fully enjoy the show because people were smoking!
I went to the concert just to have something to do. I wasn't into the line up that much . I originally thought the line up was a random mix with a lot of performers. To my surprise, they meshed well. The only thing is that the order was a little out of wack but for the most part I had a great time and will def be attending next year. I am so happy that there is another outlet besides that old tired summer jam.
This was first Powerhouse event and it was crazy!! They didn't make you wait to start. N the changing between shows was really quick. You got your money's worth. N the artist were amazing. Meek Millz, Trey Songz, n Kendrick KILLED IT!!!
It was disorganized and you couldn't really hear the artists. Most of the acts were muffled. There were also commercials playing between the presentations. This is a concert and I think that this is a not an appropriate time to air commercials.
Nicki, Lil Kim, A$AP, 2 Chainz, Kendrick.. what more could you want?!
I had an amazing time with an amazing Man! I can not pick one artist who was better then the rest because they all were fantastic! The show started on time and ended extremly well.
The seats weren't that bad and I had an amazing time!
It was a great show still talking about it dats after thank you for the opportunity one of the greatest nights of my life
Overall the show was amazing. The only complaint I have is the concession stand prices .
105.1 did a good job, I think they need to find more entertainment such as prizes, games and other guess stars during breaks.... The breaks were long and even longer if the performer wasnt ready... BUTTTTTTTTTT it was still a good show and my Money was spent well to attend this concert!!!
The overall concert was great. The extra appearances from ASAP Rocky, Lil Kim, Jada Kiss and others were a great touch but in all it really felt rushed! I was seated fairly close to the stage so I was able to see individuals cutting the performances of Fabolous, 2Chainz (which he did his thing regardless of who tried to cut him off he TURNT UP) and even Trey Songz. If they were a bit more organized on time letting everyone finish they would have gotten the entire 5 STARS.
I may have not been up close in the floor seating area but I still had a great experience. Lots of energy and special appearances from Jadakiss, Nicki Minaj and the Queen B herself all in the same night....
