Playboy Jazz Festival Tickets

This was my first Playboy Jazz Festival, and it will not be the last. Coming from vegas I found this event to be most relaxing. Everyone that I met had fun. The crowd were extremely nice to one another. Sharing of food and socializing with others was remarkeable. I was fascinated with the long history of this event. I left this event on a cloud. WOW!!!! The lighting and background for all the artists was eye catching. The bright lights created a classy setting and beautiful view from a far distance. The sounds were crystal clear as if the artist were performing in your living room with surround sound. 5 STARS ***** !!!

The start of the show was great, I loved the High School Jazz Band, Carlos from Cuba was really good and I really enjoy a few artist that I didn't even know.

Music was good, especially Dianne Reeves and Eddie Palmieri. Too many drunken people all over the place. Parking was expensive ($21) and inconvenient (stacked).

The Playboy is one of L.A.'s great musical/cultural evens. Great music, people and atmosphere. The people attending represent a real cross section of L.A. The people attending are friendly; everybody shares the food and drink they bring. The Hollywood Bowl sound system is fantastic. Not a bad seat anywhere sound wise.

I am a wanna be jazz musician, and I liked all the bands- except the Roots- I was disapointed with their rap- instead of playing some jazz or blues- they may have, but I left towards the end of the 3rd number. As an anchor band, they sucked. I have heard them play on the Jimmy Fallon show, and they normally swing, or rock. All the bands and members are 1st class musicians, but some of their song or tune offerings are downright boring. The re-birth band really lit up the bowl, as that type of jazz always does, and then Eddie Palmieii lit up the place, as latin bands always do.

Totally thrilled with the whole day. Recently moved to Southern CA from Boston! Whew!! Big move. It was all I was told it would be and more!! p.s. My husband and I are over 74 and thrilled to be able to enjoy such an awesome experience.

Being in concerts over the world, this one was the best I ever attended, the setting, the people, the quality of the lineup.....

Excellent playboy Jazz Festival and I will return next year 2012.

As usual, the festival was an outstanding event. Great music. Good and friendly people all around. Some characters, but they were good folks too. It was great to be able to bring our own food and drink (and a warm jacket) to the event.

It was my the very first experience at the Jazz Festival and i had A BLAST! Enjoyed it all the way. Next year i just know to get tix for both days - Sat & Sun. Thank you all to bring it to us. peace

Had an amazing time! All the people and music was great. Can't believe this was my first year goin, I been missin out for sure. Def goin back next year!

The Jazz Fest musicians we were able to see and hear prior to our early departure were exceptional. Bill Cosby was a great host of the event as well. What I was very disappointed in was the overall lack of consideration of the patrons surrounding us in the stands. There was no restraint, control or limits to anyone there whether they were over consuming their alcohol or drugs, both were abused to the fullest. This made it very difficult to enjoy the performance. And I will not even go into how deplorable the bathrooms were. It was a first time for my husband, 21 year old daughter and myself, and will definitely be the last. We left at 8:30pm, 2 ½ hours early fearing what the exit would be like if we stayed to see the evening to a close at the Bowl. Not to mention the fact that I had no interest in sharing the road with most of the people in attendance at the end of the night. I was embarrassed to have brought my daughter….it is a real shame, I don’t believe that Mr. Hefner would have intended it to be this way. I can understand people wanting to drink and be merry, but the lines were crossed in more ways than one that night.

This was the best festival. Fantastic vibe amongst the people. It was ONE BIG PARTY ... A LOVING ONE AT THAT!!!!! FANTASTIC.

The seats were great and the festival, as always, is done so very well. Looking forward to next year.

I went both days. Saturday was phenomenal. Dianne Reeves was most beautiful in form and spirit and no one sings like her. The New Orleans Band had us all in the aisles and The Roots and Terrance Blanchard still have my soul thumping. Sunday, well not so hot. I left early. The crowd was not as lively and Buddy's guitar screams were too loud for my ear-drums. Overall, however, the Playboy Jazz Festival was a rich treat.

The Playboy Jazz Festival always the best in jazz. Dianne Reeves, one of my favorite singers of all time. Eddie Palmieri is truly "The Sun Of Latin Music". the opening acts were also standouts. The Cos of Jazz was playing an old Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers send up when I arrived, The SFCollective, who's individual members I was familiar with, but not as a band. The New Orleans Jazz Band was a delight. I'm loving New Orleans funk! I question closing with The Roots. Though talented they aren't jazz. I think Dianne Reeves should have been the headliner.

Great music and great event all-around! Will go again next year!
