Rating: 4 out of 5by Anonymous on 8/14/18Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York Rating: 1 out of 5 I did not like it
by Freddy257962 on 8/14/18Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York- It was announced as an international exhibition, but there was not wifi access, so foreigners could not use the internet - Most video games were just simple Unity games like you can buy for 20 Cent each in cheap bundles - The air conditioning was barely existing - I could walk downstairs from the fourth to the first floor which resulted in entering the area before the security. I could not enter the exhibition again, because they did not believe me I had access to this area from the fourth floor - When playing all games, you were basically done in around 1.5 hours. - First, the security wanted to keep the umbrellas - it was raining!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Comic con of video games!!
by bdemu on 8/7/18Manhattan Center - New yorkLast year I had the BEST time at PlayNYC. Not even exaggerating, I had so. much. fun. I didn't know much about video games- I was just going with my brother and his friends- but the graffiti games were awesome! I honestly didn't know what they were or that graffiti games even existed. Rlly excited to see whats in store this year....
Rating: 5 out of 5 Biggest video game convention in New York City.
by MouseSandwich on 8/3/18Terminal 5 - New York CityI had a great time at PLAY NYC last summer. Lots of unique games to try. Feels great meeting the meeting all the developers and play their games before they are released. I'd say it's a little like PAX, but located in the middle of Manhattan.

by whyiseveryusernametaken on 8/3/18The Hammerstein - New YorkRan into the event last year walking by the Hell's Kitchen. I know Terminal 5 sometimes has cool events going on so every now and then I try to swing by and see what's going on. My gaming is generally just Fifa with my friends once every other week, but I texted them and decided to give a try. I thought it would be a bunch of arcade games or a competition, but the whole thing was packed with tables and booths and a whole bunch of people I never thought I'd see. Plus, the games themselves were really fun, and I was hoping it would happen again this year. 4 stars cause inconvenient location, but they moved it to the Manhattan Center so that might change.
Rating: 5 out of 5by eric4215 on 8/3/18The Hammerstein - New York I've always wondered why New York didn't have any E3 like events when practically everyone I know plays video games to some extent. I'm aware they've been having small-scale video game tournaments, but it was never anything where I could actually play. Then I saw Play NYC on New York 1 and everything changed. The minute I walked through the doors I felt like I was at a gaming café on steroids and I actually felt like a sad kid when the first day was coming to a close. There were games everywhere, and all you could see was the glow of video games on everyone's face. I went with a couple friends and we did not regret getting our tickets so last minute and we even made some professional connections with some of the developers. I thought it would be a one time thing, but I saw an ad on Facebook and figured I had to spread the word. I love this event. It feels like the answer to the question where is our E3, and I just hope this keeps getting bigger and bigger. P.S KSIStealThunder is my gamertag.
Rating: 5 out of 5 More games than you can imagine!
by kurtiscan on 8/3/18Hammerstien Ballroom - New York CityThis city has needed a proper games event. This is it! Last year's Play NYC was amazing, three floors of games, live Twitch stream, familys, friends, and so many devs. I can't wait for this year! Bigger space, more games, more play! If you like playing games, if you like trying new games, if you like meeting cool developers, and want to do something to discover and support local New York game makers, this is the place to do it!

by dotaisbetterthanleague on 8/3/18The Hammerstein - New York CityI always make fun of reviews where people say that they made accounts just to write that review, but I actually understand it now. I have been waiting for this games convention since I was a kid. Since it was an indie game event I thought it'd be a cheap way to pass the time, but they had amazing games and some really cool VR stuff. I heard they were bringing back Graffiti Games this year which was definitely one of the best parts of the event last year.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Play NYC was incredible last year!
by IronicTwist34 on 8/3/18Terminal 5 - New YorkWhat an amazing time! So many games of all shapes and sizes. I brought my whole family and my mom played VR for the first time. We stayed for both days because it was such a blast. Can't wait for it this year in the new awesome venue!
