Terrific concert! The music was great! Actually enjoyed the symphony more than the group.
This was the third time in a little over 2 years that I have seen America, twice backed by a symphony orchestra and once without. Though Bunnel's and Beckley's voiced are about as sweet and true as 1979, the songs sound best backed by a symphony. After all, that is how most of their songs are on their albums. The best example is "The Last Unicorn". America simply doesn't include it in their "non-symphony backed" concerts. I left the concert once again with a smile on my face and in my heart. I love "time traveling" with America. My greatest hope is that they will return again to North Carolina to grace us with their timelessness to take me back yet again to the most magical times of my life! And I hope they play again with a wonderful symphony like the Piedmont Wind Symphony!
The performance was phenomenal! What a privilege to see a true music icon.
The show was enjoyable, and it was nice to hear so many of his hit songs. However, since the show was billed as "Neil Sedaka's Comin to Town", I was disappointed that Neil Sedaka sang only ONE Christmas song during the entire show.
WOW!! From the first note to the last the Piedmont Wind Symphony presented a wonderful, lively program. And from the moment Mr. Sedaka entered the stage my husband and I were totally engaged. What a trip down memory lane for us. Dancing-in -my- seat to singing-along (very quietly, of course) to all the oldies but goodies made for magic moments that will stay with me forever. A rare talent giving rare moments to a grateful 70+ life-long fan. Thank you Neil for all have given the world. Thank you Piedmont Wind Symphony for bringing Neil Sedaka to Winston Salem so we could be teen-agers again, if only for a few hours.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Piedmont Wind Symphony. They were great to listen to. And then when Neil Sedaka came out, he was fantastic. I never knew he wrote so many songs. It was definitely sing-a-long time with his hits. Enjoyed it immensely.
