    Broadway Playhouse management A++++

by Pinkatastic3 on 1/3/12Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Excellent show and even better management. My family and I incurred a situation upon arriving the theater. The management and staff were more than helpful and kind in resolving the problem. I am pleased by the professionalism and genuine care. My Daughters, 3 and 4 years olds, thoroughly enjoyed the show and were excited to meet the cast.

    Great for little ones!!

by samPink on 1/3/12Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

We took our 2 children to see this event. When we arrived, we found the lobby had craft activities which kept the kids occupied until the door opened. It was located in Water Tower, Chicago and we found out that our parking lot tickets could be validated. The Show was very entertaining. Our 2 children were completely mesmerized the entire time. It was filled with lots of songs and dances. The theme of this play is to encourage children to eat more vegetable which is a great theme. After watching this show, we stopped by a restaurant to have our lunch. Our daughter insisted on having Carrots and Green Beans for lunch!!! So I say "Team Pinkalicious", job well done and message well received!

    Very cute performance!

by goofy1326 on 1/3/12Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

The show was very cute! My 6 year old daughter really seemed to enjoy it! The storyline followed the book for the most part. Nice length - 1 hour. Catchy tunes. Loved how all the characters were available afterwards for autographs and pictures!! Really wished I would have thought to bring my daughters book with - would have been cool to have the booked signed!

A must-see for all little girls!

by BrieBryn on 1/1/12Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I took my daughters, ages 6 and 3. Both were familiar with all the Pinkalicious books. The music was catchy and the play was just the right length. I'd recommend all girls ages 3 and up to go! The location is great too--bring your American Girl doll and check out the store.

Pinkalisious had a lot of energy.

by cillanag on 1/1/12Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

The cast had a lot of energy. The singing and dancing was very enjoyable. We purchased our tickets rather late and sat in the 3rd row on the left but didn't have anyone in front of us. It was very easy to see. I really loved the excitement of the show. My grand daughter sat very attentively. We both recommend it.

Took my granddaughter (6) to see the play on her winter break. She and I both enjoyed it. Would recommend it to all those who have young girls and have enjoyed the books. We topped it off by having lunch at American Girl. I was a great day!

    Pink is a great color!

by nytclb on 12/30/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This themed play for young people was well produced. The actors did a great job of getting the children involved. The music was good and the voices were superb. The simple stage setting allowed the audience to follow the story easily. My grand daughters talked about the play for hours afterward. Watching their eyes while they described the play to others was a treat. For those that have young ones I would highly recommend Pinkalicious!

    pinkalicious no delicious

by KTMAN on 12/30/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

this was more like a middle school play. thank goodness it was only an hour. boring, predictable and more like going to the wiggles for toddler entertainment. my daughter was 8 and loves broadway and musicals but this one didn't seem to do much for our inspiration.

    Daughter Giggles. Pinkalicious Rules

by firstnoelle on 12/30/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I love being a product of the 80's, but wish I would have had such fun, whimsical, and coloricious characters that my daughter gets to enjoy today. I was quite impressed with the music and for the most part- staying true to the book characters. My daughter enjoyed the songs and giggled quite a bit. My only wish is that they would have interacted more with the upper level. We were only 2 rows from the stage front, but didn't get to have any close audience participation moments. What was unexpected and kid-friendly, cool? The chanc to take pictures and get autographs. All is all, it was a wonderful theater experience with my daughter. We welcome the opportunity for another Emerald City Theater performance. Pinkie fun!

    Pink, Pink, Pink!

by EAMom on 12/29/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Overall, I thought the musical did what it sort of intended--bring the beloved Pinkalicious characters to life for all of the Pinkalicious fans out there...including my 2 yr. old daughter. However, I thought the songs, minus the Pink Blues, were subpar. I couldn't remember any of the hooks from any of the songs after the show was over, even though they sang all of the refrains from all of their songs again at the end of the show. I also didn't think the casting was done that great. Even though my daughter knows the Pinkalicious books inside out, I don't think she could really point out who was who right away. Pinkalicious seemed a bit big/tall in comparison to her parents, and her friend Alison looked like an adult. The lines were poorly written as well. It almost sounded like the characters were reading the narration parts at times. One other negative was that the characters seemed almost hyper for most of the musical. It made the whole musical a bit on the irritating side, and I love musicals. It just didn't have many dynamics throughout, and the emotions didn't have much depth. For something positive, I liked the messages in the show: eat healthy/your greens, boys and girls can like the same things (i.e. the color pink), and be proud of who you are. My daughter has actually been saying that she likes green food after watching the show! She still doesn't choose her greens first, but it's something. I also thought the scenery was well done. I thought Pinkalicious could have done more makeup to really make the changes more dramatic, but overall, I thought the set was visually capturing. My daughter definitely did not take her eyes off the stage for one second...even when characters were making entrances from the back and side of the theater. All in all, Pinkalicious was a fun girls' day outing for my daughter, my sister-in-law, and me. I just wish it could have been better written. It had so much potential to be more than just a musical based on a book.

It is loud and noisy. If I knew it is like that, I would never bring my little one to it. The story is not as positive as it is supposed to be. I hate such shows to attract little girls and give them bad values. My daughter had to cover her ears sometimes when they sang too badly.

    Perfect for little girls!!!

by AuntieKimSue on 12/29/11Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I took my niece and my cousins daughter to see Pinkalicious as a Christmas gift. It was perfect! They definitely didn't need any more "stuff", so this was great to be able to give something to them and spend time with them. I would highly recommend.
