This is my second time attending the Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions. It was basically identical to the first one, which was a bit of a downer, but the music was as top notch as ever. The Pittsburgh Orchestra did a fantastic job.
Even though I had been through the event before, it still digs up immense nostalgia to be brought through the games the way they did. However they managed to craft it in such a way to give you that similar feeling as if you were playing them, all crammed into minutes of time, was impressive. My second visit was definitely worth it.
The only thing I had hoped about the event was a little more diversity with the tracks. Pokemon is a large franchise that has a lot of music out there. This event focused entirely on the handheld games, which is the vast majority. I would have liked to have seen more from the anime or the various movies, or maybe even the new mobile game Go. They did do their traditional surprise at the end with the original anime introduction, which was nice, but I think there is far more potential left untapped. There is a lot of nostalgia from outside the handheld games too!
Also the excessive fees tacked on by TicketMaster are a real drag.
