    Portlandi-A-TL

by theDudeATL on 2/25/12Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Fred and Carrie put on a great show! It is so amazing that they came all the way from Portland to ATL to connect with the fans. The crowd was really hyped and into the show. It was a great mix of music, video clips, Q and A and guest appearances from Jack McBrayer and Margret Cho. The only bummer were the inconsiderate people that were standing. You know who you are and you should be ashamed of yourselves!! SIT DOWN! Fred and Carrie ROCK!

25% of the show was clips we'll eventually see on the internet. 25% of the show was music that wasn't very good. 25% of the show was audience participation driven, unplanned and uninteresting. The leftovers were okay, but pretty lackluster. No skits. Just improv dialogue (not really full on comedy).

    Lots of laughs!

Clips from the show and improv on stage was very amusing and fun-local singer at the end could have definitely been left out as it didn't make any sense as to why she was on stage with them. If you are a fan of the show, definitely check it out!

"Hey look, we're famous people in your town!"

by DurhamBro on 2/24/12Carolina Theatre - Durham

The bottom line is that this wasn't a well-produced show. They charged a lot of money for what basically amounted to them showing up in my town. Awesome. There was very little prepared material, and far too much audience participation. I'm sorry, I didn't pay that much to hear my weird neighbors ask Carrie about her dog's participation in the show. Nor did I enjoy Fred and Carrie wasting 15 minutes by asking us to shout out our favorite coffee shop. Also, your funny songs aren't as funny without the visuals from the show. Also, don't show me clips from your show that I can see on TV.

Funny at times, confusing at others

by blanketbingo on 2/24/12Carolina Theatre - Durham

Short and sweet ... I went to this show with my wife because we love the TV show. The funniest parts of "the tour" were the clips, which I could have saved $36 a pop and just watched from home. The opening, the "slideshow," the Q&A from the audience ... it was all a little too relaxed, almost sloppy. I'm a fan of Fred Armisen, but he was too reserved. Carrie was awkward, and the final montage of songs with Eleanor were OK, but out of place and unsatisfying. The best part was for me and my wife was making fun of the hipsters in the audience, many of whom don't get that the show is roasting them. I'd never seen so many camping vests on an unseasonably warm night.

For diehard fans. The show was a little uneven, and I'm not convinced that Carrie and Fred were into it.
